43% black women were more likely to die than white women between 2010 – 2014 from breast cancer.

In 1990, black women were 17% more likely to die than white women; and 9 cities displayed statistically significant differences in mortality rates for black women and white women. By 2000, the disparity had risen to 35%; and 19 cities displayed stat istically significant differences. Between 2010 and 2014, black women were 43% more likely to die than white women; and 24 cities displayed statistically significant differences. Seventeen more cities showed the same disheartening trend.

Over the last 20 years, there has been a major problem in breast cancer prevention, diagnosis, and care: While overall mortality rates have improved by more than 30%, the bad news is that black women are still more likely to die from the disease than white women—and the disparity is growing in some cities more than others.9.

Popular Reality tv star, Kim Kardashian was robbed inside a private Paris residence Sunday night at gunpoint of more than $10 million worth of jewelry , police said.

A spokeswoman for the reality TV star said Kardashian was “badly shaken but physically unharmed” after men disguised as police officers also tied her up in the flat’s bathroom before fleeing the scene.

Paris police said five armed, masked me, who were still at large, stole a box containing valuables worth $6.7 million as well as a ring worth more than $4 million. The two officials confirmed Kardashian escaped uninjured and that an investigation was underway.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday said Nigeria would be saving 10 billion Dollars annually from importation of petroleum products as the nation’s four refineries would soon be fully repaired.

The president disclosed this in a nationwide broadcast to mark the nation’s 56th Independence Anniversary on Saturday.

The President frowned at the situation where half of the nation’s foreign exchange earnings were being spent on importation of petroleum and food items.

He attributed the current socio-economic hardship being experienced in the country to inability of the previous administrations to save for the “rainy days’’.

“Historically about half our dollar export earnings go to importation of petroleum and food products, Nothing was saved for the rainy days during the periods of prosperity.

“We are now reaping the whirlwinds of corruption, recklessness and impunity.

“There are no easy solutions, but there are solutions nonetheless and government is pursuing them in earnest.

“We are to repair our four refineries so that Nigeria can produce most of our petrol requirements locally, pending the coming on stream of new refineries.

“That way we will save 10 billion USD yearly in importing fuel.’’

Buhari said his adminitration’s economic revival strategy was centred on the Ministry of Power, Works and Housing.
