Who else has announced her coming back? |
We already know them and as we wish them the best in their business, we await their return in the industry. Kel was more of a flash in the pan rapper. After the mega success of her single Wa Wa Alright everything seemed to go downhill. We remember her fight with her Clarence Peters led record label didn’t help too. She now works with Cool TV. But we your fans awaits your return 2016. Muna never convinced us that she had what it takes to survive in this industry. Maybe it was her modelling background or the kind of music she put out, she just never did it for me. And judging from the trajectory of her short lived music career, we wish she will learn and storm 2016 real good. BOUQUI showed early signs of genius. Even though she focused mainly on Gospel music, she still released songs that everyone could vibe to. In recent times however, her output has dwindled. Some say her move back to the U.S.A may be responsible. She deserves some plaudits though because via her Unstoppable Rap Competition, she may have found in (Greatman, winner of the competition) the next star of Gospel rap. Eva’s rise to the top had the makings of a fairytale. Yes, she put in the required work, but some still feel the position she enjoys now boils largely down to luck. I say its her understanding of how the entertainment industry works that is responsible. You see, Eva understands that the 21st century Nigerian entertainer cannot be ‘one sided’ if he or she wants to be truly successful. We now have people who we thought were just singers producing hit tracks, Singers transforming into businessmen/women, singers transforming into good actors and video directors etc. In Eva’s case, the music is still a big part of her but she is also a successful makeup artist, model and writer. If you cannot recall any hit song of hers, then you must have seen her makeup works, or read an article of hers. These different parts of her help keep in her in the public eye. Here is a Femcee Nigerians should look up to for the judgement day. Kezy Swift premises to be fully involved in the rap game by 2016 following her King Kong Cover and Shakiti Bobo Cover mid this year. Currently on anticipation is an 'Afro Club Bang' (quoting her tweet) she titled BKT -Brukutu. Another Femcee that is attempting to carve a niche for herself is Mz Kiss. The Capital Hill signed artist has jumped on the indigenous rapper train and only time would tell how far she goes. Splash is another female indigenous rapper that has some buzz around her. Despite her new deal with Mbong Amata’s Bong House record label, I’m still waiting for her to outdo 2013 hit Church Agbasa. #TheList. #Viralwap |

See 5 Nigerian artists who failed to release an album in 2015 and why! 1. D’banj Eja Nla as D’banj is now called yet again failed to release his now perhaps less anticipated fourth studio album. The singer, however, released an EP in 2015 which got little or no attention from fans, critics and all. Since splitting from his erstwhile business partner and music producer Donjazzy, D’banj has failed to maintain or build upon the musical heights he attained while at Mo’hits records. As a matter of fact, his ranking has dropped in the Nigeria music scene. D’banj’s inability to record a hit song since the 2012 Oliver Twist is believed to be one factor working against the release of the much anticipated album. 2. K-switch K-swtich’s career has continued to stay in the background since his days at Mo’hits records. While his fellow lowkey act, D’Prince has released his debut album and hit singles, K-switch only managed to show a glimpse of the stuff he is made of with his 2013 hit, Obimo and failed to capitalize on the success of the song. He was practically inactive in 2015 also. 3. Davido With hit upon hit songs, sold out concerts in some African countries coupled with international collaboration, HKN lead act, Davido had a successful year but refused to consolidate on these gains by not releasing his sophomore album. Sources within HKN camp said the delay in the release of the album was due to an international distribution deal. He had promised on several occasions to release the album titled Baddest in 2015. 4. Wizkid With a monster hit song like Ojuelegba which later got the attention of the hottest rapper in world, Drake, Wizkid failed to release his third studio album. However, he maintained his champion on the Nigeria and African music scene churning out hits and jumping collaborations. He also had sold out concerts as well as a move to Glo from MTN. 5. Lil Kesh The YBNL star failed to jump on the opportunity of releasing some of the club bangers of 2015 to release his debut album. With songs like Efejoku, Gbese and Ladi, Lil Kesh would have released his debut but he let his boss, Olamide make history with 5 albums in 5 years.
