Hello. Thank you for this information. I noticed days ago someone said it's working now but it's not the same over here. Pls, have you gotten any headway? I got the same response twice when I chatted with their service operators- "AA00E....." issues. Afterwards, i raised a ticket. Still waiting for a response from them. Do we keep waiting? I've been trying to apply since the 21st of November.

I also encounter the invalid ds-160 confirmation number but was rectify last week, I was able to pass the stage last week 21st but still on preapproval

My Pre-approval request was approved yesterday and i didnt know because they didnt send eny email.
I also noticed it was approved an hour after i sent that email using the format that was dropped earlier.

1. In that case , use your signed I 20, SEVIS payment receipt, ds 160 slip and MRV to send a mail to the embassy under system error (direct email not support ticket).

2. Navigate back to few pages here you will see the Lagos and Abuja embassies emails. You should copy nigeria@usvisaappt.com in the mail.

1. Pre-approval request should not take too long to be approved for F1 visa applicant because the embassy are aware of your resumption dates.

2. However, majority of the F1 visa applicants are making the initial appointment booking processing error. I will recommend you follow the following guidelines in order to avoid a longer or permanent pending pre approval request:

3. If possible , walk in to First bank to make MRV payment physically instead of other payment options. (This does not mean that other options are not valid).

4. Fill the visa application (Ds 160) first and completely submitted before you proceed to avits profile for appointment requests.

5. In the Question, Do you have a specific travel plans (in your Ds 160) , Answer Yes .

6. Print your Form I 20 and sign it before uploading it to your avits profile .

7. Be certain to have paid SEVIS fee with Evidence to show.

Any F1 visa applicant who have completed the stated task is the bonafide F1 visa applicant that will be taken serious.

* Cancel your pending request if you are not too certain of the above and reapply.

Sir ,what about those that follow this steps but still on preapproval stage...I even paid sevis fees before the MRV, i uploaded sign copy of my 1-20 but under have you made specific travel plans I chose NO and i specific the date under intended date of arrival..any suggestions for people like me...my resumption date is 13th January

Good afternoon sir, I am also at the preapproval stage, I have paid SEVIS fees and MRV fee ....o could remember my supervisor also suggested I book appointment ahead before I get my admission offer and i-20 but I was told booking appointment date is not possible without SEVIS number....so most of us just got our i-20

The last option is to create a new DS-160 application to get a new DS-160 confirmation number if you’ve reached out to AVITS without result.

If you’re able to retrieve the DS160 form, directly copy and paste the number to the AVITS. If not, create a new DS160 form, note the number and directly copy it to the AVITS to avoid any mistake. A simple check in Lagos or Abuja shows that the number is incorrect.

Also ensure you fill at least the first page of the DS160 form so you can retrieve it later.

Hmm, that’s very strange, if the number is correct since you are copying and pasting, ensure there is no space at the end of the number, that might be another reason.
