As I speak, 4 of those teams I highlighted along with england are on course to make the semis.
England on any given day can defeat any those teams.
Besides, 2 , if not 4 of those teams would definitely meet each other at the quarterfinals stage thereby eliminating one/two of them.

Thats the thing with the media, there is too much hype and pressure put on the team.
If you believe the bookies, England are the second favourites for the worldcup while some even list them as co favourites.
On the other hand, the italian bookies list Italy as 4th or 5th favourite even though they are the defending champions.
