http://chachacorner.com/oh-for-the-love-ladies-chase-me-leave-brapanties-shirts-at-my-door-lynxx/ Just when we were beginning to recover form the love letter written to Banky W, One of the handsome single hulks in the Nigerian Music entertainment industry, Lynxx speaks on the attention he gets from Ladies to Saturday Beats : “I am aware that they refer to me as the ladies man’. I think the reason behind that is the brand that I have created for myself. It is the brand that I came out with and maintained. I think it is the reason they label me with that. The core of my fans is actually ladies because I make songs for them. I have been coping with all the craziest of the ladies by the grace of God. My goal is always to remain focused. Ladies have done a lot of crazy things to me. Most times, when I am out of Lagos to perform, the ladies always find my room and leave certain items outside my door. I have got all kinds of items -shirts, panties, bras – name it,” Now just what was that?!

http://chachacorner.com/how-i-met-my-wife-julius-agwu/ Well, if you’ve been curious about the Nigerian Julius Agwu, here’s an insight into his meeting with his wife and all… as reported by Ladun’s Blog: Ibiere: It has been good. How did you meet? Julius: We met at a wedding in year 2000; she was part of the bridal train. Incidentally, Okey Bakassi and I were the comperes at the event, and both of us competed on who would be the first to ask her out. I made the first move but she was too little, she was underage. Ibiere (cuts in): I was 18, I was not underage.Click to continue. Julius Agwu: Well, she was 18 but she was a baby. I just saw one beautiful girl. I was smarter, I was faster, and I was able to get her contact. We became friends but she started putting up an attitude whenever I tried reaching her. At a point, I called her bluff and wondered who she was. In fact, I forgot about her. Ibiere, why did you put up an attitude? Ibiere: I was not putting up any attitude, I just concentrated on my books, then, I was in my first year in the university. Was your attitude as a result of his profession as a comedian? Ibiere: The fact that he is a comedian had nothing to do with my decision, I wasn’t just interested. So, at what point did you change your mind and show interest? Ibiere: After the first meeting, we lost contact for two years; we met later and became friends. When you met her later, what was your reaction? Julius: I met her two years later in 2002 when I lost my father. I was very angry because at that period, my career was just kicking off. The day he died, I went to Chioba, my village to settle his hospital bills. On getting there, I saw a crowd of mourners at our gate. I was so angry that I made up my mind to drink myself to stupor. I went to a town in Port Harcourt to have drinks with some friends who had come to commiserate with me. When I left our table for the toilet, I ran into her on the corridor. She informed me that it was the eve of her birthday and she had come out for some drinks with her friends. I informed her that I had just lost my father. We moved from there to another club and since it was her birthday, I decided to buy drinks for everybody. After all the money I spent at the club, they wanted to leave. So, I asked her, “are you leaving without even giving me a kiss?” She said, for what?’ I realised she was still putting up an attitude and that got me very angry. This was in addition to the fact that I was tipsy. Again, I called her bluff. During my father’s burial, she came, but she was still a baby because she still had her curfew and she was not supposed to stay out late. But I was impressed that she made out time to visit me. At what point did it occur to you that he might propose? Ibiere: At no point, when he proposed, I was not actually thinking about marriage because I had just graduated and was not even thinking of marriage. But Julius, do you agree that part of this attraction could be the fact that she was not really interested? Julius: One thing about me is that I like to have my way. I have always had my way and she posed a challenge for me through her lack of interest. But I did not just see a beautiful girl, I saw someone who was intelligent and stern. She was principled from the outset. She is actually my greatest critic. Since he is a jovial person and makes money out of telling jokes, are there times you expect him to be serious about some issues and he is not? Ibiere: He knows when I want him to be serious and he sees it on my face. Most times, I don’t even need to say anything, I just look at him and he knows I mean business. Also, I know when he is serious. When I see his facial expression I know. His job entails a lot of publicity. How do you deal with that especially being with him almost at every event? Ibiere: I am always with him but I am not in the public glare because I don’t bring myself out there to be seen. I am always in the background. Do you laugh at his jokes when he is on stage? Ibiere: If it is funny I laugh, if it is not I don’t laugh. You must really enjoy his jovial nature? Ibiere: He could be very annoying; forget all these things he does on stage. He gets me annoyed. At home? Ibiere: Not even at home. What does he do to annoy you? (At this point, the couple stared hard at each other). Ibiere: What does he do to annoy me? Hmm… I don’t want to go there. Julius: Go there now. What does she do to make you angry? Julius: She is an introvert; most times I am the one who would ask, ‘are you okay? What is the problem?’ She would just keep to herself and that really gets at me. Sometimes, I would expect her to ask me how I am faring but she never does. Though I like the fact that she really doesn’t have friends; but I still don’t like the way she treats me. Before we got married she would ask me, ‘baby, have you eaten? Try and eat something please.’ Since we got married, she has not bothered to ask me if I have eaten! These days, I have to beg her to ask me if I have eaten. Is this true? Ibiere: No. It is not true. When was the last time you asked him if he had eaten? Ibiere: I asked him day before yesterday. Julius: When was the last time before the day before yesterday? How do you settle fights? Ibiere: We fight until one of us is tired; usually he is the one who gets tired first. Is it true? Julius: It is true. The kind of job I do is to give laughter and joy. So, each time we quarrel, I don’t feel comfortable, I can’t claim to give people joy when I am not happy. I thought I was an expert at keeping malice until I met her. Ibiere: You are worse than me. I might not be happy but if I am angry, I can still talk to him but if he is angry, he can go on and would not even say a word to anybody. Has your bond grown stronger? Both: Yes it has. Funny enough it has. What has kept your marriage? Julius: We just decided that we would not engage in stupid quarrels. Ibiere: Before the situation gets to the stage of quarrelling, we speak about our feelings instead of bottling up issues.

The actress who has gone through so much pain because of her ailment has had some reason to smile as the Lagos State government wiped the tears from her eyes by completing the money she needs for medical attention, she was given 4.5Million Naira. Now she has over N6million. We hear she’s preparing to leave for Germany for the the treatment. Am I mistaken, or were we not told that it would be in the UK? Oh well, from Tope Orekoya‘s blog, we get this: According to her spokesman, Seun Oloketuyi, the actress is currently processing her visa and other necessary travel documents to enable her proceed on the journey early next week. Oloketuyi said, “The Lagos State Government paid the outstanding balance she has been trying to raise all the while, so she is on the right track. She has done all tests that she is expected to do. She has already made the payment to the hospital and will take all these details with her to the German embassy on Monday. She should travel out unfailingly next week by God’s grace.” We wish her the very best and a speedy recovery! http://chachacorner.com/nollywoods-ngozi-nwosu-moves-to-germany-for-treatment/

http://chachacorner.com/rnb-celebrity-singermary-j-blige-stuns-on-l-a-confidential-cover-photos/ The celebrity who keeps a low profile has finally come public with her life, past and present and on cover of LA Confidential she just looks magnificent! All About Mary: Blige, 42, has been an indomitable force in the music business for more than two decades, ever since Sean “Diddy” Combs, her friend, mentor, and executive producer of her first album, took her under his professional wing. She has gone on to sell more than 50 million albums and is the only artist to have won Grammy Awards in four categories (R&B, Rap, Gospel, and Pop), having been nominated for the award 29 times, and winning nine. She has also begun an acting career. She’s been in the requisite Tyler Perry movie and last fall completed the upcoming Lifetime Network film Betty and Coretta, about the widows of Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr., in which she stars as Dr. Betty Shabazz opposite Angela Bassett’s Coretta Scott King. Married for the past nine years to Kendu Isaacs, Blige has come a long way from her troubled past. Born in the Bronx , the daughter of Thomas, a musician, and Cora, a nurse, she grew up in Yonkers, New York, where she attended the charismatic Pentecostal church. It was a hardscrabble life. And yet she bears her emotional scars with dignity. After we were introduced, we curled up together on a sofa in the corner of the photo studio. As she sank into the cushions—giving the brim of her newsboy cap a jauntier tilt as she did so—we dug into just how hard-won such dignity has been for her. Blige, the artist, has always used “sampling” in her music; here’s a “sampling” of my conversation with Blige, the woman. KEVIN SESSUMS: I can’t wait to see you channeling Betty Shabazz. She and Malcolm X had six daughters. MARY J. BLIGE: Attallah, Qubilah, Ilyasah, Gamilah, Malikah, Malaak. There’s a lot of ’em. KS: If they had had a seventh one they could have named her Synesthesia. MJB: [Laughing] I have that condition, synesthesia. I see music in colors. That’s how my synesthesia plays out. KS: I think a lot of Betty Shabazz’s empathetic—even wounded—dignity can be traced back to when she was the daughter of an unwed teenager herself back in Detroit. Can your empathy, your dignity, be traced back to your own wounded childhood? MJB: I still have the child within me. She’s more around now than ever. She wasn’t around in the early days because I was pushing her back. I didn’t want anybody to hurt her. KS: Somebody did hurt you. You were molested. I’ve written about my own molestation—though some people think those kinds of things should be kept to oneself. MJB: Yes. That was very hard to deal with—my molestation—and sometimes I do go into that again. But I can’t do that so much anymore. That’s a prison. KS: For so many of us your song “No More Drama” became a kind of key out of the prisons of our own pain—whether it was from abuse or molestation or drug addiction or alcoholism. You were preaching to us, Mary. MJB: For me, it wasn’t preaching. For me, I was exorcizing demons. It’s extra hard for people like you and me because we want to be free and we speak about it. KS: You’ve spoken openly about your addictions as well. MJB: What I did was I chose to learn how to drink socially and it didn’t work. The test comes when you have to decide whether you’re drinking to be social or drinking to cover up something again. To cover up depression. To cover up guilt. Shame. Abandonment. All of that, man. Once I realized, “There you go again,” I had to stop. Whitney Houston’s death really affected me. Her death is another reason I stopped. I really do think I’m done. I looked at how that woman could not perform anymore. KS: Were you afraid to do a more structured program of recovery because of your fame? MJB: I don’t know why. But I didn’t want to go to rehab. I believe that anything man himself can do for me, God can do for me in a greater way. I decided to pray and to seek God on my own. I just stayed in The Word. And it worked. KS: Do you consider yourself a born-again Christian? MJB: Yes. KS: And yet you’ve come out in favor of same-sex marriage. A lot of people would say that is not compatible with your born-again Christianity. MJB: I would say this to those people: I’m not God. God said not to judge anyone lest you be judged. That’s it. Who am I to point my finger? You’ve got to walk in love. To say you do not want people to be happy is so mean, so not me. KS: And yet people do have some good reasons, as you have had, for not being happy. Poverty. Molestation. How old were you when you were molested? MJB: I was 5. Mmmm … yes. I was 5. I don’t want to go into the details. It’s something that hurt me really bad. I’m still the same way. When I open up to trust you, I trust you wholeheartedly. And then when you betray that trust, it closes me up. KS: You become that 5-year-old again. MJB: Yes. KS: What you carry around with you the rest of you life—I can only speak for myself here—is the complicity in your own molestation, how you are a participant in it. It goes way past guilt. MJB: Right. You’re so right. And the quiet. The quiet. I always think about how quiet it all was. It was abnormally quiet. It was just quiet. And there are certain smells that… mmmm… well… someone was using this lotion on their hands an hour or so ago. I smelled this lotion and I had such a flashback about it all. It’s weird that we’d be talking about all this right now after me just having that flashback. KS: Your voice—your music—could be looked upon as healing “the quiet” that was inflicted upon that 5-year-old little girl. MJB: You know what else is weird? In my life—when I don’t have to work—I am quiet. That’s how I live. I’m by myself and I remain really quiet either reading or watching an old movie. I don’t really like too much noise around me. KS: Well, there’s nothing noisier than a Grammy Awards show. What was winning your first Grammy in 1995 for Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group like? Were you still using? MJB: Back then? Shoot. When I got that Grammy I was high. Not at the Grammys I don’t think. But I was drinking like a crazy person. Still sniffing cocaine going in. KS: Was winning your seventh and eighth Grammy more of a thrill than winning your first one? You were certainly cleaner. MJB: Yeah, winning that one in 2007 was for a gospel duet named “Never Gonna Break My Faith” with Aretha Franklin. I mean, wow. Just to go up on that stage for that, I know it was God. KS: I know we’ve talked a lot about God today. But I do have a pet peeve about these awards shows like the Grammys when folks get up and thank God for their wins. I think God has a lot more on Her plate than to worry about who’s going to win a damn Grammy award. MJB: I think we have got to give God the glory. That’s just me. It’s not a cliché for me. KS: Even when you were using were you a believer in God? MJB: I loved God, but I didn’t love myself. When I would get really, really high and the daytime would come, I would feel like God was watching me. And that’s when I’d start to go into this panic thing. I remember one night I was soooooo high. And as I was trying to go to sleep there was this dream… mmmmm…. Gosh, man, I don’t know if I should be telling you all of this. But let me put it this way. I believe in God so much that I would not let the enemy win my soul. You know what I’m sayin’? God loves me no matter what. He loves me high. Sober. Gay. Straight. I can’t let the world tell me anything different. That’s how I survived, knowing He loved me no matter what. Because if I don’t believe that God loves me when I do wrong, I’m dead.
