Okay, so in your own words and experience, what's d difference in application procedure 4 msc n PhD? Do u need to write a research thesis proposal?

I am also a prospective LSU grad student. I applied for a PhD in chemistry and I was offered full tuition waiver and graduate assistantship. I got an initial acceptance letter (by email) from the department of chemistry which also notified me of my assistantship offer before I got a mail from the graduate school notifying me of same. It still reads provisional admission though cos I have to present my original degree statement (B.Sc cert. can suffice) when I resume at LSU. It will be extremely cool to have you guys around there.

Gained a lot from ds group b4 I took GRE. Thanks to those that contributed, was accepted to TAMUK lastweek.

Congratulations brother, however just like u, some of us are probably awaiting decisions and as u probably might agree, people rarely take gre @ dis time nor apply 4 visas, hence d reason 4 d silence I guess and every newbies will always be anxious to get added to d group, I was there once, so relax, we are still together


What amount of funding or assistantship were u offered Sir

Just like lobito said, nipost is doing wonders, na dem I dey use send am my documents except when it is very urgent... Saves me a lot of money and I have never heard stories dat touch... it takes approximately 2weeks, none of my docs had exceeded 3weeks by nipost

Have anyone successfully applied and paid application fees to schools like University of Oklahoma and University of Houston application system that use "Applyweb" portal. I started an application on those schools and till date I can't make payment using my visa card. The error message is " ADDRESS VERIFICATION MISMATCH. The Billing Address did not match that of the cardholder. Please correct". Anyone experiencing the same problem and how did you go about it.

Lol, dis shii happened to me few months ago, if not dat I have used d same card and billing address to make oda payments online, I would have tot I dunno wat m doing... My story is quite famous here, I even had friends in us n uk to help me make payment but it didn't work. Eventually I had to forego d entire application even tho I have completed n submitted every necessary documents.. You can try tell someone in us or uk to help u try or use a master card.. m sure dia is a way around it, dats if u don't want to change school .. best of luck

Although, I am extremely disappointed with my performance, I am kinda elated sha (bakan bakan) cos am no longer a tyro!!!
Did the GRE today and I saw weeeeeeeeennnnn!!! Was confidently picking the wrong answers, why the time was moving at a speed faster than that of life!!! Anyways, I kuku do am!! VQVQV in that pattern first made my heart go Founder... Well, I pam 156 for QS and 144 for VS!!! Why my heart kept telling me I fk up and dat the result no dey promising sort off,I remain disinterested for now, make baba God take control!!

Yes bro. The university was having issues with contract visa issuance due to falling oil prices. Even, those that submitted before me are still waiting like me. So, everything happens for a reason. I finally got approval this January.

I am just asking because my results for 5th dec 2015 exams is been delayed. I read somewhere that your results could be delayed if u scored a 9.0 in one of ur band or when the difference btw ur scores is more than 1.5
for example- if u score 8.0 and 6.0 as ur highest and lowest score.

Well, probably dats not totally true, cos like I said, I didn't experience any delay. I wrote in lagos tho

I don't mean to sound pessimistic but dat kind of anticipated score 4 such limited time, it's really a tough one, I won't advice u to do it

Check wes.org for more info, most schools (if not all) require course-by-course transcript evaluation

No oo, u will pay oo but it's not expensive like dat and depending on your choice of delivery, standard delivery takes like 10days and it's $7

You can mail dem and ask if dey will accept WES transcript but most likely dey will say no, I have tried it b4. If u want to apply to the school requiring wes, den u must do 4 only dat 1. N depending on how close u r to d application deadline, u can send d transcript by post, it's going to be cheaper dat way but will take approximately 3weeks to deliver

i just took the ielts exam. i booked 7 weeks from my test date and i practiced with their free online tutorials and the hard copies of their study materials which i bought at the british council office in Lagos. I didnt put my self under any pressure within that 7 weeks as i was studying as i read anytime i felt like and i also checked a couple of some websites given in another ielts thread for this exam to add to my knowledge. I took the general training option and in the end i had my results as follows:

L - 7.5
W - 7.5
R - 7.5
S - 7.0


i was not so happy with the Listening and reading results cos i was expecting at least an 8.0 band score for them. I may ask for a remark before the deadline but i am still considering some things.

Wow! Congratulations Sir, but I had advised u let it go, thank God u av @least 7.0 in each section and with 7.5overall score, u av met almost any kind of english proficiency test requirement. So just let it go, lift it to God and let him bless ur hustle
