Education › Re: I Will Kill Myself On Wednesday by chemister96(m): 2:43pm On Jul 26, 2015 |
Suicide isnt the solution. My advice is that for each course you failed, carefully find out why you failed. For example, you may have not understood the concepts of the courses. Another reason may be that you did not read the right materials. God bless you. fellowbeing: I will kill myself on Wednesday if am not able to sort this out. I'm tired of this life even though people around believe all is well with me.
I am a 23 year old undergraduate of University of Ilorin. I am a spill over student due for graduation last year. I had 2 courses for first semester and 5 courses for second semester, including project. I really tried my best this year, so that I can graduate. The trauma, depression, studying with my juniors, O God, after stressing myself reading day and night, preparing hard and settling project issues, just to discover that I failed 2 courses in second semester. I will now splash, not again.
I am pressing some buttons IF the courses can be waved. I discovered that I failed the two on friday after checking my results at the level adviser's office.
How will I inform my parents? I don't have a choice than to just end this if nothing can be done before Wednesday evening.
The pressure is just too much. I am the first born of my parent. They are expecting the good news not the splash news again, not after supporting me for a year. |

[quote author=ewizard1 post=33793818]Ok...I learnt from a very reliable source recently that even companies (probably owned by entrepreneurs) use profile of their staff (possibly including the first class guys) to improve their company's image. My point = we live in a world where symbiosis is indispensable. So, without the 'brainies', businesses of the not too brilliant but excellent biz people may not do well. And without the biz moguls, the brainies may not have food on their table.
Just to add, we had a similar discussion to this thread's topic in a group not too long ago and a comment made by a guy who I had just became friends with really registered in my 'hard drive'. He said "it's not really about getting the high GPA that matters afterall, but who we become in the process". That 'who we become in the process', I believe describes determination & adaptation to new systems etc. These, I believe are indispensable 'raw materials' to help make a biz succeed. *anything worth doing at all, is worth doing well*
Conflict of interest I had a first class. |

Lets be realistic here...
Please read what he posted again and be faithfully tell if theres any pinch of lie in it....
Those people he listed are people most of us pray to be as rich as... yet they didnt have a First Class... Sometimes i pray, if not having a first class makes one that rich and famous, then i will never make a First Class.
The fact is... if you're striving for a First Class or High GPA, you would be actually aiming to work in one of the big companies in the world.
That CGPA, you dont need it if you're gonna be a determined entrepreneur. If you really are, you would make one of those Big companies the First Class holders strive to work with!
#Or dont you wish to work with Microsoft? ot Dangote? whos founder didnt make a First Class.
#takes a bow. |

viqueta: Went for an interview last week, well everything was going fine until the how much do u want us to pay you question popped up and viola!! I think my price and that of the interviewer were too far apart that was when I knew that my chances of them calling me would be slim I seldom post comments here, but I felt like encouraging you.....are the interview results out yet? If not, then I think you shouldn't rule out your chances. If yes, yet dont rule out your chances, because 'last week' isnt a long time past...Best wishes! |

EroticAngelina: sorry to be so negative, but I can't help but notice how this woman does whatever buhari says, even if its nt good. she's like his robot. where was she in 2011? why did buhari bring her out now(2015)? he doesn't know that her kind heart ness, beauty, brain and manner was part of what helped him win this election behind every successful man, there's a woman! if there's one thing he should learn from gej, its supporting women. we are in 2015, not 1989! women are human beings and should be respected. any man who does not respect women will never get my respect! one, more thing... the office of the first lady is in our constitution Mr buhari, don't start ruining dis opportunity bfor they swear u in on may. I just pity ur wife. if I were her, I would av divorced u a decade ago. #NoTime4Rubbish Like seriously ...... comment looks to me like a personal issue/attack. ok...what section of our constitution did you find that the office of the First Lady is recognised? Kindly enlighten us. |

Thanks husseinjnr. First, I saw a phd scholarship advert on scholarship-positions.com. Then, I emailed a lecturer whose research area interested me in the university concerned. He replied and we agreed on the area I will research. Second, I developed (with help from the lecturer) a research proposal. After which I applied for admission online. In just about a week or so, I got my admission letter. Truth is that it wasn't as easy as it may sound. The hardest part of the whole thing was the proposal. Reading carefully through guides provided on research proposal writing on the school's website really helped. In fact, that was the first research proposal I have written! |
