One way you know a looser........is that they are quick to abusive language. You will only succeed in talking to yourself and no one else. ....and you think GMB can bring about any meaningful change . . What GMB fought in his about two years of rule was 'war against Indiscipline' and not corruption. Whereby he sent soldiers all over town terrorising, embarrassing and flogging grown ups for not queue, even children were not left out. People were living in fear and terror. That's not leadership but terrorism. Media were not free to air their views on sensitive issues......you cannot get the best out of anyone that way. He fought corruption by forcefully accusing and terrorising innocent politicians. I remember the case of Late pa Awolowo. and for the about two years he ruled before he was ousted by a coup, the same way he gained power, no economic milestone was achieved in Nigeria by him. So I wonder what magic you think he will perform. |

Politics › Re: Ignorant APC Vice Prof. Osinbajo Does Not Know Gas by Chiaka(f): 9:13am On Feb 24, 2015 |
ogb5: Voting in knowledgeable people is one of the beauty of democracy. This has been well developed by the advanced democracies in the west. To ensure that the nation elects the right people with the right skills, experience and qualifications, politicians are normally grilled on a range of subjects to gauge their understanding of the issues affecting their countries or constituency as the case may be.
In this vein looking at the power policy thrust of the APC as being put forward by no other person than their vice presidential candidate bring to fore some gross deficiency in the policy of the APC on power and shows that professor Osinbajo does not know what power generation entails.
The APC vice has consistently said that their government will improve power supply, the question is how will they do that. The answer to the question of 'how' was answered by Osinbajo on Tuesday in Ondo during a town hall session. This is what he had to say.
1. They will decentralise power generation. 2. The decentralised power plants will have gas supplied to them by trucks instead of pipelines 3. They will copy the model of power plants already established in Lagos state.
herein lies the ignorance of the professor, also hidden in the rhetoric of the professor is the avenue for looting the treasury. 1. Power generation has been decentralised. Anyone, be it federal government, state government, local government or private companies can now set up power generation plant and sell such produced power as they deem fit. So Osinbajo should tell us something different.
2. Technically you can not supply a power plant like the one in Lagos with gas using trucks. This simply mean the professor and those formulating his policy on power generation knows nothing about power generation. The Lagos plant uses natural gas, that is another theme for methane gas. Industrially methane has 2 means of being transported, by pipelines when the point of use is less than 5,000 km and as liquefied natural gas by ships followed by re gasification when the point of use is more than 5, 000 km from the point of production. The gas supplied by trucks is liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) used for domestic cooking. No country in the world bases her power generation on LPG. Moreover Nigeria does not have the facility to produce adequate LPG to cater for domestic cooking, so using LPG for power generation is out of the question. So Osinbajo promising to supply gas to power plants with trucks is simply talking about something that is not possible.
3. Osinbajo promised to model his modular power plants after the Lagos power plant. Simply put, the Lagos power plant is among the most expensive gas fired power plant in the world. The Ikeja modular power plant has an installed capacity of 10 megawatts and was built at a cost of 3.2 billion Naira. That was equivalent to about 2 billion usd per gigawatt of electricity. Globally the benchmark cost for gas fired power plants is 1 billion usd per gigawatt of electricity, the Ikeja plant cost twice the global benchmark for such plants. By planning to go with the Lagos model, Osinbajo is telling us the will deliver power at twice the global benchmark cost, and at a cost far higher than the current government is delivering power projects. Several gas fired power plants delivered by the current government in the last 4 yrs were delivered at less than 1 . 3 billion usd per gigawatt.
So Osinbajo has no clue about power generation, he is simply spooling out impossible promises to confuse the electorates. Worse part is that he is a pastor that is supposed to stand by the truth, how will he face God at the end of the day after telling blatant lies on the campaign trail.
http://www.punchng.com/news/apc-will-slash-tariffs-on-imported-cars-osinbajo/ With no clue on how to bring about change. I don talk am tire say the change when APC dey shout na 'change' as per money when go enter their pocket. Leave matter!!!! |

Pheals: National Vice-President of the South-South chapter of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Dr. Simeon Okah, has described as a mockery on spiritual leaders the allegation by Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi that the Christians Association of Nigeria collected N6bn bribe from the Presidency. Okah asked Amaechi and others who have joined him in making the allegation to stop lest they incurred the wrath of God. He spoke in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, on Sunday during the inauguration of the state chapter executive of PFN. He said it was not true that the leadership of CAN collected N6bn to support President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election bid as alleged. Okah said, “When I read the report, I called Dr. Okoye, who is the Aso Rock Pastor when Obasanjo was President, to find out the veracity of the newspaper reports and he said it was not true. “I call on those making such allegations to prove their case or repent before they incur the wrath of God on themselves”. He said Amaechi as a Christian should know the implication of such allegation on spiritual leaders. “If Amaechi is a Christian that he claims to be, he knows the implication of making such allegation against people who are his spiritual leaders. This issue is beyond politics and I thought that Amaechi, who is a Christian, knows the implication of making such allegation and I call on him to name the people the money was given to or shut up,” he said. www.punchng.com/news/n6bn-bribe-amaechi-mocking-spiritual-leaders-pfn-says/ Ameachi will reap all the evil he has sowed!!! |
Politics › Re: Jonathan Forced Election Shift, Amaechi Insists by Chiaka(f): 9:05am On Feb 24, 2015 |
midolian: Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, on Sunday, insisted that President Goodluck Jonathan forced the postponement of the general elections.
Amaechi, who was a guest on Channels Television ‘Politics Today’, alleged that Jonathan ignored the assurance of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that it was ready for the elections.
The Director General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign explained that INEC Chairman, Attahiru Jega, had earlier given assurance that it was more prepared for the general elections than it was before the 2011 general elections.
While expressing dissatisfaction at the postponement, Amaechi queried: “how will my party be happy with the postponement when Nigerians were ready for the elections and the President and the military will sit down and say, ‘no, you cannot have election on that day.’
“I hope that by March 28, they would have been able to decimate the Boko Haram; if they don’t, I hope they do not postpone the election again.”
“The election postponement is a wrong decision because 80 per cent of the persons at the Council of State meeting held in Abuja had asked the President not to ask for postponement.
“The INEC chairman made a comment that was interesting. He said, ‘if you say that the 2011 election was credible, Mr. President, I am telling you that I am more prepared now than I was in 2011’.
“If you look at now and when the election was postponed, you will see that nothing has changed, but the military had reported that it had taken back some communities in the volatile north-east under the control of the Boko Haram terrorists,” Amaechi said.
“Is the President saying that if he knew he would win the election on that day, would he have asked for postponement?
“If you like shift elections to May 29 or June 12, the truth is that Nigerians want change.
“Go to the street and hear; Nigerians want a change and the things that the APC provide are change so they want to vote for the APC.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was hoping to use the military to intermediate voters and rig the election.”

Politics › Re: Money Can’t Buy All Nigerians – Kwankwaso by Chiaka(f): 9:04am On Feb 24, 2015 |
makzeze: Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of Kano state yesterday said no level of monetary inducement could make Nigerians vote for President Jonathan next month. Reacting to reports that the president had allegedly disbursed billions of naira to traditional, religious leaders and other stakeholders to support his re-election, Kwankwaso said even if Jonathan spents all the money in the country’s coffers, Nigerians would vote him out in the forthcoming election. “We have passed the issue of money, it is not the issue of how much billions you have. You know even ordinary people know that the PDP has stolen the people’s money and they are disbursing it and everybody is aware and it is shameful thing. “It is Nigeria’s money, they give it to politicians, groups, clergymen and all sorts of people but I can assure you that this will not help them. If money was the issue I wouldn’t have been elected in 2011. We are aware that they are distributing money to people but I can assure you that it wouldn’t make any difference,” he said in an interview with newsmen in Kano”. According to him, the disbursement of public money by the PDP government to woo the electorate is further crippling the country’s economy. “Thieves are stealing money and are giving it to thieves to disburse as gifts to Nigerians in order to vote for them. The money will not make any change as it will not even get to the people because it would be stolen by the thieves in the government. They are taking their gratuities and pensions,” he added. He said Nigerians were more enlightened now than in 2011 and the insecurity challenge coupled with the dwindling economy brought about the clamour for change.

Politics › Re: Jonathan Distributed Dollars To Lagosians - Fashola by Chiaka(f): 9:02am On Feb 24, 2015 |
sincerenigerian: Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, on Sunday alleged that President Goodluck Jonathan had spent five days in the state, holding meetings with different people and doling out monies in hard currencies them.
Consequently, the governor described the president’s alleged outreach to different groups including traditional rulers, cooperative societies and market women among others as an act of desperation.
Fashola, who spoke after inspecting some ongoing projects in Ibeju-Lekki and on Lagos Island yesterday, expressed disappointment at some statements credited to the president at meetings with the interest groups at the State House, Marina.
He said: “I want to assume that he did not make a statement that he would deliver Lagos residents from bondage. The question to ask Mr. President is whether he had come to free them from bondage.
“He was here for five days meeting with different people and groups, distributing money in dollars. It is an un-presidential statement made in an act of desperation. That means he lived in bondage in five days if he had come into the state to free people.
“If he can live here for five days moving with patrol vehicles that we paid for, let him go and spend five days in Chibok and he will know what bondage is,” the governor said while reacting to statements credited to the president.
While inspecting a new cemetery in Ibeju-Lekki, the governor openly disclosed that he bought his own vault where his remains would be buried when he joined his ancestors more than four years ago.
He observed that death “is a necessary end that will come when it will come”, quoting Shakespeare, saying there is need for people to prepare for it. “We are here to inspect a cemetery. We often do not like to talk about, but there is a need for it because the population continue to expand and the Lekki sub- region is growing very fast.
“If you look at Ikoyi Cemetery, Abari Cemetery and all of that are more than 100 years old, they were built by colonialists and left behind for us. When you look at the way they have also managed them, many families cannot even visit the vaults where their loved ones are resting.
“We have this strategic partnership now with private sector. The investors are going to deliver a cemetery like no other. They will manage it and make the cost also competitive. There will be high, medium and low density vaults for people who really want to make a statement at their exit.
“It is the truism of life that everyone who comes must go so as we are building hospitals, roads, schools imbibing survival strategy we must also plan for the end. This sounds as something people do not want to discuss. I have bought my vault. It surprises people. I paid for it four years ago. As I always tell people if you come here for life you must plan to go. Those who do not want to go should not come.”
At the inspection of Lagos Court of Arbitration, the governor noted that plans had been concluded by his administration to unveil the first international arbitration court in West Africa sub- region, saying the compelling need to resolve trade disputes locally rather than travelling to London and Paris informed the setting up of the centre in the state.
According to him, “this is the place for dispute resolution. It is the Lagos Arbitration centre. We could save a lot of money and create employment through this court. We have lost a lot of funds to other countries in terms of arbitration in the past. When dispute arise in Nigeria, the preferred place is either Paris, France or London, United Kingdom.”
He, therefore, observed that the centre “is nothing special there. All we need is to create a centre that will have the necessary reputation. We have the personnel because some of the best arbitrators in the continent are Nigerians. We also have the economy for the arbitration because a lot of construction, development and Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects are ongoing. Dispute from there could be resolved here.”
