Let me elaborate further without going into the reasons behind the Igbo coup of Jan 15 which was mainly to control the oil of the soon to be carved out Calabar-Ogoja-Rivers from the old Eastern region. Igbo greed saw them destroying federalism in place of a powerful Igbo dictatorship towards cornering the recent oil Wells in the ND to themselves.

Ask why Ojukwu was the only military governor to support decree 34 but when Ironsi was overthrown he started shouting for a return to true federalism at Aburi. What changed was the Igbo no longer controlled the powerful central govt that they created.

Now that is just a prologue .

With the Niger Delta liberated from Igbo forced annexation into Biafra, there were calls within the Gowon Junta to enter into talks to end the conflict and recognise the remaining Igbo strongholds that form the 5 contiguous Igbo states of present. Gowon wanted to do this and began holding clandestine talks with the Biafran govt. It is at this juncture that Igbos like Azikiwe and those behind the Jan 15 coup wanted Igbo land to be reintegrated into one Nijeriya. Ojukwu by now was power drunk and was enjoying his dictatorship on his fellow Igbos. This is when Igbos began working with federal forces to liberate their land from Ojukwu .

The Igbo can not rule themselves. You see it with their tin god governors who forget they were democratically elected or in the case of Hope Uzodinma expected to follow the Constitution which they rarely do.

Biaafra is not feasible to the majority Igbo without Niger Delta. This is why they are still bent on annexing the region 70 odd years after they were rejected.

As I warned earlier, the Igbo will soon begin to shout one nijeriya once the ND begins a separate movement for seccesion without them.

The Igbos have always worked against the economic and political ambitions of the south south since 1999.

Igbo senators walked out alongside northern colleagues during a debate for resource control . The then Igbo Senate president said it was against the interest of the Igbos to support resource for the ND as it will not profit them.

Be very careful with these Judases of the east.
