welf99: Your response to... who is covering your expenses? Is one of the reasons you are denied. If you check Nairaland visa transcripts, this type of response is common among F1 visa hopefuls from Nigeria...once you start with that line, it's a straight refusal. Check the past transcript. It is important for F1 candidates to present credible financial documents before the I-20 is issued. How your funding is presented on your I-20 is important. Personal Fund, Sponsor, Family fund, Scholarship or Grants, Graduate Assistant, Student loans, Campus employment, etc
If you left school for more than 5 years, Personal funds cannot be zero, even if you have a scholarship or your father, uncle, or whoever is supporting you. In your case, advise your uncle to transfer the support money to your account, even if it is 50% of the deficit, get an updated I-20 from your school. Hi ,but for f2 applicant, what will you advise to write under who is sponsoring the trip |

welf99: Yes disclose it under job description or work experience. No its not a red flag because thats your job. Length of stay would be till tyhe end of F1 study, if 6yrs is left write 6yrs. What VO is interested in is if the marriage is genuine and if you guys have the finance or sponsor. Thanks sister |

welf99: Previous denial - Quote the code on the form handed over to you Duration of stay: Till the end of the F1 Study or whatever year is left, or you can write 1 year depending on the F1 study situation. For f2 that study nurse,is it ideal to disclose it on her job description or work experience, hope it wouldn't raise a reg flag, Also concerning length of stay, 7 years is wat is on f1,would it be advisable to add 6 years on f2 application |

BunmiBie: Proper planning... F2 cannot work.
My story I came to the States on f2 visa but I started nursing school immediately. As f1 I have been working with my school teaching hospital with CPT and the work pays well at least for a student. I graduate this summer and of course I would get a job by God's grace with my Opt, from there get a hospital to file green card for me and my family.
So, plan your life very well. F1 has benefits Right now it's so easy to switch to f1 from f2 if you consider that Sis ,please how can I contact you |

samdovey: Hello. Your wife must be finish her program as a registered nurse in Nigeria and work for at least one year before she can migrate to USA. She can work as a nurse in the USA but the process takes about 1 to 2.5 years. My wife was also a nurse in Nigeria before we migrated to the USA. I was studying on FI and she was on F2 visa. We adjusted our status to green card holder while I am still studying. Any bonafide nurse from Nigeria can migrate and work in the USA as a registered nurse. She would need to evaluate her credential with CGFNS and take the Nclex exam. Then, look for an agency or hospital to sponsor her adjustment of status and green card. If you need more clarification, let me know. Please how can I contact you sir |

MiracleOla4433: Good morning to you brother, Happy new year to you and your family. I've passed the preapproval stage. Thank you so much for your assistance so far. I really appreciate. It's just that there is no date in Lagos but I chose July in Abuja and requested for emergency appointment. I just hope they respond this week. Do you think I can still do the interview in Lagos when they approve it? Good morning Bro and happy new year, Good to hear that you have passed the preapproval stage, since you already pick Abuja, if ur emergency appointment is approved, it will be Abuja not lagos |

Samuelborode: Hello, good evening. Please I’ve been stucked in the pre approval stage for almost a month but i recently received a rejection mail from the embassy saying that my pre approval request was rejected and they didn’t state any reasons. Though I faced an issue when uploading my I 20… my I 20 document was about 62mb and i uploaded it that way, I was not aware about it until i uploaded it. So now I really don’t know the next step I should take, I’ve chatted the support service but they’re saying I should create ticket, please what can I do about this and could it be that it was that error i encountered with the I 20 that made my pre approval request got rejected? And please what’s the required size for the I 20 document when uploading. I’ll patiently await your kind response and guidance…thanks . Good evening bro,I don't know y ur pre approval request was rejected, it was not stated on the AVITS portal the size of i-20 , if your size is heavy ,it won't go tru at the first place,so is not the size of your i-20 that caused the rejection....so I don't have any info y ur pre approval was rejected |

meizoos: Hello guys. I had my F1 interview at the embassy in Lagos today. It wasn't successful as I was denied! The VO officer only asked me questions about who's going to for my studies. She didn't ask any questions about the school nor my course of study. All through my stay there, I personally didn't see any F1 visa that was approved today. Even people with funding from their schools were denied. Hey boss, sorry about ur visa delay, will want you not to be too emotional about it, just will advice you to work more on how to get funding, everything is possible with God and hardwork ,try to contact the graduate school that gave you admission about funding |

Travel › Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Chemist4life: 8:34pm On Dec 15, 2024 |
Teensmentor: Hi Nairalanders,
So I am a current PhD student. I had a visa interview (renewal) for 12th and was supposed to travel in to Nigeria on the 8th. The airline canceled the trip and rebooked us for 10th. Meaning we’d arrive Nigeria a day before our interview. Unfortunately, we missed that flight and we couldn’t meet the interview.
We’ve called and were advised to reschedule and apply for emergency appointments. So we were able to reschedule before the interview date but only available dates were in April. We’ve applied for the emergency appointment through the portal but haven’t gotten any response since Wednesday .
School resumes 19th January for spring semester and our GA appointment starts 8th January.
I guess my question is, does anyone know the fastest way to get the emergency appointment expediated? How do I contact them to get this resolved asap? Has anyone been in similar situation and what did they do?
We have called the embassy and even raised ticket but all we’ve been asked to do is wait. I will suggest, you chat the up and explain ur issues to them |

kharemorgan: Personally, I think all these issues are as a result of gross incompetence in the part of the visa appointment team.
There is no issue that can't be resolved.
If they are overwhelmed, let them employ more competent people to handle this business.
There's nothing that can't be resolved.
I don't think they will try this in the US.
They are pretty much aware that Nigerians has no choice.
How can someone fast and pray to apply for visa and still fast and pray to get appointment date and on top of that there is still the possibility of getting denied. Aaaaah!
The avits software is totally rubbish. Poor design, poor UI/Ux.
It can't just successful perform the simple taste it was created for. And they are doing nothing about it.
If it's not working or serving the purpose, let them take it down!
The engineer/developer ought to be arrested. The customer service, again dead!
You create ticket, you are not even sure if it will be responded or attended to.
We the visa applicants shouldn't suffer these. They are not our fault.
But we are Nigerians, we can afford to be paying servis/visa fee as long as we want, because we have no choice. And we don't even have a voice. Hello ,for ur information, it is not only affecting nigeria alone..if u visit reddit you will see how other country complain about the error we too are complaining.. |

MiracleOla4433: I had a chat with them two days ago and a lady responded (I was able to know by her name) and said I must wait and ended the chat while I was still communicating with her and I messaged again yesterday and a guy responded nicely and said I should send ticket and he would forward my details to the team but nothing was done on that day and I reached out today in the morning and a guy apologised for the delay and also promised to send my details to the team and I should create another ticket and I should be expecting an email soon. Still no approval yet. I messaged again after some hours in the afternoon and a guy whom I thought was having a bad day responded and didn't show any interest of helping and he reluctantly said he would only help by forwarding my details to his supervisor and stayed on the chat for almost 30 mins or more without responding to my messages and later ended the chat. Please, what do you think I should do and how many times did you chat them before your approval? Good morning, I really know how u are feeling about the delay of the pre approval request ,what I can say is just keep chatin them, most especially put it into prayer .I can't really say if it is the chatin or email that serve as a catalyst to my approval.... |
