Pls if u intend going to mihs with this new package pls kindly put it here if u sign d residence package or non - residence package abeg...Make person knw whether na to enroute sure pass. Thanks.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by cfcchick: 11:45pm On Oct 01, 2014
Tvegas: The link below contains details of the new MIHS package, i guess patients are still entitled to some discounts when they sign the agreement. Some clarity should be sought on that though. Its noteworthy that the new package includes all the tests, prenatal care and many more. http://mihs.org/uploads/sites/19/2014/Martha-Maternity_Package_Non_Resident_2014.9.pdf

For those discussing security in america, there is nothing to be worried about in my view. Your average dangerous areas are safer than most highbrow locations in Nigeria where the police abuse everything. Above all Safety is the lord's.
Pls I need some clarity on this non - residence and residence package plan? I dnt knw if any previous mihs mother (s) were able to sign the residence plan without any hassle.

Also, on the issue of flying at a latter gestation age abeg Biko, people try not to push it. To they lady that flew at 37wks I tip my hat to you- you are bold& strong dear cheesy while, for a myriad of reasons most people can not leave earlier but if you can please arrange to fly according to your doctor's recommendation pls. Moreso, if naa multiple as in twins, triplets,......... Or you be first time mom. First time mom cos truth be told you be "learner" and you do not know your body in pregnancy.
Well said dear...ur post up there is an advice which is well appreciated. Not some comments questioning why people have to travel late or early.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by cfcchick: 10:57pm On Sep 21, 2014
major1p: Oh Please. Don't insult our intelligence here. Your name alone gives you away as a travel agent. You're just very subtle about your marketing style. All it takes is to click on your name and your posts on other topics advertising flights will come up. You don't have to refer to yourself as an agent. It is interesting though that your only responses on this thread relate to flights. I can't see where Tvegas has misled anybody and flights are not exactly the focus of this thread

@cfcchic, stop being defensive about time limit for travel. People are making general comments and referring to no one in particular. Decide on when you want to fly, commit your plans to God, take the experiences of others into consideration and just fly. Shikena.
Judge Judy....dnt be hard on yourself mate! Why do I have to b defensive about my decision? Who's paying d bill? No 1 has d right to question or condemn any body's travel plan.if I decide to go at 39 weeks it ain't nobody's business. No one has d right to condemn any1 going late or early that was d point I made.Peace

lizcom25: Every pregnant woman have a choice to make for safety purpose. Why will you wait till 35/36 wks bfore flying? Whatever that will keep you till then is the choice you have made over safe journey and birthing
So people who fly 35/36 wks don't have safe journey and birthinghuh Being judgemental over people's personal decisions and choices!!!!!

nefertitiram: Yer, my doc told me around 20 weeks to leave asap if I had to travel because my placenta was low lying.
Na oversabi I take use wait till 27 weeks, although some circumstances were beyond my control but I could have left if I took it more seriously
Sweety, pls don't blame ursef!!!! Just believe and trust God in due time u will conceive again.last year I had a blighted ovum, I had to evacuate! It was a difficult period for me but now I'm expecting another baby! Imagine if I had that baby and it turn out to be one with autism or down syndrome! !!! Knowin the kind of person I am..I don't have that much strength! !!! In all let's just give thanks and trust God!!! The gud Lord will smile on u soon. *kisses*

nefertitiram: People are different, I planned to travel at 27 weeks and didn't make it to the airport.
Just be in tune with your body, it won't lie to you
Thank you...God bless u darl!!!my point exactly. ..If my body says go at 20 weeks sure I won't wait till 30 weeks! And whoever wants to go at 34/35/36 my judgement should not make them guilty about their decision.

[quote author=Shawbabe]Your health and baby's health comes FIRST!!! Anybody that tells you to push it to 35 or 36 weeks won't be there to make you comfortable during the long flights and layovers! So even if it is work, beg them that you have to leave early!! The ultimate is God's protection! But we have to do our part and keep it to 34 weeks

My 1st baby I travelled at 36 weeks and i was verrrrrry fine. Travelling late or early is a personal decision and if ur health can take it.

nefertitiram: Hi All,
I lost my babies, poor handling in ICU here in Nigeria, even at 7 months. Another reason why everybody needs to have their baby in the US! I pray no one experiences this kind of loss in Jesus Name,
I have managed to move on. Time to go back to the drawing board, sad loss after trying for a number of years.
I cannot question God.
So sorry about your loss...Soon u will b joyful mother of children.Ijn.pls stay strong.

Tvegas: @mrs flowers, Nita and uncle Oawele. ...Make una no vex . I already envisaged something like this will happen because of the crowd trooping to MIHS. Everyone responds to the law of demand and supply, it's not peculiar to Nigerians alone.

Finding good alternatives is what we should preoccupy ourselves with. Yesterday, i saw one maternity package in Sarasota, florida but the price is still around 5k epidural and everything inclusive. I called them to know if discounts can be granted but it was entering voice mail. So The search continues.
@ Tvegas, pls watz d name of d hospital so I can try calling dem as well.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by cfcchick: 9:07am On Sep 16, 2014
Flowers: My point was just that for anything in biz, the higher the demand for it thje higher the price. Nigerians over doing thing I mean is that some people just come to the forum and flow with the crowd without any research. Just asking questions and questions without even reading the forum. Am not here to trade words with anyone. Some people are just rude.
h
Flowers, it sounds like u are d rude one here my darlin. ...aw are u gonna blame people looking out for affordable service? Is it easy...people work so for their money and ur here saying Nigerians can over do thins!!!!! Ridiculous. .no right thinking person wud take 10, 000 over 2, 888...so drop it.

trav: Hello House,

Please does anybody have any experience or information about processing Nigerian visa in the UK. Our baby's US passport just came out and we have less than a week to spend in the US before leaving so processing a Nigerian visa or passport in the US is not working for me. We plan to spend a few days in the UK before returning to Nigeria so I think I should just process the visa at the Nigerian High Commission in London. The problem is I am not getting much information from the High Commissions website and they are also not picking calls.

I will appreciate any advise or information regarding how to go about processing a Nigerian visa for our daughter at the Nigerian High Commission in the UK.

Lady jst go to the high commission with all necessary documents u'll get ur baby's visa.my brother inlaw and wife did something it was quite easy for them.

Thanks all

chinwe11: Hi Nairalanders.

Has anyone ever had problems with renewing thier visa via drop box? I had my first in the US though i had applied for a B1B2 visa. I didnt know i was pregnant during the interview anyway so i said no when asked the prego question. I eventually had my baby there, and paid over 13k USD). I visited again 6 months after and stayed about three weeks.

Now applying for a b1b2 again (not pregnant this time), but was told i dont need an interview since my previous visa just expired. I have all my receipts from the previous hospital, and pay slips and all, but was told all i need to submit at drop box is my confirmation letter and passport stuff.

Anyone been refused? or will they call me to come with my reciepts for interview instead>

Thanks
Sweety u have nothin to worry about! Got my visa wen I was 7 months pregnant, d VO asked me any plans for medicals I said no (but I won't do that again) I had my baby in US! I didnt visit again till my visa expired and I renewed via drop box.u dnt need ant supporting documents. All d best God gat u.

MrsBee: I think Palm Shadows has 1 bedroom but I don't have the details. A lady was there for a week but moved to Crossland cos she was alone there. You might want to use Google for more details.

Nita2013: Yeah cfcchick, u can look at extended stay East Oak and extended stay Biltmore. Few pple that stayed there had good things to say and it's closer to d Hospital than Crossland.
Thanks dear..actually looking for a 1 bedroom /2 bedroom not studio. My mum inlaw and hubby will b coming along
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by cfcchick: 4:57pm On Sep 08, 2014
Nita2013: Lol @cfcchick and raii. Ok oh we will keep u guys posted. My LO is yet to pop but I av been to d hospital 3 times now (Financials, Ob/Gyn and Blood test/Scan) and d service so far has been great as they listen to everything u av to say and keep askin u if u av any problem.

I am presently at crossland and we r many here oh. It's like a small naija community and a family as well. We had a small buffet dinner on Saturday and some Mommas from other apartments also came. Would have posted pics but don't kno if our very own Justwise would allow that. Some Mommas av popped already and all momma/babies r doing great. God has been faithful to his words.

One thing I notice about MIHS is that they try their best to avoid CS. CS is normally d last option for them when they see that all options av been exhausted. But like I say God is d ultimate.

Boo, thank u o jare! This sounds gud! Always feed us wit any info u get abeg. I dnt wanna stay at crossland thou! Any other ones u can recommend?
