TheSuperNerd:
It's crazy how since Kanu Nwankwo did it in 2000, no Nigerian player has done it. I even doubt past Naija stars has done it before him pre-2000.

On his Afcon debut, Kanu dropped 3 assists🅰️🅰️🅰️ vs Tunisia in the 4-2 win in Lagos.

A true goal creator masterclass clinic that has never been repeated by any other Nigerian player.

Iwobi came close. Mikel came close. Chukwueze came close. Akor came close. Lookman came very very close. All had 2 assists in one Afcon game.

But none has bagged 3 in one game like Kanu.

Or am I wrong?

Kanu may not have scored a goal at the Afcon but the magic he wielded in direct goal involvements via assists between 2000 and 2010 was damn special.
and the 3 assists from Kanu were world class

Who else was impressed with Bright Osayi-Samuel? That boy has always impressed me since he joined us. He is levels above Alebiosu for sure.
I liked his tenacity today and his link-up with Onyeka.

Also another player that surprises me of late is Bruno Onyemaechi

Well, he is not exactly playing as a traditional 10. He is playing as a trequartista interpreting it as an seconda Punta (SS - 8 ). But the idea at its core was bright.

I made a post years back suggesting that Ademola Lookman should be deployed as a No 10.
I have been looking for that post in the myriad of posts that I have made on this thread.
Lookman wasn’t deployed as a 10 by Chelle but as a false 9/Auxilliary striker who make runs to the middle when the 2 deployed strikers (Akor and Osimhen) are down on the flanks

Rest the agenda abeg

He played a decisive part in that run. He was also their top scorer in the league. We don't like them but saying they've not produced world class players is a stretch.
yes he did and I never denied that fact but he wasnt world class and was at the same level with our own Yak

Never is a stretch. McCarthy and radebe were world class during their time.
Radebe and McCarthy world class? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Radebe wasn’t even better than Inter’s Taribo West (West at his prime) or Ghana’s Kuffor during his Bayern days

if you are mentioning Ikpeba Kanu Mikel then Benny and Radebe too deserve to be on the same table. At his peak Radebe was probably a top 5 or maybe top 10 defender in the EPL, McCarthy had a fantastic career at Ajax and Porto, had the type of career most exeagles can only dream of
Wetin this one dey talk? The only edge McCarthy have over Yakubu Aiyegbeni is the UCL he won with Porto 🤣🤣🤣

Head to head results are one of the most direct measures of competitive superiority. If Mali consistently beats South Africa when they actually face each other on the pitch, then it shows they can handle the pressure and tactics of that specific opponent when it matters.

Historical achievements from decades ago no go help you win the match wey go happen today today.
Bros stop arguing. In terms of African football SA has more pedegree than Mali

Mali wey never smell afcon trophy let alone qualifying for the World Cup na wey u take dey compare SA?

Haba!!

World Cup qualification wey dem qualify properly for this first time in 20 years. No wam. grin

Anyway, head to head, Mali is better.
head to head Mali tops SA doesn’t mean they have more pedegree over them

SA na yoyo team but hv achieved more than Mali in football
