Private schools owners in Ebonyi State, on Wednesday, protested the closure of their schools by suspected agents of the state government. The protesters, numbering more than 60, alleged that the closure was a political witch-hunt orchestrated by some opposition elements in Governor Dave Umahi’s government. The state government had shutdown three schools belonging to a former Commissioner for Education, Chibueze Agbo, and other schools, alleging tax evasion. According to the state government, the schools were sealed following the failure of the schools’ management to pay certain stipulated amount into the coffers of the state government. The schools sealed were Mandate International School Izhia, Royal Comprehensive College, Ezzangbo and Royal Demonstration Nursery and Primary School Ezzangbo all in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the state. This was even as the state’s Commissioner for Education, Prof. John Eke, while briefing newsmen disclosed that more schools would be shutdown in the coming days. |
Do you believe in zodiac signs? I’m guessing yes, few years ago I used to believe in it to but I don’t anymore. Zodiac signs have good things to say about everyone, as you know there are 12 zodiac signs, I’m sure you know all of them. One of the reasons why I don’t believe in zodiac signs is that they tell you how wonderful a person is because he falls under a birth month yet when two persons of different zodiac signs come together to start a relationship or marriage, it breaks down in 6 months or even file for divorce, if zodiac signs were true, why would people have issues in their relationship? zodiac signs and horoscopes are just make believe. Zodiac signs says Gemini flirts, so they are saying all other signs don’t flirt or cheat. Why can’t zodiac tell us that this sign or that sign has the domestic violence attribute or the possibility of not staying in the relationship forever or have the probability of being in the LGBT community Some of you may say because you didn’t get your zodiac match that’s why the relationship didn’t last forever, really? Have you done any good research on that, use your parents as a test, relatives, neighbours, friends, superstars, athletes then you would know it wasn’t the perfect zodiac match that kept those couples together. Zodiac signs are just there to make you feel good about yourself, it may appear true but look deep. Leroy Morgan http://nowayobloggers.com/blog/love-sex/zodiac-relationship

What should be the cry of Port Harcourt express road residents in Abia state? Should they continue to call for rehabilitation since the road has failed completely, or simply hold on to the health slogan that says SANITAS SANITATUM, OMNIA SANITAS and health for one man health for all. When the Abia State government house is flowered with beauty, the Port Harcourt road Express road has become a refuse dump. This road has been abandoned, and is still getting worse on daily basis. It is so difficult to imagine business running smoothly on such terrain. Now, a year after the new headline “Abia moves to rehabilitate Port Harcourt road” and the patient residents of Port Harcourt road no longer use this major road,. The road which stops at osisi oma leaves whosoever that is travelling further with no excuse than walk his way through by foot as it has become practically impossible for anyone to use vehicle, public or private to ply the road. The Environmental health practitioners of Abia State should remember that HEALTH FOR ONE IS THE HEALTH FOR ALL http://nowayobloggers.com/blog/environment-and-nature/if-road-rehabilitation-fails-let-human-habitation-be-possible-port-harcourt-express-road-aba

Diego Costa has released a statement saying he will not return to Chelsea and he “must return to Atletico Madrid”. Costa is currently in his native Brazil and has threatened to remain there rather than return to London, and then leave on a free transfer. Such a scenario is not acceptable to Chelsea, though, who want the player to return to training and put himself in contention for selection. In the statement, Costa said: “My destination has already been decided. I must return to Atletico Madrid. “It turns out that there is the impasse that Chelsea do not want to release me. But I believe that this situation will be resolved now on my return to Spain.” Chelsea boss Antonio Conte reportedly texted Costa in June informing the striker he was not part of his future plans, and the striker has since remained in his native Brazil. The 28-year-old’s lawyer, Ricardo Cardoso, said last week his client intended to hand in a formal transfer request and is considering legal action against Chelsea in order to force through a move to former club Atletico. Chelsea’s stance remains unchanged from Monday in that they want Costa to return to the club, return to training, get match fit and put himself in contention for selection. http://nowayobloggers.com/blog/sports/diego-costa-i-wont-go-back-to-chelsea

Fascinating photos have emerged of a tree-living, cannibalistic tribe who didn’t know other people existed until the 1970s. The stunning pictures show the Korowai people building treehouses, marching off to hunt and carrying their children in huge nets over their shoulders. Other striking shots show one tribesman with an enormous nose ring, mothers tending to their children near open fires and a traditional meal of sago larvae. The candid photographs were taken by photographer Eric Baccega when he visited the tribe during an expedition in 2000. But they have only now come to light, 17 years after Mr Baccega’s memorable trip to West Papua, Indonesia. The Korowai, also called the Kolufo, number about 3,000, and have been reported to practice ritual cannibalism up to the present day. Anthropologists suspect that cannibalism is no longer practiced by the Korowai clans that have had frequent contact with outsiders. Recent reports suggest that certain clans have been coaxed into encouraging tourism by perpetuating the myth that it is still an active practice. The majority of the Korowai clans live in tree houses on their isolated territory. Since 1980 some have moved into new villages. The Korowai are hunter-gatherers and horticulturalists who practice shifting cultivation, and have excellent hunting and fishing skills. http://nowayobloggers.com/news/inside-the-indonesian-cannibalistic-tribe-that-live-high-up-in-treehouses

A general Africa mentality – ‘Successful women are not marriage material’. I get so bored when guys take this so personal. They prefer a village under 18 who will be a robot to live up with their undying sexual desire and numerous nagging and complaints being rained on them without excuse. Better still for them, they prefer those ones they sleep with only when they want to make babies. Infact, they prefer a baby producing industry without bothering of how the children will be trained. They prefer those girls they could use as punching bags especially when they get tipsy. They force themselves into and she still feels that is one of his duties as the husband. A man is always right, they erroneously believe. It’s appalling how women are been treated in the society. After getting married to such women they still run out to slay queens and hot girls pretending to be single or out-rightly keep them as side chicks . Yet! Men still get jealous when they see their friends or contemporaries married to educated or a successful women. When they sit out for drinks after work such men with successful women as a wives would always want to rush back home so they wives won’t be deprived of they company, But other men would mock them that they had so much fear for their wives, simply because they are married to the ones that would prefer they absence to they presence. At every sense, men take advantage of young ladies who focus on early marriage and drive them quickly into it. I wonder why Africans do not want to consider this a TABOO since it has taken a great toll on them http://nowayobloggers.com/blog/love-sex/this-thing-called-marriage#.WZNoyusfSGw.facebook

KANU AND IPOB’S VISIT TO ABAKALIKI DID NOT MATTER AND MADE NO DIFFERENCE.- MR DIVINE AWAH (TA TO EBONYI STATE GOVERNOR ON SECURITY) The Technical Assistant to Ebonyi State Governor, Mr Divine Awah says the supposed intrusion of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, {IPOB} Nnamdi Kanu into Ebonyi State, was of no effect and carried no force, as there were overlapping security on ground to stop him in his plan to shut Ebonyi down. Mr Awah who is also a security blogger spoke to Nowayo news in Abakaliki. According to him; the Governor of Ebonyi State Engr David Nweze Umahi has not wavered on his non disposition to Biafran agitations but prefers to handle matters related to same as a core Democrat which he is. His words; ‘’My Governor has made it clear that he is not into the Biafran Agenda even though he is an Igbo man and a young man at that, but everybody understands that there is need to address certain situations in Nigeria that are giving rise to agitations.”. On how IPOB came to Ebonyi without hindrance, Mr Awah maintained that Governor Umahi believes in community Policing, as he had flagged off the Ebonyi state neighborhood watch with over 300 youths employed from the thirteen {13}local Government Areas of the State as well as the State Capital Territory, and were provided with motor bikes and communication equipment to aid their operations. ‘’ About 100 of them were directly drafted to monitor the movements and activities of IPOB on that day. We were perfectly in contact with the security operatives who did a great job”. ‘’The tactic we used for the IPOB members on that day could be compared to a commonly used German word “es ist mir egal” this can be simply put in English language as: you really don’t matter to me, whatever you do does not make a difference. Or simply put, I don’t care about what you think you are, what you say or your insults you just don’t matter to me”. ‘’Our refusal to pursue their line of contemplation which was predominantly based on resistance to the use of force on them disappointed and handicapped them’’. ‘’Sometimes we make things look more important than they really were when we take wrong actions. Certain ideologies strive better when pushing, forcing, beating, and imprisoning or killings are applied. These are the publicity spices and eventual acceptance or recognition they desire’’ he maintained. ‘’We froze their ability to endanger the people or destroy property. In effect we frustrated their plans of shutting down Ebonyi state’’. ‘As we tactically confined the group to disability, many people averse and speculated that the group was actually on transit resulting in the statement that Ebonyi would be shut down for three days by their next visit, since the visit in question was not scheduled but a mere ‘on transit stop’. ‘’I appreciate all my colleagues especially Chidebere Egwu and Nchekwube Anakor , the SSA on security and the Security Agencies they did a wonderful work. We remained unprovoked because “es ist mir egal” I also thank the Governor for believing in our ability to help his determination to make Ebonyi safe for all. Even safe for the IPOB members who left without a scratch. Mr Awah re-iterated that the Neighborhood Watch is a well trained team with appropriate security responses, ‘’Even when we have no powers to arrest, we know how to arrest situations and neutralize them. If it comes to free for all fight the IPOB members are not spirits, some of them are also from here, therefore they know us and we know them but we are restricted and confined by our duty to the people and the law that established us. There is no gain repeating to you that there has been drastic reduction of crime in Ebonyi state. It is visible’’ On Yoruba Igbo and Hausa as it is today, Mr Awah said, that nothing has gone wrong; ‘’if people keep saying they want to go, others may as well respond’’. ‘’Yoruba and Hausa do not hate us, somebody may get irritated with your excessive use of hate words in the name of “I want to go” and he will simply react the best way he thinks may answer you in return, but the truth remains, they do not wish us to leave their land’’. On his acquaintance with the state Governor, and his subsequent appointment as a Technical Assistant on Security, Mr Awah said; ‘’Nigerians from various professions and countries of their sojourn have come home to contribute their quota to the development of this country but many were disappointed because of misconception. You may not understand how frustrating it could be when you live outside the country and you see things working fine as if to confirm that God made man in his image and likeness and back home things don’t seem to move, every situation spells metaphor of failure’’. ‘’During his campaign, the Governor said some people were ashamed to identify themselves as Ebonyians and that he was going to change that.’’ ‘’Sincerely speaking he was right. That was the day I made up my mind to work for my State with all my heart because it was with hesitation that we accepted we were from Ebonyi, but today, just two years after, the story is different’’. ‘’Eboyians are proudly posting on the social media that they are from here. His approach to everything is just revolutionary. I am happy working with him and at his digital pace’’. http://nowayobloggers.com/news/kanu-and-ipobs-visit-to-abakaliki-did-not-matter-and-made-no-difference-mr-divine-awah-ta-to-ebonyi-state-governor-on-security

Workers in Ebonyi State have protested what their called an elastic style of processing the Home Renovation Loan, HRL by the Federal mortgage Bank. The civil servants who protested under the aegis of ‘Concerned civil servants’ said they were compelled to visit the office of the Head of service to register their grievances over an endless processing of the Home Renovation loan which has lasted for close to two years without results. Speaking on behalf of the workers, Mr Jeremiah Nwuzor lamented that where workers would have forgotten about the loan after its rigorous and lengthy processes, the State office of the Federal mortgage Bank had continued to distract them to come and fill this or that, which would later be dumped only to be called again to repeat similar processes. Mr Nwuzor regretted that apart from heavy financial commitment which the loan demanded from benefitting workers, as they were made to pay between N20,000 to N50,000 per beneficiary to secure a certified Bill of Quantity, the Bank subject ‘yet to benefit civil servants’ to other repeated minor expenses, even in the face of economic recession. Responding, the State Head of Service, Dr Chamberlain Nwele promised the concerned workers that the State government will do everything possible to ensure that their grievances were taken care of. Dr Nwele revealed that he had earlier set up a 3 man ad hoc committee to look into the possible cause of delay and report back to the management of his office for further necessary actions. He warned that if the Federal Mortgage Bank were unable to fix whatever that had generated the delay which has lasted more than a year, or offer satisfactory or assuaging explanations on what may have occasioned the delay, Ebonyi State government may have no further option than to suspend every deductions accruable to the Bank. He stressed that cases where the state office as well as the National headquarters of the Bank denies responsibility for the delay, will no longer be accepted as one or two beneficiaries of the loan had died in wait for same. http://nowayobloggers.com/news/ebonyi-concerned-workers-protest-over-one-year-processing-of-home-renovation-loan-as-state-govt-tilts-to-stop-mortgage-bank-deductionsupdated |
A facebook user named Gogonte Obediah shared this information on his social media page about an alledged fraudster who claims to be a doctor and orphan. According to Gogonte “There is a certain young man called Kelvin Ndukwe who claims to be a medical Doctor posted to the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu for his housemanship and has been defrauding people, especially NYSC members with pathetic stories of being an orphan and needs help. “According to an NYSC member posted to the Enugu State ministry of Justice, Kelvin Ndukwe came into their apartment telling them that he was posted to the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu for his housemanship and that he was stranded so he needed a place to stay. “They agreed to let him in and they started living together with three NYSC members in the apartment, Kelvin had already told them that his parents were dead and that he had nobody to take care of him so the compassionate young NYSC members decided to help him out with feeding and accommodation pending when he would get paid his allowances as a medical doctor unknown to them that he was a fraudster. “They lived together for some months and they started suspecting that he was lying to them so they started investigation to find out who he really was, they went to the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu to make enquiry about him but nobody knew him there because he was not a staff at the hospital. “Kelvin Ndukwe succeeded in tricking an elderly woman into adopting him since he has no parents and the woman accepted, then Kelvin started obtaining money by tricks from this woman for his medical examination at the hospital which was all lies.” “Kelvin decided to finish up his business by stealing ATM cards, NYSC ID card and some amounts of money of one of the NYSC members as well as the large amount of money he obtained from the lady he had asked to adopt him and ran away. “So far Kelvin has been at large and has refused to pick calls put across to his phone and he is most likely looking for his next victims” http://nowayobloggers.com/blog/youth/fake-medical-doctor-that-into-defrauding-nysc-members-in-enugu

No CDS attendance—no allawee! The attention of the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) has been drawn to corpers’ nonchalant attitude towards attending Community Development programmes, popularly known as CDS. This is a serious offence as the CDS is one of the major aspect of the programme in the country. It is a mandatory exercise for all corp members and its transgression is not to be taken lightly. NYSC has now enforced this by making sure only those who attend CDS can access their monthly allowance. To achieve a strict monitoring of the serving corps members, a biometric attendance of the CD programme has been deployed to capture their data through fingerprints with scanners. Checks revealed that the reason for the biometric attendance is to ensure that no one signs the attendance register and card for another person during the CDs days knowing it would be impossible for someone to have another person’s fingerprints. It also ensured that the total number of corps members that attend CD meetings on every CD days are captured and guaranteed that corps members become more dedicated in their service to the nation by helping to develop their host communities, among others. Lagos state corpers were the first to start this method. Starting with the Oshodi-isolo Local Government Area. According to an NYSC official in the area on the latest development, had this to say “It is a welcomed development which will help ensure that all corps members get their allowances as and when due as long as they pass through the due process. This also means that they would not get their allowances if they violate the process. It simply means that no monthly biometric clearance and weekly attendance of CDs, no monthly allowance for such corps members” Individual corpers have complained about the development, mostly stating that the new process of attendance makes things slow as it is supposed to be attended by all corp members. http://nowayobloggers.com/blog/youth/nysc-gives-condition-for-corpers-monthly-allawee

As workers around the globe celebrate their day, it behoves on Nowayo Service Pride $ Marks to celebrate a reporter Per-excellence, Enenche Akogwu, Channels TV Reporter, who was shot dead in Kano On 20 January. Enenche Akogwu, a reporter with the Lagos –based, award-winning private television station, Channels TV, was shot dead apparently by Islamist militants in Kano, capital of Kano State. Channels TV confirmed his death during its News @10 programme later in the evening. He died after the commercial city of Kano had come under an unprecedented multiple bomb attack, launched by members of the militant Islamist sect, widely known as Boko Haram. Details of Akogwu’s death are still sketchy, but one account said he was recording the locations of the multiple bomb attacks across the city when he was killed. According to the account, Akogwu had gone out to the scene of the Farm Centre police station blast, soon after the first explosion at the police zonal headquarters. Shortly after getting there, he asked a few people loitering around if they could offer eye witness accounts of the blast. One of the young men around, apparently an Islamist militant, pull a gun and shot him at point blank range. He died on the spot. Enenche was a graduate of Benue State University, Makurdi. On his Facebook page, he had written of himself: “My love for Nigeria has been a compelling impetus, charting the course of my life”. He added that he was “courageous in the face of adversities, hopeful when confronted with despair and delighted when the society makes appreciable progress”. It is tragic that he died without seeing the progress he so passionately wished for Nigeria. He was aged 31. Jan 21 2012, channels. Here is another sad story of a painful exit of a yet some serving Corps members who met their premature demise shortly before the official completion of the program. Late Daniel Saanu and late Anthony Christian Ochayi were corps members serving their fathers’ land in Sokoto. They had gone through the service year dutifully waiting for the end. The Passing Out Parade (POP) came, but didn’t meet them. Both were corp members mobilized in the Batch A Stream 1. As was reported, Daniel died on the Passing Out Parade (POP) day for Batch A Stream 1 while Anthony died a week to the event. According to a witness “I learnt he complained of stomach pain. Later, I was told he vomited and his condition was temporarily stable until 11pm on Thursday when he complained of pain and body ache. The Corps members around called the Local Government Inspector of the NYSC, who came down to Kware that evening and arranged for him to be taken to the hospital. He was admitted around 1:00am and died later” Daniel in particular was suspected to have died of a deadly illness that has claimed many others, meningitis. According to another colleague “He neatly packed all his belongings in enthusiasm two days before our POP. He was set to go home. But, he woke up on the eve of the POP and complained of fever. That was all we heard. He died after he was rushed to the hospital” However, despite the speedy response, quick medical attention was denied Daniel by the hospital. The hospital, Usman Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital (UDUTH) bluntly insisted on getting a police report before any form of medical attention would be given to him. In the words of a Corper who witnessed this “When we got to Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital (UDUTH), the medical personnel prevented us from going in. They rejected him, even when we told them the distressed person was a Corps member. The whole drama happened before the NYSC inspector, who came with us. We were made to run around for about two hours in search of police report, before the late Daniel was admitted. By then, it was late, because the pain had drained his energy.” But a medical officer of the hospital had this to say: “His colleagues brought him (the late Daniel) to the hospital almost lifeless. We asked them questions in a bid to identify if the symptoms had any link to meningitis. We asked if he had headache, convulsion, stiff neck and reaction to light. They confirmed he had serious neck pain. “The case was presented as throat pain or sore throat, because of the neck pain. There is a high tendency that the late Corps member may have suffered meningitis, but we cannot say this because it wasn’t confirmed before the body was taken away for burial. It is not true that he was rejected at the hospital.” A colleague that identified himself as Ahmed gave his version of the event “When he was admitted, we stayed around the ward but about four hours later, we saw cotton wool being inserted into his nostrils. We were puzzled at first, because death was the last thing we expected. Our fear was later confirmed. Daniel died.” Reflecting on his life, Boluwatife, a female Corps member who hails from Daniel’s hometown in Ogun State shared their last moments: “I saw him on Wednesday when he came to my lodge to play with Corps members. We discussed about his plan after service and he said he needed to apply for his Master’s degree. He was lively and upbeat about his plans after the NYSC. I never knew that was the last time I would see him. “I learnt he complained of stomach pain. Later, I was told he vomited and his condition was temporarily stable until 11pm on Thursday when he complained of pain and body ache. The Corps members around called the Local Government Inspector of the NYSC, who came down to Kware that evening and arranged for him to be taken to the hospital. He was admitted around 1:00am and died later.” Daniel’s remains were buried last Tuesday in his Ijebu, Ogun State hometown. Late Anthony was said to have died of heart failure, just a week to the POP. He died after he fell while playing football. He was serving at the Government Secondary School, Tsamaye in Sabon Birni Local Government Area. His colleague, who gave his name as Michael, said: “We played football at our PPA’s football field. He looked healthy and fit before the match. Even after the match, he was chatting with some colleagues. All of a sudden, he slumped and died. We thought it was weakness, but he died before we rushed him to the hospital.” http://nowayobloggers.com/blog/youth/regrettably-gone-too-soon#

GRACEVINE DEVOTIONAL Tuesday, April 25, 2017. Ecclesiastes 3:1, 7 KJV "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: [7] ........a time to keep silence, and a time to speak" As a result of speaking at the wrong time, many have lost their miracles to the enemy. Too many believers give out too much information through too much talking in the name of "Positive Confession". Your words spoken too early alerts the enemy of a coming breakthrough that has not matured yet. Premature testimonies trigger unnecessary battles in life. Not everyone is happy that you are about to succeed you know? Do you not know that is not everyone you know or come in contact with that will be excited about what God is doing in your life? Beware child of God. Many great destinies have either died prematurely or suffered excessively as a result of talking too early. LEARN FROM JOSEPH BEN JACOB in the Bible. He dreamed a dream and correctly saw God's plan for his destiny. In his youthful indiscretion he told it to his parents and his brethren and as a result spent decades in struggle. Although God worked in the midst of the situation to bring the dream to pass eventually but Joseph suffered unnecessarily longer. Become a gatherer and not a dispenser of information. Many pregnancies have been aborted in the same way. Elizabeth hid her pregnancy of John the Baptist even from her own cousin Mary for 6 whole months. But for her angelic visitation, Mary would never have known until Elizabeth puts to bed. Discretion is necessary to avoid frustration. LEARN FROM MARY Mary likewise heard and believed what the angel declared to her. She heard also the testimony of the shepherds concerning her baby Jesus. See what she did. Luke 2:19 KJV But Mary KEPT all these things, and PONDERED THEM IN HER HEART. What you don't announce, the enemy cannot fight. Proper testifying is to tell the world of what God HAS DONE ALREADY, not what He said He will do for you. Stop trying to impress people by standing up in public to testify about an ongoing miracle, nobody eats half cooked food. You are hurting yourself and aborting miracles with your mouth. Receive the vision that God has given to you. Hide it in your heart like precious gold. Telling it to others will not validate what you heard from God. It doesn't matter whether anyone else knows, believes or runs with you. You and God are all that is needed to bring the vision to pass. LEARN to trim your words. Instead, in the secret place, pray out the vision until it becomes sudden reality in your life for all to see. Then shall your public testimony bring Glory to God and laughter to your life. May Divine Wisdom rule your mouth child of God. Remember, there's a time to speak and a time to keep silence. Understanding the difference between them shall save you many troubles. Shalom.
