Nollywood actress Ngozi Ezeonu has reacted to rumours making the round that her weight loss is health related; insisting she only worked on her body.

Recently, Ngozi Ezeonu has been posting pictures of herself on Facebook clearly showing that she had lost an incredible amount of weight. Her fans who she think have doctor turned have diagnosed all manner of illness to this regard.

Ngozi in a swift reaction has refuted the claims. “I will really appreciate it if some people will stop insinuating that I’m sick just because I worked on my weight. Please o I’m not sick. Wish us well instead of sickness or death. Thank u’, she wrote on her Facebook page.

Fans may have reacted this way following a similar incident recorded with another plus-sized Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu who had stepped out late last year for weeks looking all slim and trim provoking similar rumours of illness which she had bluntly denied before eventually admitting

Ngozi Nwosu was suffering from heart and kidney related ailments and had eventually cried to the public for help.

Nigeria News - In conjunction with the International Organisation for Immigration (IOM), no fewer than 100 Nigerians, including women and children, were Monday repatriated from Tunisia.

This is coming seven months after 26 illegal immigrants including eight Nigerians were repatriated by Mozambique immigration authorities and will bring to 686 Nigerians that have been evacuated from Tunisia, Libya and Gabon since 2011.
Information made available to PressGist revealed that out of the 90 returnees, 17 are females, while 73 are males including 14 teenagers.

Also, amongst the returnees were a five-month-old baby and a year old toddler. While 77 of the returnees were from Edo State, eight were from Delta State and the others were drawn from Lagos, Imo, Kano, and Plateau States.

THISDAY gathered that the IOM, a United Nations body in the forefront of repatriating nationals of other countries from war-torn countries, had written the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on its plan to evacuate the affected persons who were victims of the Arab Spring uprising in Tunisia.

The Arab Spring revolution in Tunisia in 2011 resulted in the overthrow of President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali leading to the conduct of the first free elections in the country.

However, the after effects of the revolution saw some Nigerians displaced and their source of livelihood disrupted, turning some of them into refugees, which prompted the intervention of the IOM.

Although the returnees were expected to arrive the Cargo Wing of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) at about 1 pm Monday, NEMA officials were however notified around 5 pm that the returnees were yet to take off following the late arrival of the aircraft's landing permit.

This is coming after it as reported that NANS threatened to embark on shutting down of private universities in Nigeria if the Federal Government does not respond to ASUU’s demands on time.

The proprietors of private universities in the country have called on the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) to appeal to those managing the education sector in the country rather than threaten to seal off privately- owned universities over the protracted strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

Speaking on the threat by NANS to seal off privately owned universities at the weekend in Akure, the Vice Chancellor of Babcock University, Professor James Makinde and the President of the Western Union of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Nigeria, Dr Oyeleke Owolabi, described the threat as an empty one.

Makinde said the students body had no right under the Nigerian law to take such action over the lingering ASUU strike, saying all the universities were licensed to operate under the nation’s law.

The VC, who spoke alongside Dr Owolabi at a press conference organised during the Union constituency, said if the failure of NITEL could not affect privately- owned telecommunications companies in the country, then the students could not embark on such action.
