The Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Henry Seriake Dickson has drawn the battle line, as the PDP primary elections to select the candidate to fly the party's flag in the November guber election approaches. Many have criticized the governor for being too loud in a contest that he's not a direct participant. In recent weeks, the governor has been quite vocal about his displeasure with what he describes as blackmail from the Timi Alaibe camp on his person, stating that he will do everything within his power to ensure one of the candidates in the restoration team succeeds him as governor of the state. Recall that a number of high profile politicians who are serving in various capacities in Dickson's restoration government are in the race to pick the party's ticket, and the governor is determined to seeing that one of them succeeds him. Though there's a serious disagreement in the restoration camp over who will receive the governor's blessing, the governor is more concerned about the threat Timi Alaibe posses. |
The emergence of Senator Ovie Omo Agege as the Deputy Senate President has been received with mixed reactions. While many APC supporters are expressing their satisfaction over the outcome of the elections held on the floor of the Senate to determine the two top officers of the Red Chamber, some others have criticized the choice of Senator Omo Agege as the DSP. In furtherance to the above, controversy sparked only two days after the emergence of Senator Omo Agege as DSP, when images showing the Senator kneeling down to shake the hands of President Buhari surfaced on social media. Many Nigerians, including Femi Fani Kayode criticized the Deputy Senate President for this act, stating that such actions shows a lack of character to perform checks and balance with the executive. However, a contrary view has been expressed by some Nigerians, who are saying that the Senator has only proven himself to be a true son of the Niger Delta, a region that is rich with so many cultural values, of which kneeling down to greet elders is one of them. They further stated that those who are criticizing the Senator are only reminding us of how much of our cultural values we have lost in the name of globalization.

desiredhome:If you divorce, you cannot or should not remarry. That's God's standard as written in the scriptures. Besides there's only one basis given in the scriptures upon which a person can divorce, and that's infidelity. St. Matthew 5:32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. |
The fact that one does not have to be married to make heaven is basic. Everyone should know that in this day and age of knowledge. However, we cannot allow people to continue to deceive us. The real issue here is the rate at which people like Freeze are campaigning for others to join them in the world of divorced fellows. Mark 10:9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. And no man here includes the man and the woman in the marriage. In fact, the Bible also says that if a couple should venture into divorce, they should not re-marry. Let Freeze say this as well. He says he knows the Bible, he's a pastor as i heard. Finally, I will close with this: St. Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. |
mrchineke:With the way you release abusive words, i wonder how much petty you can be. It is not a war. |
Next2Bezee:You don't need to be married to make heaven, no link at all. However, the scripture is clear on matters bothering on divorce. If anyone ventures into marriage, divorce is not an option, but if one should divorce, he cannot remarry. Freeze should speak the whole truth, he claims to know the scriptures. I Cor. 7:10-11 |
While most Nigerians across the nation showered praises on President Buhari for the declaration of June 12 as Democracy day, a staunch APC stakeholder has expressed a divergent view. The APC chieftain who spoke in anonymity has stated that such declarations does not add value to the living standard of the people. He expressed disappointment in the political class and also voiced his concerns over the current makeup of the leadership of the National Assembly. In his words, "when a man that breeds thugs becomes the Deputy Senate President, then be sure that we are trading our freedom for unsustainable stability." When asked why he is taking such stance, giving the fact that he is a major stake holder in the ruling All Progressives Congress, he said, "There's something fundamentally wrong with this country. Most Nigerians are merely analysing, whereas the solution to our problems are miles away from their reach." He further added that even the elite politicians are only looking for ways of securing their sources of livelihood, as they've never had the interest of the nation at heart. When asked what he thinks of the current government's Next Level Agenda, he said "What we need is a military officer that is open minded, whose allegiance is with the people of the Nation. A vibrant soldier, brave enough to silent the so-called cabals forever. Someone with enough courage to retire all former military officers from active politics.

The Lagos State Government, has denied a claim by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, acquired a N187 million official vehicle. The Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Gboyega Akosile, in a statement, on Sunday, said that the vehicle used by Sanwo-Olu, which he said was “certainly not N187 million”, was purchased over a year ago. According to Akosile, the Lagos Chapter of the PDP, had started exhibiting signs of “long-term depression”, by joining the “infamous league of fake news promoters”. He said: “As a major political party, one will expect the PDP to be more circumspect in its criticism of the State Governor, especially along the lines of progress and development for the State, and not reducing itself to a purveyor of fake news. “For the avoidance of doubt, His Excellency, the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, did not buy a N187 million SUV as his official vehicle. In fact, the Governor has not procured any vehicle for official use. “The vehicle the Governor uses, if that is what the PDP is referring to, was purchased almost a year ago, and it certainly is not N187 million. The PDP needs to check well before coming out with fallacious claims next time.” Asokile, speaking on the PDP’s demand for Sanwo-Olu’s assets declaration, said that it was clear that the party and its members are delusional. He said: “While it is not legally mandatory for Governor Sanwo-Olu to make his assets declaration public, he is certainly not perturbed about the request. The PDP should know by now that it is a choice. “However, Governor Sanwo-Olu will not be dragged into matters that have no direct positive impact on the lives of the people of Lagos State. “Therefore the PDP should keep its unsolicited advice, and concentrate on putting its already collapsed house in order, if it hopes to be relevant in the political firmament of Lagos State now, or in the future.

americanigga:Intra-party ranglings are normal in politics. The other time, Sylva/Alaibe/Tiwei plus many other people had similar issues in the APC. Its almost normal |
donbachi:Jonathan has seen shame many times. He's not regarded as an Elder states man. My view tho |
donbachi:Am sure you know Jonathan doesn't own the state. |
You have a point there. However, what does the construction say? Is merely a matter of fareness and equity? Why cant a state have both the gov. and speaker from same LGA? |
The emergence of Rt. Hon. Tonye Isenah as the Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly has sparked different reactions from many quarters. The sixth Assembly was only last week Inaugurated by His Excellency, Governor Henry Seriake Dickson, with Rt. Hon. Tonye Isenah emerging as the new speaker for the State House of Assembly. While many followers of Bayelsa politics have jubilated over the emergence of Tonye as the new speaker, some politicians have called out the state governor in what they termed an agenda to sabotage Timi Alaibe's chances of becoming the next governor of the state. Since the emergence of Tonye Isenah as Speaker of the state house, it has been argued that the chances of Timi Alaibe has been jeopardized, since the Governor and Speaker cannot come from the same LGA. A senior politician loyal to the Timi Alaibe's camp who spoke under anonymity, stated that it is perceived that the governor is playing the Trojan Horse by using Tonye Isenah against his elder brother from thesame LGA Timi Alaibe, who already has the anointing of former Preseident Goodluck Jonathan and other notable politicians in the state to fly the PDP's flag in the November elections. It was further stated that despite the early cards of Governor Dickson, alot of work is still being done to ensure that Timi Alaibe's mandate is actualised come November this year. |
They want to unfix the match. |
Reports are that GEJ wants Timi to succeed Dickson, but it appears Dickson has other plans, despite his relationship with Alaibe. |
Chief Ndutimi Alaibe took to his Facebook page to explain why he had to pull out of the Bayelsa state governorship race in the past. Take a look at what he said below.
|
As the political climate in Bayelsa thickens once again as we approach another governorship election in the state, Chief Timi Alaibe popularly referred to as the Principal, who was only recently welcomed back to the PDP along with other returnees has been seen to be having a smooth relationship with the state governor, Chief Henry Seriake Dickson. However, there is a fierce battle between Former president Goodluck Jonathan & Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa state as they are in a struggle to adopt their various candidates to fly PDP flag in the November 16, 2019 governorship election in Bayelsa state. Will this be the turn of Timi Alaibe, after several attempts to occupy the office in Creek Heaven? Only time will tell.

I agree. however, there's a school of taught which believes that the president used june 12 as a reward for an old ally. Don't forget there's a theory that says the 1983 coup was financed by the late MKO, although he denied it. |
In a bid to change the narrative in the socio-political landscape, the Buhari led federal government showed how skillful they can be with their deck of cards. In a country where most of it's citizens have lost faith in the ability of the government to deliver on its pre-election promises, the government was at this point standing at the edge of a cliff, and any wrong push will mean disaster for both the government and the ruling APC. Incidentally, the political advicers of the president were smart enough to notice that June 12 was around the corner, hence the publicity stunt was rolled out, and it served the purpose of pacifying many Nigerians to say the least. However, many believed that the president was rather trying to score cheap political points, instead of facing the real issues of poverty, insecurity, economy etc. With the recent killings in plateau state, it will suffice to say that the June 12 stunt has died prematurely with those killed by the herds men in Plateau state. The president needs to act |

While many Nigerians may not believe in the Super Eagles, I strongly trust in their abilities despite the poor performances from the last set of friendly matches played. We all know that the team is badly rated and they are one of the least experienced, however, we will give the world something that will not be far from a shocker in Russia. I trust that the Eagles will do better than the APC has done with our resources and mandate. |
Am sure they will do us proud |
