Ojiofor: Mallam VP Okorocha is not enough to entice SE, Chose the mallam as your presidential candidate we might just reconsider things.
You are an ungrateful ingrate! How many igbo men have been made VP or even thinking of such an idea since PDP came into power? The present Senate President and Speaker of HOS are not Igbos. Why don't you embrace APC and let our dream of having an igbo VP become a reality? Am not an APC member, but this is the time to show appreciation.

shame on you!!

PoliticsAPC Tips Buhari,Tambuwal For Presidency..Okorocha May Get VP Slot by chi3280(op): 9:30am On Aug 27, 2013
Baring any last minutes political recalculation,
the Speaker, House of Representatives, Alhaji
Aminu Tambuwal and General Muhammadu
Buhari will slog it out at the Presidential
primaries of the All Progressive Congress, APC,
ahead of the 2015 Presidential elections.
APC leaders are reportedly considering zoning
the Presidency to the Northwest and mulling
zoning the running mate to the South East. The
Chairmanship of the party might be zoned to
the Southwest, Pointblanknews.com has been
reliably informed.
Immediate past Governor of Kano State,
Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau is also in the race
but will face a stiff opposition from the camp
of General Muhammadu Buhari. The duo of
Mallam El Rufai and Nuhu Ribadu lost out of
consideration because they are said to have no
solid political structure to withstand the
Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State,
whose party, the All Progressive grand Alliance,
APGA, is still controversially linked with APC, is
being considered for the Vice Presidency slot, a
reliable source knowledgeable with the thinking
and calculation of the emerging opposition
party, told Pointblanknews.com.
Okorocha is being considered for the VP slot to
entice and compensate the South East voters.
The Imo State Governor has already assured
the leadership of APC of his ability to deliver
the South East to the party in 2015.
Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu who is expected to
supply the war chest for the 2015 elections is
eyeing the Senate Presidency and he is
expected to take over the seat currently being
occupied by his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu,
a source told Pointblanknews.com in Lagos.
Tinubu, a very wealthy politician and former
Lagos State Governor who is noted for funding
most of the election of members of the Action
Congress of Nigeria, ACN, has also promised to
provide the funding for APC, a source said.
The source hinted that overtures made by
senior members of the APC to stop General
Mohammed Buhari from running for the
Presidency failed. The retired General who has
contested and failed in three Presidential
elections, a source said, insisted on testing his
acceptability once again in 2015. He will be 73
in 2015.
General Buhari at a recent interview said he
could still contest the Presidential elections in
2015 if called upon to do so by members of the
APC.
“Since I am in the new party as a member, if
after consultations they included me among
their aspirants, I will not reject their offer. This
is what I want people to know. I want people to
be patient with what we are doing now. They
should allow the merger to succeed first. I am
sure the new party leaders will know those that
are relevant and saleable to Nigerians
electorate,” he said.
Although Speaker Tambuwal is of the PDP but
current political wrangling within the ruling
party could make the Sokoto born politician
consider the offer if it is eventually narrowed
to him, a source hinted.
The source noted that Tambuwal has always
been in the good books of the opposition
because of his “cordial relationship” with
members of the opposition Parties in the
House and the support he got from them to
emerge as the Speaker.
“They trust him and they simply believe that it
is just a matter of time if he is well
approached, he can ditch the PDP anytime and
join APC,” the source said.
A source confirmed to Pointblnaknews.com
that after series of meeting with some
leadership of the APC, the Speaker appears
willing to dump the PDP and join the APC to
contest the Presidential elections in 2015.
“From outcome of our meetings with him and
some of his political friends, we are confident
he will join us. But as a politician, we believe
he is still weighing his options and we respect
that,” a top APC member told
Pointblanknews.com.
The source said as soon as the Speaker accepts
to join APC and run for the Presidency, its
leadership will try once more to persuade
General Buhari to allow the party to adopt
Tambuwal.

PoliticsBuhari To Contest In APC Primaries by chi3280(op): 11:25am On Aug 11, 2013
Fomer Head of State Maj.-Gen. Buhari is likely to contest
presidential primary of the All Nigeria Peoples Party.
His loyalists said that despite the anti-Buhari
lobby in the APC, the general would contest the
primary.
We have gathered that the anti-Buhari lobby in APC is made up
of two groups. The first group consists of senior Northern
politicians who want the general to bury his ambition in order for
a younger northerner to contest the presidential primaries. This
group is also said to be shopping for a guarantee that the
general will support whoever emerges as the presidential
candidate of the party.
The other group consists of members of the party who feel that
the former head of state is not popular in the South-East, South-
South and some parts of North-Central.
Top officials of the party confided in our correspondent on Friday
that the mega party was worried about Buhari's unpopularity in
these regions. The officials said the states were too crucial to be
toyed with.
One of the senior members of the party, who pleaded anonymity,
said, "We have realised that it will be a Herculean task to
convince a majority of the electorate in the South-South, South-
East and even some parts of North-Central to vote for the APC if
we field Buhari as our candidate.
"You will recall in 2011, he did not perform very well in the
South-East, South-South as well as Plateau, Benue and Kwara in
the North-Central. He is not so popular in those areas. We are
looking for a nationally acceptable candidate. Hence, the move to
make him step down."
Another APC top member who spoke on the condition of
anonymity with our correspondent, said, "We know that the
general is popular among the talakawas (ordinary people) in the
northern part of the country.
"We also know that he is still interested in the race based on his
pronouncements. But we also believe that he has tried. He needs
to allow the younger ones take a shot at the ticket.
"But if we prevail on him to discard his ambition, will he be ready
to work for whosoever emerges as the party's candidate? That is
the dilemma we are in now."
But Buhari's supporters are insisting that he must be allowed to
take part in the party's primary, and that he will support the
winner if he doesn't win.
Former spokesperson for the CPC, Mr. Rotimi Fashakin, said only
the members of the APC could determine Buhari's fate.
He said, "Some people are afraid of Buhari and that is why they
are flying the kite. We know he is going to contest the primaries
and he may be the candidate of the party.
"We all know that democracy is a game of numbers, if that is the
case, let us wait and see what will happen during the primary.
The general's popularity has not waned.
"Those mounting pressure on him not to contest are those who
are afraid of him. They know that he means well for the country
and not for the pulse of a few people."
Similarly, the CPC governorship candidate in Enugu State in 2011,
Mr. Osita Okechukwu, said if Buhari could pull 12 million votes
during the 2011 presidential election with a "small party like the
CPC," then he could do better under a bigger party in 2015.
"That is why we, his supporters, are saying that he should be
allowed to contest the primary with other candidates. Irrespective
of his age, he is still strong. He is not corrupt, he isn't a religious
bigot and he doesn't care about where you come from.
"We must also know that GMB is an asset to the party anyway. He
has a "vote bank" through which he could draw come 2015.
Buhari, 70, has run for the office of the President three times
and, on all the occasions, was defeated by the ruling Peoples
Democratic Party candidates.
In 2003 and 2007, he ran on the platform of the ANPP and was
the presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change
in the 2011 general election.

Politics2015: We'll Stop APC In South East- Igbo Youths by chi3280(op): 12:08pm On Aug 08, 2013
2015: We ‘ll stop APC in South East – Igbo youths
on August 08, 2013 at 1:02 am in News
BY ANAYO OKOLI
UMUAHIA—THE youth wing of Igbo Socio-cultural organisation,
Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has vowed to stop the All Progressives
Congress, APC, from winning elections in the South East geo-
political zone in 2015.
Rising from a meeting in Enugu, Ohanaeze youths advised the
APC to concentrate in the North and South-West as the South-East
zone was a no go area for the party.
Organising Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council, Mazi
Okechukwu Isiguzoro, who spoke on the resolution adopted at the
meeting, said Igbo youths would never be associated with a
political party that had exhibited ethnic and religious bias as the
APC.
According to him, the Yoruba/Hausa alliance which the new party
epitomizes has never favoured Ndigbo since independence and
cautioned Ndigbo against embracing the party.
Isiguzoro said: “APC should therefore concentrate in the North
and West. We (Ohanaeze youths) will make sure that APC does
not win even a councillorship seat in the South-East. The party
was formed out of acrimony. We will not tolerate any gang up in
the South-East”.
He also said Ndigbo youths would not give President Goodluck
Jonathan a single vote in2015, “unless they sit with him and take
stock of what his administration has done or not done for the
zone.”
Isiguzoro said Igbo youths resolved at the meeting that Abia State
governor, Theodore Orji, should be the link between them and
the Presidency, since he had shown enormous concern for the
welfare of youths across the entire Igboland.
He said: “Governor T.A. Orji is the only person we have
confidence in. Governor T. A. Orji is the reason why we have
remained calm in spite of the bomb attacks targeted against Igbos
in various parts of Northern Nigeria.
“We have also been restrained by our brother who is the Chief of
Army Staff. We are therefore giving the President 28 days to call
us for a roundtable so that we can take stock or else, we will not
guarantee him of even a single vote in 2015.”

I mean are the folks who open this sort of threads jobless, or just plain childish?

Do they even know the amount of time and effort devoted to monitoring and moderating comments in a section as active yet volatile as the politics section? Do they know the sleepless night and opportunity cost of these moderating job?

In fairness, these MODs are doing their best bringing sanity to these board and I strongly believe they should be commended, not hated and derided by childish and immature folks. I doff my hat for OAM4J, Afam4ever and Sexkilz. I know it's not easy being caught in the middle of these e-wars, but you folks have nonetheless done your best to ensure sanity is restored. @Seun - the admin/webmaster,

I like to know if you appreciate your MODs, I mean financially. If you don't, I think it's high time you started doing that. These guys (MODs) are working tirelessly for you and deserve more than a pat on the back.

Meanwhile this thread I believe is borne out of ignorance, hatred, and pure malice - and it is only aimed at continuing the e-war. I suggest it should be locked, and allowed to drown in the growing pool of threads.
We the forumites in this section have the right to complain about any moderator! No one was forced to be a moderator, rather it is a voluntary job. If the heat is too much to handle, the door is open. Jarus and ikenna did the same and today and they are not less of what they used to be.
