Politics / Soludo Transforms 18 Years Of Dumpsite To A Waterfountain In Ochanja (photos) by Charming1(m): 8:41am On Mar 30

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otormMC5lEI

THE OCHANJA FACELIFT

On April 2, 2022 governor Soludo Made a visit to Ochaja, not only did he notice a collapsed town but a place that was literally unplanned for 18 years and used as a refuse dump by other similar unplanned neighboring towns.

The story of Ochanja Roundabout, a known site for refuse dump, is magical.

At this same spot a few months ago, Governor Soludo stood on a heap of trash measuring over 25 feet in height.

Today, this exact spot is undergoing a serious transformation, and a water fountain is springing forth from it.

This is #24MonthsOfSoludo without borrowing "shi-shi" and a reminder t governance is not rocket science.

The last time I was driving down to the terrifying Ochanja roundabout (turned to refuse dump) from Niger Street I was greatly amazed at what Urban Renewal and Regeneration has done.

During the campaign in 2021 we couldn’t access the road because it was totally blocked. Immediately after the handover on March 17th 2022, when Mr Governor was going about telling Ndi Anambra that “Anambra Ga Adiriri Ocha” the place was totally messed up with all the refuse at Fegge environs being dumped there.

Fast forward to some weeks back during the commissioning of Port Harcourt Street and Niger Street, the once irritating Ochanja Roundabout is already wearing a new look.

The message is simple! Making Anambra an enviable habitat can only be difficult to achieve but not impossible and with the determination of Charlie Nwa Mgbafor our Governor we can have a new Anambra!

He promised us a smart, clean, secured, prosperous and livable Anambra and bit by bit! Even if our past governors have failed, we can trust our amiable Governor.

Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo has continued to prove that he is not the type of politician that use unattainable promises to win elections.

Politics / Soludo’s 483KM Road Revolution In Anambra State, A Mark Of 2years In Office by Charming1(m): 10:58am On Mar 19

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbubgnphMqU
SOLUDO FULFILLS PROMISE, COMMISSIONS ADDITIONAL 12 KM ROADS IN OKPOKO (483 IN TOTAL)

Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has inaugurated the 12 kilometers of roads in Okpoko roads, in Ogbaru Local Government Area.

This is out of the 15 kilometres awarded by the present administration.

The joy of the people of Okpoko knew no bounds as they thronged the venue of the road inauguration to appreciate Governor Soludo

Addressing the people, Governor Soludo recalled with nostalgia the historical significance of the Okpoko road, with about half a million people deprived of basic facilities such as pipe-borne water, street lights, General Hospital, among others.

Expressing concern about the situation, the Governor maintained that the area constitutes the major urban regeneration agenda of his administration and had been hampered and devastated by perennial flood.

Governor Soludo stressed that his administration would not relent in providing the needed infrastructure facilities such as pipe-borne water, street lights, good road network to the area.

He observed that Okpoko was the first place he visited immediately after his inauguration, pointing out that people used to spend hours moving by the Obodoukwu road due to its deplorable condition as it had adversely affected commercial activities in the area.

Governor Soludo described the area as one of the largest urban slums in the South East, expressing optimism that the road would stimulate the economy and improve the life of the people of the area.

The governor further hinted that the Atani -Ozubulu road which is ongoing would soon be completed just as he sent a strong warning to the contractor handling the Ogwuikpelle road to expedite work or risk his contract been terminated.

The Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr. Somtochukwu Udeze explained that the roads were completed in record time, saying that the Governor has delivered all the campaign promises he made to the people of the area, noting that his people would reciprocate the gesture in the coming election.

Earlier in a remark, the Transition Committee Chairman of Ogbaru Local Government Area, Mr. Paschal Aniegbunam and the member representing Ogbaru, Constituency 1 in the state House of Assembly, Mr Noble Igwe appreciated the Governor for fulfilling his campaign promise to the people, even as they pledged continued support by the people for his administration.

They added that since 1999, the people had been neglected by successive administrations.

Governor Soludo also had a stopover to inspect the level of work at the General Hospital in Okpoko, already installed street lights, pipe-borne water.

Highpoint of the event was the symbolic cutting of tape by some of the residents as well as the elderly in the area.

The Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim accompanied the Governor to the event which was also attended by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr Ernest Ezeajughi, Chief Protocol, Hon Chinedu Nwoye among others.

ONITSHA: SEE WHAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY THAT THE CAMERAS DIDN’T SHOW YOU

I often look out for underlying meanings behind actions especially as I work for a Boss who is not dramatic yet conveys far reaching lessons with every action he takes.

Just as we arrived the venue for the commissioning of Niger Street and Port Harcourt road, the State Protocol team approached the State box to brief Governor Soludo on the event flow having drawn up a list of “eminent” persons who would speak to the people, remember it was a live event airing real-time on major National television stations. Instantly Governor Soludo without prior notice changed the program, in his words, “I appreciate that these Stakeholders you have listed here have to speak. But, I think today should be strictly for and about the people. We are not here to praise or score ourselves, I think I want to listen to the people’s reaction and I am not commissioning any of these roads. Get the leader of the Keke and Shuttle union in the area or their representatives and the leader of the Market union to speak and commission the roads. Ours is to get the job done to their satisfaction. We are here to listen to them. It is their project”.

At this point, I got confused because I understand the risk in allowing such unpredictable redirection especially on a live National television, knowing how daring and audacious Onitsha locals and residents can be. The event kicked of in line with the Governor’s directives, and to the enlightenment of all that were present it became an event of revelations and historic symbolisms.

Politics / WATCH: Soludo’s Housing And Infrastructure Development So Far by Charming1(m): 12:16pm On Mar 07

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIkUqgoUohk

Housing which is about building development for human beings is one of the key aspects of urban regeneration and development. Housing plays a major role in achieving a master plan of any city or society. However in Anambra State, for instance, housing development has over the years been considered a threat to the environment by experts given the manner at which buildings are erected.

Some of these challenges which include environmental degradation, have made Governor Chukwuma Soludo to prioritize housing development in his Livable and Prosperous Anambra agenda. Housing development is at the heart of this agenda to make Anambra State a smart mega city.

Recently, Anambra State Government began demolition of some structures built on waterways around Onitsha in line with the agenda to reclaim the environment. Many of such buildings had contributed to erosion menace facing the state. Today, Anambra takes a high rank as one of the erosion prone states in Nigeria and this has become a great concern to the Governor given the threat it poses not just to the environment but to life and economy of the state.

Anambra is the second smallest state in Nigeria by land mass but is getting smaller by the day due to erosion menace and the effort by the state government is to cub the situation. This growing environmental threat has made checking housing development inevitable by Governor Soludo through the new housing policy. The Governor is particular about housing development, how best to get it done for the purpose to be achieved, which is providing comfort and relaxation.

Away from construction of roads, bridges, other infrastructures, human capital development, security, agricultural development among other obligations of the government, making the environment conducive for development is also paramount. Housing development as one key sector in any developing society is at the heart of building a livable and prosperous Anambra State which is the core agenda of Governor Soludo’s led administration.

What is it about housing development that we need to know as ndi Anambra? They are all contained in the new Anambra State Housing Development Policy which the Anambra State Housing Commissioner, Honourable Paully Onyeka has been announcing daily. First is that no building should occupy more than 65 percent of the total compound. Secondly, there must be a green veggie, trees and flowers planted within and around the compound, at least two trees.

To cub erosion menace facing the state, piping water out from the compound to the road or bush is prohibited and considered an environmental crime with serious penalty. For estates, they should be planned in such a way that movements within the them should be easy and general buildings such as hospital, schools, shopping malls, churches, etc should be centralized. No house should be built on waterways to avoid flooding.

Developers are also advised to always go through the Anambra State Physical Planning Board for proper approval and Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, for areas within the capital territory. Let us join hands to save our environment. Indeed, a Livable and Prosperous Smart Anambra State is possible if we are law abiding. The Solution is truly here with us and we have to play our part in building a new Anambra State.

LIGHT UP SOUTHEAST INITIATIVE: Governor Soludo and other south east Governors commend the National Assembly for removing power from the exclusive legislative list to the concurrent legislative list but called for the unlocking of gas from the exclusive legislative list to the concurrent legislative list to enable governors to tap into the opportunity for their states.

Soludo assured that Anambra will grant "Right of Way" to any power infrastructure project without hindrance.

At Enugu State, the VP Kashmi Shettima formally flagged off the Light Up Nigeria, South East. It is a part of the much-expected solution to the power supply deficit that has undermined the nation's economy and industrialisation.

At the event attended by political and business leaders from the region, I noted that the Light Up Nigeria Project, which is part of the priorities set by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to revamp the nation's economy and ensure rapid industrialization, heralds renewed hope for industrialists, investors and Nigerians who had to bear the brunt of the country's power challenges for so long.

The project, a collaboration between the Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited (NDPHC) and its partners, is targeted at revamping Nigeria's infrastructure framework with the much-needed drive in empowering Nigerians and strengthening the economic policies of the Tinubu administration.

From Enugu, I proceeded to Aba to commission the 181MW Geometric power plant in Aba, Abia State to accelerate power supply to industrial clusters in the region.

Residents of Fegge, Onitsha South Local Government area have poured encomiums on the Governor of Anambra state, Professor Chukwuma Soludo CFR, for what they tagged 'Solution Giant Strides in Onitsha'.

They gave the commendations when the Governor attended a town hall meeting with Fegge Landlords Association and residents held last Friday at Fegge.

The Chairman of the Onitsha South chapter of All Progressive Grand Alliance, (APGA), Chief Uche C. Umennakenyi, said that the governor has made them proud by constructing the Port Harcourt road and other roads in Fegge and urged him not to relent in making the state a better place to live in.

He vowed that those who dump refuse into the drainages and block the road would not go unpunished adding that the governor's achievements would speak for him come 2025 gubernatorial election.

The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has vowed to offer #10 million to the first street in Onitsha to complete their repainting from February 1 to March 10 this year.

The Governor made this vow through the Commissioner for environment, Mr Felix Odimegwu during an interactive session with Onitsha landlords at Onitsha South Local Government Area Secretariat on February 5.

According to him, the runners up will receive #5 million while the third position will smile home with #3 million.

"We are here for the follow up of the last visit here where our governor sent his deputy to come and interact with the Fegge landlords on degeneration and facelift of Onitsha.

"We want to do this thing in three folds; repainting, where the governor brought out a challenge 'Ka Anambra Chakee' which prompted him to set a cash gift to any street that comes together, discuss and embark on this initiative, paint from street end to street end.

"It is the wish of the governor to embark on this initiative. He said that he would be here on Friday for you to see him and hear also that he is the one that sent us here. This is an agenda that is not hard to do and also it is for our health benefit.

"Another one is cleaning of drainages. Onitsha was last rated as the dirtiest place in West Africa but this government since it came, is deliberate to change Onitsha from the present narrative and place it on the right direction it should be.

"Since solid roads constructions are going on, it will be an eyesore that the environment, buildings within these roads are dilapidated, we all know that paints help in protecting houses, so we are here to appreciate the governor.

"Fegge is well planned, when we painted all our houses, plant trees, it will make your properties valuable, appreciate naturally and also conducive for foreign investors and businesses."

Politics / Soludo Settles 14 Years Non-payment Of Anambra Water Corporation Since Peter Obi by Charming1(m): 9:58am On Feb 08

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQnkKV17vr4

The Anambra State Government has resolved a 14 years lingering issue between the defunct Anambra State Water Corporation and Anambra Sate Government which dates back to 2009. The urgency of this matter stems from a judgment by the National Industrial Court of Nigeria on 3rd June, 2019 resulting in the garnishing of Anambra state government's account.

The Anambra state Water Corporation and Anambra state Environmental Protection Agency (ANSEPA) were functional until there was an increase in minimum wage in 2005.

Efforts made by the union to have discussions before now failed. They resorted to the Industrial Arbitration Panel (IAP) which was between the Union and Anambra state government through the Federal Ministry of Labour. The Union won the IAP award. After that, nothing was paid to the workers and the union resolved to go to the National Industrial Court.

The salaries continued to accumulate because there was no government white paper on the status of the workers.

The state government led by Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR thought it wise to resolve this issue that has lingered for 14 years through an out of court settlement. This led to the constitution of the following committees; the Out of Court Settlement Committee, Technical Committee, Verification Committee, and Biometrics Committee.

The committees' efforts were instrumental to preventing further garnishing of the state government's accounts. Specifically, the Out of Court Settlement Committee had four sittings; the Technical Committee had eight sittings. The Verification Committee conducted exercises
from July 12, 2023, to September 26, 2023, and the Biometrics Committee captured all verified staff.

The Governor of Anambra State Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR approved that some of the staff who are found fit be absorbed into service after the conduct of a needs assessment exercise. The Union has agreed to the outcome of the exercise hence the signing of the terms of settlement in the office of the Head of Service on the 6th day of February, 2024 bringing to an end the case which has lingered for 14 years.

Present at the signing were the Head of Service, Barr. Theodora Igwegbe MNI, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Prof. Sylvia Ifemeje and the Commissioner for Power, Water Resources and Public Utilities, Mr Julius Chukwuemeka. Others include the Accountant General of the State, Dr. Chukwudi Okoli and the Managing Director Anambra Water Resources, Mr. Ikeobi Ejiofor.

The purposeful leadership of Soludo has consistently ensured that Anambra does not lose its choicest and potential investors. No wonder, the recent ranking by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council shows that Anambra ranks First amongst Southern States in the just concluded Federal Government Ease of Doing Business report of 2023, and 7th in the entire country.

Being the leading state in natural gas utilization activity, the biggest market for Fish commercialization in West Africa, Soludo’s agenda has also seen an addition to Tiger Foods Limited, a tomato paste line, welcomed a second indigenous automobile plant in Anambra, the KOJO Motors and Natural Gas company that will be the first CNG automobile company in Nigeria and first CNG station, and a lot more, including a state policy to revive some of the moribund manufacturing companies in the state.

PRINCE DR ARTHUR EZE @75: THE MASSES NICKNAMED SOLUDO, "GOVERNOR UMU OGBENYE" AT EMMAUS HOUSE AWKA

The Governor of Anambra State, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR on Monday, November 27, 2023 was at Emmaus House Awka for the State Government Inter-Denominational Service to mark Prince Arthur Eze (Ozo Igbo Ndu) 75th Birthday Anniversary with the elderly, the poor and physically challenged persons.

While moving round saluting the crowd; the elderly, vulnerable and those living with disabilities they were chanting their appreciation of his presence calling him "Governor Umu Ogbenye", meaning governor of the poor people.

The governor after declaring free education from nursery school to JSS 3 in government public schools in the state had also declared free antenatal care and free delivery to all pregnant mothers in the state.

Recall that following the subsidy removal that brought economic hardship to the nation, Mr governor also had reduced taxes payable by transport operators like; trucks, shuttle bus drivers and keke operators. He further mandated that no man should collect any dime as tax from Okada riders and business owners with less than a hundred thousand Naira as their operating capital.

The Governor in his address extolled Prince Arthur Eze for his act of charity and philanthropy which he began since time immemorial till now.

"Prince Engr Dr Arthur Eze had just had his platinum birthday and we decided that the more suspicious occasion to celebrate this is to celebrate him with the very people for whom he has lived much of his life for, and that is the vulnerable, those in need, the person with disabilities and the elderly..."

He said that his APGA led government has one slogan which is "leaving noone behind"

Mr Governor continued that his main mission on earth is to do the work of God which is ensuring that his administration take care of special persons who are in need of our care and love.

"Ozo Igbo Ndu, you have lived a life of charity and philanthropy all your life and it is special that we should celebrate you" He added.

Prince Engr Dr Arthur Eze (Ozo Igbo Ndu) in his brief speech confessed that he has not had such amazing treat and show of love since all his life.

"I am very happy to be here, I have never seen this type of thing in my life, I have been struggling to keep back my tears and I never knew this type thing will happen in my life time" He said.

He appreciated Governor Soludo and the wonderful work he is doing by touching lives of the poor people in a positive way in Anambra State.

"Soludo, the God that created you is a great God, the first time I met you inside Okada Air, you were reading Bible, I knew that God is taking you somewhere, that was before you became governor of central bank and now you're governor of Anambra State. What I want to ask Ndi Anambra now is, at the right time, they should vote for Soludo to complete his 8years, it was God that gave him. Don't fight him or you will be fighting God..." Prince Arthur Eze Said.

Mr Governor has shown everyone that his government has a mission to ensure those that were left behind, forgotten, abandoned and passing through pains found the needed succour.

As he promised, about three hundred thousand bags of rice and other food items are presently being distributed to wards, villages, umunnas and families across Anambra to ensure the adverse effect of fuel subsidy removal doesn't bite too hard to the poorest of the poor in the state.

Prince Arthur Eze also reiterated that it is only Soludo that has the mastery of resources management and how to distribute wealth to impact positively even the abandoned in our society.

The Birthday Prince made a whooping pledge to donate 5 Billion Naira to the state government for empowerment to the elderly, people living with disabilities and poor in the state. He further donated a hundred million Naira each to Catholic Mission, Anglican Dominion and Methodist Church missions in the state.

The inter-denominational service which was organised by the Anambra State Government was officiated by Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Anglican Diocese, His Grace, the Most Revd Alexander Chibuzo Ibezim and other ministers of God.

SOLUDO'S ROAD REVOLUTION IS MANIFESTING!

The miracle of this road is something that the people of Awba-ofemilli, Ebenebe, Amansea and adjoining towns will not stop talking about. Truth is, I have tried getting exact spots, especially from the Awba-ofemilli axis to help a good "before and after" shot, but that has proven difficult as this very road project was a construction from the scratch to open up these largely rural communities.

As can be seen from the attached video, take a while to imagine what the people went through when the road looked like the image on the left frame. It takes a Leader driven by empathy and love for the people, like Soludo, to do this.

It will be difficult to convince ndi Anambra today that "Solution is NOT Here" with them, as "evidence don dey choke small-small". This is a 26km road that will connect the agrarian Awka North to urban centres in the State Capital and down to the major parts of Anambra South from the Ndikpa, Ndiukwuenu, Awa road which is another 27km road completed by the Soludo Administration.
