FamilyRe: Pastor Loses Wife To Richer Pastor by chase4(m): 5:16pm On May 02, 2009
Anita admitted she went to Ikoyi Marriage Registry with Ajayi in error because it was part of his condition to assist her to travel to London. But when he could not fulfil his part of the arrangement, she decided to forget about him.
“He told me I have to claim to be his wife so that he could take me to the embassy and introduce me to leaders of the RCCG. I tried as much as possible to satisfy his conditions to be able to embark on the overseas journey. “At a stage, he was extorting money from me. I cannot now remember how much he collected from me, but it could be up to N100,000. I deserted him when he was about to milk me dry and, of course, the travel plan failed,” Anita explained.
This lady never intended to marry this guy, This guy may be one of those Pastors that promise to take people overseas. This guy charged her, gave her the conditions i.e getting papers at the registry(in order to do that u have to go through the process of getting married), pretending to be his wife and finally traveling abroad with him. This lady was actually paying this guy for the service. Finally the guy did not deliver and the lady ended the "business" transaction.
Anyway, the whole thing is messy and Pastors should not be getting involved in these things.

Dear Editor,

Greetings to you from the capital city of Ukraine.

This is Pastor Sunday Adelaja writing to you.

I received your news article “Ukraine police charge Nigerian pastor of evangelical church”.

I can honestly say that I’m disgusted and disturbed by this very false and inaccurate publication. What bothers me most of all is that you didn’t contact me first to find out the real story. Instead you grasped at pure lies and rumors that have no grounding whatsoever and created an article that is portrayed as true.

ORIGINAL STORY: http://odili.net/news/source/2009/mar/21/806.html

This is all a political witch-hunt that is going on here because of the social and political influence that our church and members hold.

I had actually heard that the Head of Police had made another political statement but this will keep going on from time to time, because the Head of Police – who made these false allegations - is also the political opposition of a prominent member of our church, Leonid Chernovetskiy, the mayor of Kiev.

In your article one can see that the case you are making against me is not only weak but totally groundless. So, let us take a look at the article:

"The Ukrainian Interior Ministry has accused him of defrauding citizens of money, the ministry’s Department for Media Liaison and International Activity said. Sunday Champion gathered that the amount is over $100m."
- Meanwhile this very same congregation that I am supposed to have “defrauded of millions” is praying against everything that is going on.

"Some speculated that Adelaja, a native of Nigeria, invested funds from King’s Capital in the African bank and planned to leave the country."
- You cannot produce any accounts like this because there is no such account and no bank will be able to confirm this.

"He was not a president of this company, but he was the No. 1 spiritual leader, and he told them what they have to do," said Bishop M. S.Panochko, leader of the All-Ukrainian Union of Pentecostal Churches of Evangelical Faith, which is comprised of 1,500 churches across the nation. "He can do everything to tell them that he is not involved, but all the leaders have a lot of facts, and we have a lot of video of when he was pushing people, and he encouraged people to invest in this business."
- Please find in attachment transcribed video footage that clearly states and proves that I in fact advised people against investing in the company King’s Capital.

Your whole article is phony and politically motivated, and there is nothing new in it, in fact it is the very same thing that was written before. Propagated articles like yours will keep coming again and again.

There are no infringements against me - I am at home as I write this letter.

I preach at church, travel as I want and we are preparing for our 15th church anniversary coming up soon.

Our opposition is trying to raise noise before our anniversary, which takes place in 2 weeks time.

From our end everything is under control and as far as the law goes: everyone remains innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

This has not been done. These are just allegations which we are looking forward to proving wrong.

Yours respectfully,
Pastor Sunday Adelaja

For me, I think if you invest that money in the ICT business, you're bound to reap the gains from your investment. How about going into Recharge Card Business where you buy a resell right from the network companies (e.g Zain, MTN, Etisalat, Glo, etc) and resell it to small investors. With time, you're become the BIG CHICKS in da city
@ Awalright, can you explain that better ? I have been eyeing this recharge card business for sometime now.

The problem with some nairalanders is that once they read something they don't either know or understand, they tend to attack
the poster. I don't know about this guy's story but selling babies is turning into a business lately in Naija. Some arrests has been
made here and there but the government is not taking serious steps to address the issues. I personally know a few places where
you go and see pregnant women( mostly young people ) being kept by these "doctors" until childbirth. They are paid daily
or weekly allowances and are paid after delivering. It is pathetic but it is happening right under our noses.

@ Nimshi

The greatest resurrection is that from death (sinner) to Life (righteousness). A simple evangelist armed with the bible and with fire in his bones is the greatest miracle that can ever happen to Himself and the body of Christ.

There is no miracle as the conversion of paul.

Paul was not only dead in sin. He carried death in his pocket and he struck the heart of the Almighty. When he was converted he now carried life and shared life everywhere he went.

Just think of any armed robber or Thief that stole Government money that repents and carries the bible as John the baptist lives a holy life. There is no miracle as this.

Satan can perform any Miracle God can. The Only MIRACLE THAT HE CANNOT PERFORM IS TO CONVERT A SINNER TO A RIGHTEOUS MAN.
That says it all.

Violence against women is a problem throughout the world. Unfortunately, it's worst in Brazil, according to a recent report of the Organisation for Defending Victims of Violence (ODVV). Twenty-five per cent of Brazilian women are victims of violence. The majority of the victims decide to complain only after the tenth attack. Also, 70 per cent of the victims were killed by their own husbands. How "violence" is defined from one study to the next, I don't know. Whether it is worse in Brazil or not is not important. It's important to realize it is bad in Brazil and in other places and that it must stop.

I got the above from one Queenesha's links.

How "SPOILED" is defined from one study to the next ? I don't know.
FamilyRe: Nigerian Women SPOIL men with their over tolerance by chase4(m): 12:50am On Sep 18, 2008
Most people here arguing over this post have spent more than half of their lifetime outside the shores of this country, some were born outside Naija and only visit once in years. We know how its like when you are out there, the negative stories from here aremagnified many times over. I agree with justgood and Queenisha, u can attack my Africanness but i owe you no apologies. Like i tried to prove in my earlier post with links to some brazilian forums(and as Queenisha has tried with her references) this problem is a global problem and women all over are beginning to react and get reprive but also putting into perspective that one size does not fit all. They react differently putting into consideration culture differences, poverty etc. My people, Naija men are not as bad as you are making us out to be and Naija women are not as irresponsive neither are they dumb as some would like to have us believe. Let us not just COPY AND PASTE.

BTW Some of us here spend too much time watching Naija home movies and when they manage to make it to Naija for
holidays, they out of fear of, stay indoors and watch more movies. Go home more often and get out more often.

JustGood:
The concept of men doing what they like and getting away with it is foreign to me. It doesn't happen in my family.

I do have a friend with whom I pleaded recently reminding him about his children and the prospect of his children living without him to re-consider his then decision not to stay with his wife again. . . so, men also get these things told them. Maybe because men don't tend to talk openly about things, you think men don't go through these things.

Those cultural things are also fast fading away. To my mind, I believe that we are headed for a catastrophe if all the cultural things fade away. We do not have a strong system to accommodate the fall out of what we want to do. We want to do what gets done in Europe and America when we don't have the structures that they have in place. We are only inviting catastrophe.

We need to examine ourselves as a society and allow what works for us to be implemented, not just to import some strange things that our society can't even support. the kind of things practised abroad may be very good for them but it is because they have enough structure in place to support those things.
I feel you my brother!!!

For those of you guys(ladies in this context) who have been out of Naija for sometime I think I am beginning to sense

something here. It is like it makes you feel good to put everything Nigeria down and in a bad light, Talk about our men as if

they are some mannerless apes, that way you somehow feel good about where you are and also feel like you are not

missing out on anything there. GO AHEAD AND SAY S*^T ABOUT US IF IT MAKES YOU FEEL ANY BETTER.  cool

@ hanen:

"Instead they're doing the childish thing and going to look for posts on Brazilian men. Seriously?"   Are you kidding me ?

Don't tell me you didn't get my point, go through Simibrasil's post again and see how she made this look like a Nigerian

problem. I used Brazilian men to drive it home and make her and all of you Nigerian men haters see that this is a Global

problem, or would you rather we talked about Italian men ? I hope now you get this into that sexist brain of yours, child.

Pay attention to mrpto's posts sad

"I know all to well the way they are raised. they are born losers that amount to nothing, that's why brazilian women run, if

they have the chance to marry someone else they will."

"My ex too was deceptive, distant, unsupportive, irresponsible & as Denise said they have this cord attachment to their

mom's or family & feel that their loyalty is to them & not their wive's, their unsupportive, etc. Their wives & everything else

comes second, etc." Do i hear the pot calling the kettle black ?

"Just like corruptionm, it exists everywhere, but it's not the norm, it's the exception just like in the u.s.a.  Whereas in brazil

it is the norm & not the exception, i have even seen situations where the women work, buy their men cars, etc. and they

don't even require that their men look for work, they will take care of their men., they rather do that then be without a

man, since they are are hard to come by"   undecided

and this

http://www.collegenet.com/elect/app/app?service=external/Forum&sp=14582

"I have heard this kind of thing before, different cultures treat men differently and they love it. Many countries in South

America treat the women differently - all they do is serve the men. That's their culture."  huh

"One guy was like when you go in the club these beautiful carmel skin women just float around him. He says that when your with them they cook, clean and fulfil every sexual desire." shocked

@ simi, so what was your argument ?

@ Angelheart, Swtie go ahead and marry Brazilian no need 2 fight over it abi ? btw when was the last time u were in Naija? You've really lost touch.

There is no reason to continue this Ping-pong with you cos it is obvious that you are biased. Apart from what you read on
these soft sell papers( the Sun and PM news), have you ever taken time to listen to or read Bakare's full message on this
or the other issues? Well some of us have, I am not a member of his local gathering but I have studied him and know
where he is coming from. Since I also know where you are coming from and where u are headed with this argument, I have
decided to stop. If it makes you feel any better that Bakare is a false prophet it is your baby, go ahead and spread the
good news but it will be a shame cos there are some who watch in amusement the passion with which your ignorance is
displayed.
PoliticsRe: "Resign Now!", Pastor Bakare Tells Yar’adua! by chase4(m): 7:03pm On Sep 10, 2008
Bakare what man of God ? He is a servant of God and so are we all. SERVANTS doing service. Apart from the portion of the
Bible that said that David is a man after the heart of God, where or who did God call his man? In the case of Elisha, it was
the people(just like we have them today) that called him "man of God"(2 kings 1:9). Do i think it is wrong to call one a man
of God ? No. What I is wrong is the way it has been turned to a title for a reserved few who has deceived the people into
believing that they are special "men" sent from God with miracles and wonders. We are all Children, men, servants, and
whatever of God transformed by grace to do much more than Jesus ever did but these men wouldn't teach you these else
they lose their shine. True Christianity teaches in Mathew 20:27 that "whoever wants to be first among you must become
your slave". Let us get back to studying the Bible.

@ Kobojunkie
Are you saying we are attributing what to God ? Nigeria is the way it is because of what your father and mine did and what u and I are doing now. That however does not remove God from the equation, I BELIEVE that God will rule in the affairs of men if they let him.
Do you believe in God? if not then no need continuing this discussion.
