Politics / (Video And Excerpts) APGA NEC Appoints Soludo As National Leader Of The Party. by Charming1(m): 9:27am On Jan 14, 2023

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eh6o2VnC7m4
EXCERPTS OF GOVERNOR CHUKWUMA CHARLES SOLUDO'S, CFR, ACCEPTANCE SPEECH (EXTEMPORE) ON HIS ELECTION AS NATIONAL LEADER OF APGA

It is with a sense of humility and gratitude to God, that i humbly accept the honour of being the national leader of APGA.

This has humbled me! I'm feeling the weight of history right now. The All Progressives Grand Alliance is a coalition of all progressives. I feel the weight of our forebearers and those who have sacrificed their lives to ensure the survival of this great party

There was a grand progressive alliance in the first and second republics that included the UPN, RPP, NPP, and others.

APGA is a 21-year-old political party that was the first to be registered with the word "progressives" in its name. Fortuitously, it is registered with 'grand alliance' of progressives. APGA, therefore is the home for all progressives. It is a history with two leaders, and I'm honored to be the third

I must pay tribute to my predecessors, Late Sir Chukwuemeka Ojukwu of blessed memory, the first National Leader of APGA, Chief Willie Obiano, my immediate predecessor as APGA's second leader, and here I am.

I pledge to work every day, every second, every minute, every hour with all of you, our thronging members, so that all progressives in Nigeria will know that APGA is their home.

APGA is the third largest political party in Nigeria and will continue to grow from strength to strength. When the country is ready, APGA will be there to provide the true progressivism that Nigeria needs

APGA has the potential to make Nigeria the world's largest black nation. APGA has the potential to expand its domain in Nigeria. We have representation in the Governorship, House of Representatives, and National House of Assembly.

We have a responsibility to work very hard to maintain and expand our pace

This great party has my personal commitment. I came to this platform after many thoughtful years, and I read the party's constitution and manifesto. It is the first political party to pledge support for true federalism.

APGA is still the road map to a better Nigeria. I will uphold this party's principles and ethics

Because our motto is "leave no one behind," our policies and programmes are centered on the people. APGA promotes competitiveness, competence, and a unified Nigeria.

We didn't care which state you were from when we were recruiting. We will hire you once you have proven to be the best! We began paying the teachers we hired during their documentation.

We increased employees' pay by 10%. This is a pro-people government because that is who we are. We leave no one behind, which is why we are progressives who care about people.

We are working on power to provide 24-hour power. We're getting started. People will have access to high-speed wifi and internet, thanks to the installation of 2000 kilometers of fiber optic cable

We are living the true essence of our party, which is progressivism and unity.

APGA will win in the coming months, and then the real work will begin. We will run for every office in the country and, by God's grace, we will win.

I must commend APGA's outstanding leadership, particularly in difficult circumstances. This leadership you have demonstrated will benefit future generations of APGA supporters. We must work hard to preserve our party's name and greatness.

Thank you.

A lot of people who worked with Peter understand that he’s a masquerade. I have never met Peter before or worked with him as a Governor but what I hear about his personality is ugly. Such a Sadist with no empathy. His aides suffered, some quit their jobs because Peter couldn’t see them wear good clothes without suspecting stuffs. Working with Peter, you need to pretend to be suffering or hungry so he can he happy with you.

SOLUDO SIGNS 2023 BUDGET OF ACCELERATION INTO LAW, ASSURES OF PRIORITIZING ALL SECTORS SIMULTANEOUSLY

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo CFR on 14th December signed the 2023 appropriation budget approximately N260 Billion naira.

The brief ceremony was performed at the Governor's Lodge, Amawbia.

Addressing the media, the Governor appreciated the State House of Assembly for the expeditious passage of the budget.

"The more fundamental job has been done by the State House of Assembly," the Governor said.

"I want to thank the parliament particularly for this productive partnership. We are partners in this transformation agenda for Anambra State.

"The Leadership has shown capacity and passed this budget into law while we strive assiduously to lead Anambra into the land of our dreams as we promised the people.

"This is a budget of acceleration in spite of all the odds and challenges in the country but, we are still pressing the accelerator for takeoff.

"This budget prioritizes major areas of focus for Anambra State; Security, law and order, economic transformation and human capital development, etc" the Governor noted.

"Once more, I want to thank the State House of Assembly for expeditiously and painstaking making this budget a success and signing it into law.

"That's the Anambra spirit. We get things done! Thanks to the speaker, the State house of Assembly and the whole team.

"Thanks to everyone who was able to make it early this morning. It's quite a remarkable day.

"We are set to deliver for next year! With the budget in hand, let's get it done, the Governor maintained.

Commenting further, the Governor said that he will get all the pillars of the budget simultaneously done; Security, Law and order, social agenda, health, education, human capital development, power, technology, industrial parks, agriculture, commerce; "we are leaving no one behind.

"We are hitting everywhere, reforming the government, promoting accountability and prudence, digitizing our land registries.

"Our environment is an existential threat. We shall desilt, control our drainages and erosions, waste management; none of them can wait until the others are done.

"The accelerator pedal has five pedals and we will keep pedalling simultaneously, that's the way we can get it in order. The sequence doesn't mean the other will be left behind.

"Our human capital is our major resource. Our overall agenda is to make Anambra a liveable and prosperous smart megacity and this budget contributes to the glorious Anambra we dream of.

"The parliament had earlier in June approved for the government to borrow 100 Billion naira to fund this budget but up to this moment, we haven't borrowed a dime.

"We are hitting the ground running. Our focus is that Anambra maintain fiscal sustainability. Anambra will continue to win.

"We are swinging into action to get our roads motorable," the Governor stressed.

"We faced unprecedented flooding causing roads to be washed off. These are major interventions the government has embarked upon and the massive construction that is ongoing.

"Anambra is spending close to two Billion naira on Federal roads because most of them are not motorable. Our people are facing untold hardships passing through these roads.

"These are some of the strategic interventions the State Government has embarked upon. They are not the typical palliatives but built to last.

"We are delivering quality roads to our people and ensuring the palliatives endure for sometime.

In attendance were the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Speaker, Anambra House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dh8599bC2g4
GOVERNOR SOLUDO THANKS THE NIGERIAN MILITARY AND OTHER SECURITY FORCES FOR THEIR GALLANTRY, PROFESSIONALISM, DEDICATION AND COMMITMENT IN THE FIGHT AGAINST INSECURITY IN ANAMBRA STATE

BEING EXCERPTS FROM THE GOVERNOR'S STATEWIDE BROADCAST ON THE SECURITY SITUATION IN ANAMBRA

Our nine months in office has been a journey to serve ndi Anambra and transform the state into a liveable and prosperous homeland that we promised our people.

The first key agenda of our five major pillars happens to relate to security, law and order and this is the aspect that I want to specifically talk about, to say to our people, where we were at the time I was sworn into office on the 17th of March 2022 and where we are today, which shows the difference between day and night.

On the 17th of March 2022, eight local governments were literally under siege, taken over by criminals and hoodlums in various camps set up in these local governments.

This is my first Christmas in my nine months in office as Governor of Anambra State. I would like to use the opportunity to felicitate with all the Anambra people, the millions at home and the more millions in the diaspora celebrating Christmas and New Year.

By the grace of God, those 8 local governments have been totally liberated. Law and order seems to be returning back to Anambra. All the camps have been decimated and some of the deadly criminals have been taken out for good.

A few days ago, we had over eighty of these touts 'agberos' harassing people around Upper Iweka and environs, taken into custody and to be prosecuted and probably jailed.

We are trying to keep our streets safe from touts and criminals. Though we may never have a crime free society but comparatively, I don't know any state in Nigeria that is safer than Anambra.

I want to commend all the citizens of Anambra and the stakeholders who harken to our call that 'If you see something, say something, if you say something, do something'. And to our youths who have taken the destiny of this state into their hands; to our women and men who had contributed in assisting the government to get hold of criminals in the state. Thank you all.

Two weeks ago, one criminal in far away Finland declared five days sit at home but ndi Anambra defied the order! Not a single day was observed.

Thousands of our people returned back home for Christmas and that is why the streets are all busy.

I want to commend our special task forces that we set up to ensure free flow of traffic. In recent decades, this is the first time we have the most free flow of traffic in the state.

I saw a video of the traffic at Head Bridge and people where manning the place 24 hours a day, and the other locations at Nnobi, Ekwulobia, Nkpor, Awka, Abagana, 33 Onitsha, etc, to ensure that our people move freely.

I want to commend the security agencies, the Anambra Road Traffic Management Agency, the OCHA Brigade, the Vigilante Services, the Anambra youths who have volunteered to serve our people, to keep our streets safe, restore law and order.

I want to use this occasion to specially appreciate the law enforcement agencies; the Nigerian Army, the Navy, the Police, the DSS, the Civil Defense and of course, our very gallant Anambra Vigilante Services and all the volunteers.

To all the ndi Anambra who have risen up to the occasion, helping to organize the local vigilantes, providing logistics, donation to the security trust fund and those helping in their own little ways to make sure we have a safer homeland.

There is still work to be done, there are still challenges and all hands must continue to be on deck.

I want to commend all the armed forces who put their lives on the line to have our people sleep with their two eyes closed.

All those who have paid the supreme sacrifice just to keep Anambra safe, several of them died needlessly I must say. May their souls rest in peace.

These criminals want the security officers out of the road but fortunately, we thank God that they have remained resolute.

We will continue to provide all the support that we can to all the security forces as government and as a people of Anambra.

What they are doing, the sacrifices that they make their commitments and FOBs, we will continue to strengthen them and make them even stronger to keep our people safe and secured.

In normal circumstances, these road blocks wouldn't have been needed but this is what we brought up on ourselves.

Our people taking up arms in the bushes, involved in criminality so to speak. Since they have decided to operate in an abnormal way, we now need an abnormal solution.

It's not about the most convenient but the most effective. In this circumstance and until the insecurity situation comes down to near zero, we will continue to have the road blocks and FOBs in place.

Ndi Anambra need more security check points (FOBs) in the coming days, weeks and months because they are very critical in restoring the peace and order being enjoyed in the state so far.

I want to thank every ndi Anambra who have been involved. Everyone has a role to play on the road ahead.

The youths must rise and take their destinies into their hands because their future is on the line, the future of their children and grandchildren. It is your future we are keeping awake everyday to secure.

I want to use this medium again to appeal to those in the bush and forest, the criminals out there, the kidnappers to come out. We are offering them the opportunity to retrain them and help them start a new productive life.

The course you have taken by being in the bush is one that leads to nowhere. It is not going to take you to anywhere. Criminality cannot pay you in the long term.

It pains to see these young youths wasting away. You have a future and this government is prepared to work with you to give a new future so that Anambra, the light of the Nation will continue to shine.

Once more, I thank all of you, Ndị Anambra. Thank our partners in progress. Thank all the security forces for their gallantry, professionalism, dedication and commitment to see Ndị Anambra sleep with their two eyes closed.

Our journey to a liveable and prosperous homeland is on course.

Thank you very much.
