I'm asking because it's a lovely name and I'd like it for one of the protagonists in a story I'm writing. If it's male only do you know any alternatives with a similar meaning for girls (i.e. wait to enjoy life)? |

shocker007: The delay is at Stanbic, they said that though the funds are on hold they can't just debit his account without his consent although they said after a certain number of business days without response from him they would go ahead anyway. It's just really stressful, they're not giving me any concrete timeline and at Access all they can do is wait. |

Update: I'm currently working with both banks to recover the money in question though who knows how long that will take. And I was really hoping to use it this weekend. Also Bittertruthuass sent me another email claiming the funds have been reversed to my account and I should "clean up the mess" that I've made to "tarnish her good name". It's been over 36 hours since then and I haven't received any money here sooooo |
Literature / Does Anyone Know Where I Can Find Original African Folktales Online? by chaosattractor(f): 11:05am On May 13, 2016 |
I have several books of them (Anansi mostly), but a classmate of mine is doing some research and I was wondering if there are any online archives or at least a place she can order a compendium. She'd prefer books and collections curated by Africans and all the ones we've been able to turn up through Google are by white people. Thanks for your help! |

FrankValency: Oh no, "gift card guy" is lavinny who is a legitimate seller that I discovered after this wahala with Bittertruth had already started, he has his number posted on Nairaland so after calling and speaking with him I saved it as gift card guy so if he called me I would know at once what it's about. I posted it to prove that I was genuinely looking for gift cards and have purchased them without any issue. Bittertruth never gave me a phone number and "her" email address doesn't show a real name, in hindsight that should have been my first clue that something fishy was going on. |
Nairaland / General / Re: I'd Like Nairaland Member Bittertruthuass To Account For Herself Here In Public by chaosattractor(f): 11:11pm On May 10, 2016 |
shocker007: How did the card work out? I think you should try placing the order in both currencies (naira and USD) and see what each rate is Also I wonder where PaySolutions has gone |
Nairaland / General / Re: I'd Like Nairaland Member Bittertruthuass To Account For Herself Here In Public by chaosattractor(f): 6:29pm On May 10, 2016 |
shocker007: Stanbic still permits naira purchase. Not so much naira purchase as dynamic currency conversion. Access (my bank) used to do the same but must have recently stopped because the last time I bought something with my Nigerian card was in early March and I paid in naira as per usual. The person I eventually bought the cards from paid with Stanbic and in the receipt he sent to me (before the cards were delivered) he was charged in naira at about 208:1 which is Amazon's listed exchange rate. Though I paid him at 225:1 which I thought is a fair markup for the service. Yes I was a bit greedy in looking for a way to dodge the "official" rate but if I'd been banking with Stanbic or had a personal friend or family banking there I'd have bought the cards myself since Friday at 208:1. Edit: I agree about an escrow service or at least a subforum where buyers and sellers can have rep based on confirmed transactions. There should be a way for people to leave feedback that doesn't get buried under hundreds of other posts. |

treasuredkids: Well here you are. Sorry for the delay, I couldnt upload it here on Nairaland because of the file size so I had to put it on Dropbox instead. If you like, laugh at the peanuts in my account I'm not claiming to be perfect and in fact you can see from the emails that I too am very hot-headed but maybe now people will stop telling me that I am a man. lavinny I'm really sorry that your real name is involved, if it bothers you let me know and I'll take it down. In any case I'm only leaving this zip up for a short period after which I'll mark it as private and then anyone that wants it should PM me. Also for malicious people's information I will thoroughly ignore unsolicited calls or emails so keep that crap to a minimum please Same for people trying to pull up my past. Without further ado, here is the file. Oya Paysolutions please come and tell me how I'm a man. |

FrankValency: Fair enough. I guess it's just my nature to be argumentative, if someone is challenging me I find it difficult to keep my mouth shut. Bittertruth I hope you know that the DSP Ogbonna you claimed is looking for me in Panti Station in Yaba was transferred to Bauchi State several months ago and has since been promoted to superintendent. I just finished a phone conversation with him. You may want to update the lies you use to threaten people |
Nairaland / General / Re: I'd Like Nairaland Member Bittertruthuass To Account For Herself Here In Public by chaosattractor(f): 9:32am On May 10, 2016 |
PaySolutions: Is it Linda Ikeji or the police that invited him to the station? If truly the police wants to see me then they would have called me by now. They have my phone number, email address and numerous other forms of contact. On the other hand I am not moving one inch because of empty threats from a civilian over the Internet. I don't answer to Bittertruthuass, I only answer to a man or woman in uniform. But keep jerking yourself off because I ain't interested in your crap. Chaos out until 1PM when I will be posting all my archives. Bittertruth, last chance, either you respond here or you respond to my mails. |
Nairaland / General / Re: I'd Like Nairaland Member Bittertruthuass To Account For Herself Here In Public by chaosattractor(f): 9:21am On May 10, 2016 |
No-one is compelled to visit any police station without a warrant. You can't just order people to drop what they're doing and start running from pillar to post because of you. I've told her that either a) she should give the police my phone number which I provided so they can speak to me and tell me themselves to come to the station or b) she should scan and send the warrant or subpoena or whatever for my "arrest" and I will honour it. Since she has done neither I'm chilling in my room with a nice cup of iced tea. I'd like to note that the deadline of 24 hours is drawing nearer so since Bittertruthuass has nothing to say perhaps she really wants me to drag her here on Nairaland. |

Nairaland / General / Re: I'd Like Nairaland Member Bittertruthuass To Account For Herself Here In Public by chaosattractor(f): 11:23pm On May 09, 2016 |
Infinitikoncept: It's because I don't want names to be involved yet that I'm not posting the emails and so on. If I did you'll see that she jumped straight to calling me a fraudster, monkey and all sorts of names without even attempting to meet me halfway after I'd given her account statement, screenshot of my account, even a reference number. If she was truly straightforward she would have contacted me to let me know she hasn't received an alert instead of leaving me to ping her for over 24 hours. Not to mention that after showing her all that at least she could show me her own side for me to see that she hasn't received it, then the next thing will be to call the banks and verify that the transaction isn't hung up somewhere. I would even have gone to the bank myself to make sure the transaction was completed but how can I do that when all she's doing is to insult me and tell me she's placing a warrant for my arrest? In any case she has given me nothing, I owe her nothing so I have every right to take my money back. Even if it's a misunderstanding I wouldn't want to do business with someone that rude and uncouth anyway. You should see some of the things she was calling me. Not to mention, she has been on Nairaland today and even viewed this thread so if she has anything to say she has had more than enough opportunity to say it. If she like let her claim she's staying in sambisa or Siberia e no concern anyone Obviously he's never heard of people going to school and coming home for summer holz. Some people sef. |
Technology Market / Re: Exchange Rates Of International Currencies >>>Updates on First Page<<< by chaosattractor(f): 11:11pm On May 09, 2016 |
jesbu: Amazon wouldn't do that without reason. Are you sure your transactions have been straightforward? If you're using your own card linked to a bank account with your own address then you shouldn't need to do any verification because the bank guarantees that in allowing the payment to be processed. If they're asking for bank statements that means something doesn't line up somewhere. Your billing address on Amazon should perfectly match the permanent address on your bank account. Go back and confirm that. Then instead of asking Nairalanders who don't know anybody at Amazon from Adam to help, call them or email their customer service. You'll end up emailing the scanned documents to them because no-one faxes anymore but don't do that without speaking to them first otherwise there's no guarantee that the right person will see it and attach it to your account. If they cancelled your order, you should have received a refund by now. Call your bank and confirm that, and also see if they were given any more details about the failed transaction. Good luck and next time be careful to keep your personal details straight across every platform that you use. 3 Likes |

PaySolutions: I've already reported you to the mods but now you're just trying my patience. I consider myself a woman of my word so I will not post anything about Bittertruthuass until the 24 hours are up, but as it is you're sorely tempting me to damn it to hell and incriminate her to kingdom come. |

Nairaland / General / Re: I'd Like Nairaland Member Bittertruthuass To Account For Herself Here In Public by chaosattractor(f): 9:08pm On May 09, 2016 |
PaySolutions: Do you think I'm an infant for you to toy with? Full name and government ID ke? I ain't obligated to give you jack shit and frankly you're irritating me. If you keep this up I'll simply report you to the mods because you're blatantly lying for who knows what agenda. Maybe you'll be able to give them your proof that I'm a "man" who contacted you to look for gift cards. I have records of my emails, messages, phone calls and other forms of communication so I'm sure you have yours to show. Looking at your post history it seems you're into scamming people too so I'm just not going to touch your shit with a barge pole. Tell your friend that since she can't show her face here she'd better pray that the transfer is reversed before the 24 hours are up. Because if not both banks have advised me to file a report with the police or EFCC, but I was willing to keep all this to just Nairaland if I got my money back since I've been able to buy what I wanted from a legitimate seller. Remember that BVN can be used to trace people. |
Nairaland / General / Re: I'd Like Nairaland Member Bittertruthuass To Account For Herself Here In Public by chaosattractor(f): 8:48pm On May 09, 2016 |
PaySolutions: Lmfao how much did Bittertruth pay you to come and lie here? Or are you one of her alternate accounts that she uses to scam people? Anyone who wants to know my identity can email me upon which they will see my email address with associated social network profiles. Also do you think Nairalanders are stupid or blind? They have eyes and can see for themselves that none of my posts on Nairaland even mention gift cards. I'm so sure "PaySolutions" will be able to provide even a single screenshot of me ever even saying hello to him in my life to talk of trying to buy a gift card. Keep screaming in allcaps though. To top it off I've since conducted a purchase with an actual trustworthy and sensible seller @lazinny who kept in contact throughout the transaction, provided several confirmations of his own and delivered the cards I needed promptly. Is there somewhere on Nairaland that you can endorse or recommend legitimate traders? Because I would like to do so. In the meantime I will still keep to my 24 hour promise. Once that period is up I'm going to post everything connected to this issue in this thread and others since Bittertruthuass is clearly too much of a coward to own up to her bullshit in public. If she is even a woman to begin with. |

ozor1: Abi? See how I've mumu'd myself. Anyway at least now anybody else that's considering it will have hard proof so they won't throw away their time and money. Still hoping she just quietly resolves this because I don't like embarrassing people or dragging them in public. I don't want this to go to the extent of real names and bank details. |
Nairaland / General / Re: I'd Like Nairaland Member Bittertruthuass To Account For Herself Here In Public by chaosattractor(f): 5:17pm On May 09, 2016 |
No, she has not responded to my last email. Since she's clearly not interested in legitimate business I have contacted my bank and hers (Stanbic) and they said they will place the transfer on hold and see how they can go about reversing it. If she doesn't respond or contact me within 24 hours then I'll have no choice but to post the details of all this here so others will know what they're getting into if they want to do business with her. |

Nairaland / General / Re: I'd Like Nairaland Member Bittertruthuass To Account For Herself Here In Public by chaosattractor(f): 1:25pm On May 09, 2016 |
I just want to note that she's now threatening to come and arrest me personally. This is turning into something else. Bittertruthuass, if you want to threaten me please do it in public where people can see you. After all if really I am "scamming" you you shouldn't have anything to fear from this thread. |
Nairaland / General / Re: I'd Like Nairaland Member Bittertruthuass To Account For Herself Here In Public by chaosattractor(f): 1:10pm On May 09, 2016 |
I don't know how to settle it amicably when she's insulting me and saying she has reported me to the police. Maybe she will be more inclined to discuss it calmly and rationally when her public reputation is at stake. |
