However I have a question o. I checked the visa and saw that I was given only 10hrs to work during term time and I am a postgraduate student. I was planning to work for only 10-12 hours then volunteer for about 4 hours now I can't. Pls does anyone know why I was granted only 10hours?

P.S: I have a scholarship and a bursary. And my course is a 25 hours per week one.

Which Uni are going to and what course are you to study??

Off campus is always cheaper, school accommodation is over priced.

Use roomate/roomshare or gumtree to search for private accommodation in your area.

I went for PTA today but unfortunately 3 of banks (gtb, zenith, & 1st bank) don't have pounds sterling to give to me (and I don't stay in Lag or abj); so pls I need ur candid advice: should I ask them to give me the $4000 dollars instead Can I EASILY trade dollars for GBP when arrive the UK

Thank you igwejay67; I am going to Strathclyde, I had taken a look at some of the private accommodation online but I am afraid to commit to them, because I had not physically examine them since I am not yet in Glasgow. Moreover I am som1 that don't like stress and wouldn't want to live at non treakeble distance from the uni!

Accomodation is cheap ish in Glasgow compared to down South, are you going to Caledonia or Strathchlyde Uni and if you have got a private let what is the address and post code I could tell you how far it is from the school. £100 per week excluding bills (electricity, gas, wifi) is not that bad but you could get something cheaper if you rent a bit further away from the city centre. Try glasgow gumtree but dont hand over your money until you see the property. Hope this helps ...

Hi I've been a silent follower on this forum because I'm helping my little brother to apply for uni in Glasgow. For those of you going to Aberdeen or Edinburgh I've seen folks paying up to 280k for a direct flight why don't you take a flight to London and get a train for about £80-100 or better still get a sleeper coach for £35. You will go in and get a bed and wake up on your destination it's a brilliant service with charging ports and wifi, you get to see London and a bit of the country when you arrive and above all save your money. Hope this helps I've been in Scotland for almost 10 years if anyone needs clarification I'm happy to help. God bless

@Igwejay67, pls what is accomodation like in Glasgow My school offered a university accommodation of £100 p/w; the accommodation is flat comprising of private study rooms with wc, the flat wc is shared; I think one ve to be paying for Electricity and Gas seperately from the rent. SO bros is it possible for som1 to get a cheap private accommodation around the city center that is better than what my uni is offering me

Please I need your candid advice here, I used one of my school education agent (consultant) for my MSc visa application & counseling and I got my Visa! They sent me a mail that I shld scanned my visa page and send it to them and also come a pick a free UK sim card, that I will be using when I arrived the UK.
I had been hesitating to send them the scanned copy of my visa page, Please I want to know if it is in my best interest to do that?

Your charges should be in the region of 53,000 to 56,000 using form A and the rates (Form A rates I mean) are low because it's Cbn official rates. If you have your university certificate ready then I recommend that option. I'm not sure if you can use your Gtbank savings, but it's possible with Fbn.

They told me that because i opened my account in ogun and i am presently in uyo thay they would have to open an account or something for me. Then the lady could not tell me exactly what their charges were. Even the ones in first bank did not know. I am so confused right now. I don't know which one to use now. I am really confused right now. And i don't understand their own rates sef.

@Pettitediva! Nah waoh 4 these guys ooohhh; I was in their bank last week, I was given the form A, and ask to provide some documents. They told me that everything will be sent to their Lagos HQ and processed there and it will take 3 weeks 4 the money to reflect in the university account. Then I went to Zenith bank and I was told it will also take 3 wks to be processed! But I will visit other banks to confirm!

Nigerian Banks are scammers, that is why 419 peeps will always be causing them sorrows: how can they be charging customers without customer consent and knowledge, they always wants people to always be in the dark for their heinous charges

Thanks. I went to GTB and first bank today. I think i would send it with first bank. The pple at gtb were acting confused and they said something about opening another account. I no get that energy. However their rate as of today was 314-315. It is all good sha. Thank you.

@Petitediva, Pls kindly share with me what you notice about GTB b4 I make a mistake, if there services is not good and fair, then I might go and open an account with first bank ASAP

you need to have a total of 21340+9180=30520GBP in your account. you need to have this money for 28days in your account before you apply for visa because they need you to print your account statement showing that you have the money for a 28day period. The application is all online. If you mean where to apply to get it faster, recent applicants say Abuja is fastest, then ikeja, before victoria island. hope this was helpful? Don't forget, avoid agents like a plague.

Hello Guys, pls join me in thanking and glorifying the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY for my 2yrs study Visa! I submitted on 2nd of July and I collected my VISA today from Abuja Tele-performance center.

The UK govt is always changing the rules and making strict rules to deter applicants- if I had fill the applications, I would have made some grave mistakes!

Also the credibility interview is done thru SKype, I did not do well because I was ask some questions I didn't expect but GOD willing, I was given VISA! GLORY BE TO THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY!

I am for MSc Advanced Power Eng @ UNIV OF STRATHCLYDE, Glasgow; thus if going there, then let me know!


Please guys help me with info info about the cheap and best ways to pay sch fees??

Also about flights to London, affordable and best airlines means to arrive London?

Your savings and current account are linked to the card but only one of them can be the default, in your case its the current. when you perform most online transactions, it just selects the default. But it can be changed. I have changed mine with gtb several times. Everytime i get issued a new card it comes with my current as default. what they would do is to de-link the current, leave the savings on it, then link the current back again, so the savings is now the default. You can walk into any branch and explain exactly what you want.

@BUDDWIZER; pls which is better (cheap and affordable) to operate with master card, current or savings? And since you said you bank with GTB, tell me how I can effect the change of the "default' from current to savings??

@Danarebuwa, IF THEY ARE DEMANDING FOR TB CERT FOR YOU TO TRAVEL TO THE USA, then simply go the uk embassy wia u submitted ur passport and ask them to give u a letter stating that ur passport is with them; thus with that letter u can now go and obtain ur TB certificate. takia

Please can you throw more light on how someone can pay the VISA fee since the CBN daily limit is $300? and my 28 days is on 30 of June, also when is the best time to pay for the VISA and the HIS fee; Also how long the does it take for the results of the TB test to be out becos I want to do everything 2geda while in Abuja.

Also, do the bank Statement needs to be address to the embassy official address, or just request a bank statement from your bank and take it to the embassy?
