justwise:please HELP! my cousin has an invitation letter and wishes to apply for Visa to attend 2-day Conference in Toronto and will be sponsored by her company. She has travel history and sufficient funds. My questions are: Amongst other documents; 1. I know she requires either a sponsorship letter or Introduction Letter or both? Can either one replace the other? 2. What is the limited number of pages for the letter? 3. What other documents do you think she should add? Please kindly advise me of other ideas. *fingers crossed* Thank you! |

travelland:Wow thank you so much. |
travelland:Thank you so much! But after reading some comments here, i am considering applying for a Long term transit visa. Please What do you think? |
Hello Great minds, My name is Chelda, a lawyer working in the Federal Civil Service and i'm new on this particular page. So some months ago with the tremendous advises i received from the greatminds in this Nairaland forum(Canada page) i applied and got approved visa to Canada (first application without travel history) now I wish to travel to Canada through London (I want to say hi to co-worker for a week). Please advice me on which visa to apply for and information on the procedures, the cost and another important extras (the Naija style )God bless your efforts. |
That particular form is for spouses. Common Law Union is a marriage recognised by the courts |
prettyirene:My dear Irene, Not being eligible for express entry does not affect your visitor visa application (if you're eligible for a visitor visa), I experienced it myself. Just stick with packaging a very good application, put ALL information and documents necessary. Please do not leave anything out, write a very convincing letter of explanation and package your documents well. TWO important things: 1.) show the close relationship with your cousin, ask her to send you an invitation letter and do same to their email too(they'll read it), family photos that include you and her is important. And the importance of the visit at the time in your application. 2.) Show why it is so important that you return to Nigeria immediately after the visit. VOs can detect some sincerity or lies in an applicant's package. |
prettyirene:Hi Irene, Its done Goodluck! |
Yes, Yes, Yes...INTELLECT is the word because in my application + documents the packaging was very intellectual , i didn't really have a good account balance sef (just about 200k all together) but majorly the accounts had monthly or weekly transactions occurring in them. I printed 6months statement of 3 accounts so i gave them like 10 pages to read ![]() |

Hi, Sorry i'm just noticing your message now and so sorry you were rejected this time. ![]() So i actually wrote a letter of explanation where i introduced myself properly, explained how important it is that i got the visa and it's impact to my family, then explained the reasons for my lack of travel history, i garnished the real reasons in my submission so it was easy to relate with and believe, you know even these people like packaging because want to believe that you'll return to Nigeria. Anyway let me give you a quote of my explanation with regards to travel history: "My travel History is quite short and straightforward because I have never traveled anywhere outside Nigeria before even though I have always wanted to travel the world but my really tight work schedule (as I am the principal officer, managing the Legal department of our Port Harcourt office) has always been challenging". That is all. It might not be entirely the truth.... but it is good enough to get the result. ![]() |
awelekiti:Hello my wonderful and correct people! so this is my first ever post on this forum though i have been reading for years . God is good! With the help of you all and my lovely sis, I finally disvirgined my passport and i got 4 years visa! i'm and stunned and very elated i just had to share my experience here. So This is my first ever application for visa to any country at all ( I have been schooling and working in Naija like forever lol!) I submitted on 9th March and received the visa on 21st April. Document I Submitted alongside my application form and passport are 1.) Invitation Letters 2.) my appointment letter, 3.) confirmation letter 4.) promotion letter, 5.) introduction letter, 6.) Pension statement, 7.) 6months bank statement with a bank reference letter, 8.) 3 months payslips, 9.) photocopies of my company ID, Tax ID, Health Insurance ID, 10.) Death certificate of my Dad 11.) Family photo and personal photo of i and the person i was visiting (to buttress the relationship) 12.) an explicit Letter of explanation(explaining why i had no travel history), also the visa and resident permit document of the person i was visiting. 13.) And some prayers to go with it ![]() Truth is just be as honest as you can be and ofcourse bombard them with lots of documents to fill up their time ![]() PS: I'm a federal civil servant so maybe that helped in a way too. And yes i applied via paper applications in Abuja (they are just the best!) Thank you all once more, now time to plan my trip and i will also need your help too! ![]() |
