The Reds

Ever since Gazidis declared Arsenal’s new financial strength to sign top players. The transfer stories and speculations from the press have been going crazy. These new stories have little or no amount of truth. They’ve succeeded in raising the hopes of fans and deceptively making us believe AW is actually bidding for every top player out there. Today it’s Suarez and later Gareth Barry, who knows it might be Messi tomorrow.

A typical example of this is ‘the Higuain Saga’, “Arsenal bid for Higuain”, “Wenger and Higuain agree personal terms according to his Agent/Father”, “Arsenal agree fee with Madrid, the deal is almost complete”, “Higuain to Arsenal deal hits dead lock”, “Madrid endorses Arsenal personal negotiations with Higuain” and “Whooooossh” “Real Madrid say Arsenal have made no bid for Higuain” Aaaargh! These stories are very VERY annoying! How authentic are these transfers speculations? Well, we’ll find out between now and September 2nd I guess. We’ve been hearing the press side of the story – how about Arsenal or Wenger’s side?

All we have to show for the rumoured budget of a whooping £70,000,000 is the typical Wenger type of deal, a free agent youngster in the person of Yaya Sanogo. Yes, he might be a real potential for the future, but presently is he the CF we need that will be better than Giroud or Podolski to bang in 30+ goals per season? These kind of signings are the least we need right now.

For some reasons most people (and myself included) believe Arsenal is actually bidding for other players like Julio Cesar, Fellaini or Gonalons and yours faithfully Higuain. According to rumours Higuain has been on “flight for 11 days” from Madrid to London for his medicals. Julio Cesar has “packed his stuff at home” while waiting for Wenger to bid for him to remain in London or travel else where. Gonalons has also “packed his bags waiting for Wenger to come pick him up from France to England”. While Fellaini is “just chilling at a salon having a long hairdo waiting for Wenger to bring more money for him come to the Emirates”. Anyways, these are rumours I heard in my head. There is £70million to spend so why the delay?

I’d like to give the credit of the success or failure on transfer activity entirely to AW because the Board has publicly declared their intentions to get top-top players. So why is Wenger taking a while to land top-top players for the Emirates? They say the patient dog eats the fattest bone, that’s because there was no meat left.

Let me switch over to the Greens (The Positives)

I posted an article recently on on how all these transfer stories show Arsenal now mean business and there was a whole lot of views, opinions and reactions, some opposing others supporting but I believe in looking at things from different perceptives.

Ever since Denis Bergkamp, Arsenal has not signed any already proven top class players, so for the mere fact that all these great players are linked to Arsenal alone makes this transfer window bring in a cool fresh air with plenty of excitement.

Let’s assume Wenger succeeds in bringing Higuain, Julio Cesar and Fellaini or any other DM our guns will be blazing big time in the coming 2013/2014 season.

Conclusion

I’ll advise every Gooner to take every single transfer story with a pinch of salt at the same time maintain optimistic for a better Arsenal squad in the 2013/2014 season. I said it before and I’ll say it again, I smell a trophy on it’s way to the Emirates.
