Gbawe: They are indeed "shameless fools". Living in a nation where they are very secure to a large extent yet agitating for the continuation of insecurity that can see thousands of Nigerians murdered by marauders who operate for hours without any confrontation from Nigeria security operatives. The funds voted to secure Britain is deployed to do just that yet these fools want us to continue with a man who supervised the embezzlement of $18 billion voted to fight terrorism and is reduced to hankering for a $1 billion loan to do the same thing the stolen $18 billion was meant for. Truly "shameless fools" these lot. Ok there are no UK citizens in Nigeria abi?? They don't want a past dictatorship na by force? |

mrmetoo1: Frequency of what?? Frequency of his hospital visits that you know of or frequency of the death wish on him by Fayose? The man is 73, I have two grandmas that are in their 90s and they're still sound. My dad is knocking on the door of 70 and he's still very healthy. The only reason PDP is peddling this falsehood is because of age. Pastor Adeboye is 73 and no one is wishing him death. OBJ is in his 70s and he's probably more active than a lot of young folks on here. This is purely political.
As far as looking frail, Buhari has always been skinny. If you read the report from the school he went in India, reference was actually made about his skinny stature, so there's nothing to that
I agree that if he's in the UK for any medical checkup, APC should tell us. There's absolutely nothing wrong with medical checkup. It's actually very irresponsible to demonize medical checkups. So if APC is hiding the fact that he went for a checkup then they're wrong as well.
In the event though that he's not sick, he didn't go for any checkup and PDP is spreading this falsehood then that's really pathetic. No probs bros. Time reveals a lot. As time goes on. Things will become clearer. A mere check-up shouldn't be for so long that's just what bothers me..... |

optimusprimer: General Muhammadu Buhari in UK: I Will Maintain a Modest Lifestyle as President - Buhari...Will Resuscitate Nigerian Airways...All Presidential Aircrafts Will Be Brought Under Nigerian Airways "One of the major killer of our economy apart from corruption is Waste. Our scarce resources are being plundered away very carelessly and unnecessarily wasted. "Let me give an instance, presently, there are more than 6 aircraft in the presidential fleet. What do you call that? "Billions of naira is budgeted every year for the maintenance of these aircraft not to talk of operational cost and other expenses. "You may want to ask what a Nigerian President is doing with so much aircraft when a Prime Minister of Britain fly around using the same public aircraft like an ordinary Briton. "Go and check and compare with that of any developed country in the world, the office of the Nigerian President is a very expensive one inspite our high level of poverty and joblessness. "Despite all these, you still find a Nigerian Minister spending about N10billion to charter an aircraft for just one year."Now, for me, when we come into office, all these waste will be blocked and properly channelled into our economy."We intend for instance, to bring back our National carrier, the Nigerian Airways."We shall do this by bringing all the aircraft in the presidential fleet into the Nigerian airway and within a year increase the fleet into about 20."What is the difference between me and those who elected us to represent them, absolutely nothing. Why should Nigerian President not fly with other Nigerian public?"Why do I need to embark on a foreign trip as a president with a huge crowd with public funds?"Why do I need to go for foreign medical trip if we cannot make our hospital functional?"Why do we need to send our children to school abroad if we cannot develop our university to compete with the foreign ones?"Why, and why must our people be servants to the foreigners in the midst of plenty? I can go on and on."I came here in the UK and I chose to trek just to make sure I send a message back home to some people who wish us dead."This is not my struggle, it is our collective efforts to save Nigeria from those who have failed us for 16 years."-

True talk!!!! Vote GEJ Dotng: Ex-Militants Make U-Turn, Beg Nigerians To Vote For Jonathan
In a remarkable change of tone, ex-militant leaders from the Niger Delta zone who had threatened mayhem if President Goodluck Jonathan was defeated in the forthcoming presidential election, yesterday pleaded with Nigerians to vote to re-elect the incumbent president. They suggested that Mr. Jonathan be returned to office based on what they described as the noticeable achievements of his administration, noting that the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC) had waged a campaign of hate against the president.
Speaking as members of the Leadership, Peace and Cultural Development Initiatives (LPCDI), the ex-militant figures stated that, though the media campaign against President Jonathan was filled with hatred and deceit, the Nigerian voters should support the president’s re-election based on the achievements of his administration in the areas of education, power, infrastructural development and security.
The ex-militants issued their new toned-down endorsement of Mr. Jonathan at the end of a meeting presided over by the group’s national coordinator, Reuben Wilson, popularly known as General Pastor Reuben. The meeting was held yesterday in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State. The group called on voters to focus on Mr. Jonathan’s performance instead of the rhetoric of hate against his administration.
Briefing reporters on the outcome of their meeting, Mr. Wilson said, “we resolved to call on Nigerians, particularly eligible voters, to rate the candidates for the presidential election based on performance and eligibility. President Goodluck Jonathan has done well and he should be voted in by Nigerians for [a] second term. They should assess him based on performance and not the region he comes from.”
His tone differed from a previous stance when the group warned that they would not countenance any attempt to vote out the president, with some of their members threatening that they would shut down oil production should the president be defeated.
In their latest softened statement, Mr. Wilson told reporters, “Jonathan has done well. Why are people opposing him? Is it because he comes from the Niger Delta? Would they have shown so much hatred and insincerity if he had come from the northern part of the country? The people of the South-South and the Niger Delta are feeling bad over the rising insults and poor rating in spite of the huge achievement of the present administration. We advised the opposition party and General Buhari to come out [openly] and declare that President Goodluck Jonathan has done well.”
He added: “Nigerians should check the achievements in the areas of security, peace and development. The amnesty program under the capable hands of Honorable Kingsley Kuku has ensured that over 3,000 youths are trained on scholarship and skill acquisition. Aside from showing readiness in the battle against insurgency with the proper procurement of arms and ammunition for the military, President Jonathan has ensured the recovery of over N300 billion of stolen funds and blocked any corrupt loopholes in the system. He has done well also in the area of roads and infrastructures with the judicious use of Sure-P funds.”
The ex-militants accused state governors who defected from the PDP to APC of playing to the gallery without differentiating their achievements in office under the PDP and the APC. “These governors are deceitful. They should tell Nigerians what they have been able to achieve under the APC. They should call their people together and tell them why they should vote for their stooges in the next governorship elections under the APC. All they have achieved in the states under their control was achieved under the PDP,” the group stated.

Why aint they happy over the Victory of the Nigerian soldiers. ?seems for APC is all about politics and no National interest......or where they enjoying the killings of innocent Nigerians Nigeria and Nigerian should be first before political interest........this is how a real change can come......with these behaviours on APC side, only keeps me thinking the chant about change was just a mediocrity. |

gists: Jona the serial liar never told us he was going for a medical check. Ebati Abati tried to cover GEJ medical checkup in Germany up describing it as a "personal visit". Even that of his wife was denied until it became apparent. 'Jona the serial liar never '.......smells more like hatred than any other thing. |

gists: A few months ago, Nigerians woke up to the sudden disappearance of president Jonathan. The Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity) Reuben Abati tried to play down the president's visit to a German hospital by saying the president went on a "private visit". Nigerians - both APC and PDP supporters wished the president well and prayed for him to get well soon. Nobody saw it as an "unpardonable crime against humanity" for the president to fall sick and to seek medical attention. After all he is just a human being. The only exception was that some of us questioned why our president (a serving one for that matter) like his predecessor, preferred to seek medicare abroad rather than equipping local hospitals and upgrading our health care system - subject of another debate.
See thread here: https://www.nairaland.com/1869783/president-jonathan-sick-flown-germany
Barely 6 months later, the hypocrites now cry to heaven because General Buhari is RUMOURED to be in a hospital in UK. I do not know and if I may borrow the president's words "I don't give a damn" whether or not General Buhari is in a hospital. When P-babe aka PEJ also seek medical attention abroad, nobody made it a show like this.
When senator david mark was flown to Israel for medical treatment, saTANist didn't see the heavens falling as a result of the ill-health of the country's 3rd citizen which sahara reporter termed as a mockery of our health care institution: http://saharareporters.com/2012/04/21/david-marks-israel-treatment-mockery-deplorable-health-system-nigeria
Similarly, Not much headline was made when Senator Magnus Abe of Rivers went to the UK to get treatment for a supposed gun-shot injury sustained when Mbu led Nigerian Police to disrupt APC rally in Port Harcourt.
The hypocrisy of these saTANist blinds them to the fact that as far back as 2012, Thisday carried a report that Nigerians generally spends about N80B on medical treatments abroad. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/okowa-nigerians-spend-n80bn-on-overseas-medical-treatment-annually/129897/
There are countless examples of Nigerians who have gone abroad to seek medical attention. Many of these cases did not raise this kind of dust. The genuine question that was asked is why should people like IBB (8yrs in Power); Yar' Adua/GEJ (both serving presidents) go abroad for medical treatment when they had/have the power, authority and resources to build and equip our health care infrastructures?
As far as I am concerned, there have been reports that the General is not in any hospital in the UK, but even if he is, "I don't give a damn"! The president, P-babe AKA mama-P, David Mark, Magnus Abe, Sullivan Chime and so many others living and dead have gone abroad for treatment at one time or the other without this crocodile tears (and I dare say even Ayo Fayose is not left out) Frequency is what we talking about here.....even physically GMB looks frail and sickly compared to GEJ, I know you trying to score some points......No problem about that, but some things are way too glaring to cover up. |
Politics › Re: Obasanjo’s Membership Card Had Expired, Says PDP. by Chiaka(f): 8:41am On Feb 25, 2015 |
PhockPhockMan: Two weeks after former President Olusegun Obasanjo tore his Peoples Democratic Party membership card, the party claimed on Tuesday that the card being held by the former President had expired.
It said that the card hitherto owned by Obasanjo was signed by the party’s former Acting National Chairman, Alhaji Kawu Baraje.
Baraje has since left the party and he is now a chieftain of the main opposition party, the All Progressives Congress.
While declaring his leaving the party, Obasanjo had asked the Chairman of the PDP in his ward at Abeokuta, Mr. Usman Oladunjoye, to tear his membership card.
Commenting on Obasanjo’s action, the National Secretary of the party, Dr. Wale Oladipo, said the card had been changed.
Oladipo spoke during a courtesy call on him by some students, who claimed to be working for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan.
He said the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, and himself signed the current cards being used by the party members.
He said, “Baba (Obasanjo) is over 80 years and my mother is around Obasanjo’s age and when you reach that age, you do things that only you can explain.
“Secondly, you will see that Baba did not tear our card. He asked somebody ostensibly to do the tearing and I am assuring you that the card that was torn was not the current PDP card.
“The current PDP card is signed by Mu’azu and Oladipo. So, the card he tore was a Baraje card which we were going to destroy anyway. So, I think Baba started it.”
He added that Obasanjo might have left the party in order for it to have more followers.
Oladipo said, “Lastly, Baba is a very intelligent man. When Baba was helping us, he knows that a lot of people could have complained that they could have voted for the PDP but Baba is there.
“You know when a big tree thrives in a big forest, smaller trees cannot grow. If that big tree leaves, 10 to 20 smaller trees will grow.
“In politics, one big tree has a vote while 20 small trees have 20 votes. If you do the arithmetic, I am a scientist, I know that head or tail, it is a win-win situation for the PDP.”
The party also vowed to shock the APC in the South-West, where it said it would spring surprises.
The Deputy National Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus, stated this while speaking with journalists in Abuja on Tuesday.
He said with the support which he said was coming for the party, there was no way the party would not win the presidential election.
Secondus said this was where the confidence was coming from for the party and the President.
He said, “Look at our pedigree. A party that was formed less than one year ago can’t win elections with media vibes.
“Elections are won at polling units and we have the pedigree and statistics that have shown from 1999 till date that we have been consistent.”

Politics › Re: Ohanaeze Sold Igbo Interest to Endorse Jonathan - Okorie by Chiaka(f): 8:37am On Feb 25, 2015 |
MayorofLagos: http://allafrica.com/stories/201502230916.html
Abakiliki — Presidential candidate of the United Progressives Party (UPP) in the forthcoming general elections, Chekwas Okorie, has stated that the socio-political group Ohanaeze Ndigbo sold Igbo interest to endorse President Goodluck Jonathan for re-election.
Speaking with journalists in Enugu, Okorie decried the situation where Ohanaeze leaders were fighting over bribe obtained for the endorsement of a presidential candidate.
According to him, when an umbrella body of Ndigbo would require inducement to give an endorsement, where lies the Igbo interest?
The UPP chair noted that if the leadership of Ohanaeze had gone to negotiate with the demands of their people, they would no have been asking for inducement to endorse Jonathan's re-election bid.
Okorie said he was surprised that, in spite of the sacrifices he has made for Ohanaeze and Igbo people in general, he offered himself for the presidency, which Igbos have been yearning for, and yet those who call themselves Igbo leaders did not support one of their own, but endorsed Jonathan.
"I feel disappointed. But I feel that Ohanaeze has betrayed Ndigbo more than I feel betrayed. You see, they have brought shame to Ndigbo. Look at an umbrella body like Ohanaeze.
"They are now exposing themselves to public ridicule. They are now accusing them of collection N5 billon for an endorsement and they are denying they didn't collect.
"But, definitely, they are dishing out some money to chapters of Ohanaeze. Where did that money come from? At the same time, the current President-General of Ohanaeze is shamelessly telling the public that Rotimi Amaechi and Rochas Okorocha are funding the other side, that is the Ralph Obioha, Mbazulike Amechi side.
"You now have an Ohanaeze that is drawing money outside Igboland to fight each other. So, I feel disappointed as a person, but I feel sorry for Igbo people because these people have betrayed them," he said.
Meanwhile, former Minister of Culture and Tourism, Ambassador Frank Ogbuewu, who is the Deputy Coordinator of the Jonathan/Sambo 2015 Presidential Campaign organisation in Ebonyi State, has said that Governor Martin Elechi is against the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan and all the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2015 elections.
Ogbuewu, while declaring that the PDP in the state does not need the help of the governor to ensure victory for Jonathan and all it candidates, said that, "Elechi was not a member of PDP and there is no way such character can make Jonathan lose in the state."
Briefing newsmen in Abakaliki, he stressed that though Elechi has no capacity to make Jonathan lose in Ebonyi, the political situation in the state is unique as "this is the first time in the state where a PDP government is working for the opposition Labour Party at the state level and also pretending to be working for the PDP presidential candidate".
Ogbuewu said: "How can Elechi claim he is working for Jonathan when he has not attended any of the PDP rallies in the state? We have a unique situation in Ebonyi.
"Elechi is still a PDP leader in the state because he has not openly denounced his membership but he has no capacity to make the President lose in Ebonyi because he is not a politician and he is not a member of PDP in the first place.
"In fact, the position he is occupying now came by chance. He took my chance, because he was not in the picture when an Ikwo man was needed".
He also re-affirmed that the governorship candidature of Dave Umahi has once more united all the stakeholders and political bigwigs in the state, expressing optimism that Ebonyi would be better off by the time Umahi wins because people would be free to volunteer ideas and money to develop the state. Is this about tribe or party I don't get, the talk should be about a party and Nigeria as a country right ? |
