Having said that and taking no sides on the current issue ongoing, i hope this serves as a general reminder to people in this forum patronizing online resellers on the potential issues that can arise. There are several reputable dealers/distributors/resellers with shops, verified addresses and online presence that one can safely purchase from with peace of mind and guarantee/warranty. As soon as your money leaves your account, your left at the mercy of these online sellers and these are examples of such issues. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice shame on me. The fact that people have to resort to screenshots of whats app chats and voice notes to gather incriminating evidence is too much jare. On top my money o. For the people that continue to patronize these people here, personally, you will get less sympathy from me. Back to the matter. Stop giving Sorotec bad pr because of ur negligence. This man had 2 issues with d Sorotec inverter he bought.
Bus over voltage alarm
and touch button issues.
The bus over voltage can be stopped by reducing ur lithium battery absorb and float voltage.
The touch button issue is however not his fault.
The touch buttons keep pressing itself as soon as mains comes in, but this issue can be solved by connecting your earth to the inverter. After several complains and his earth not solving the issue, I applied for a touch button from Sorotec in Which they sent me another spare touch button.
When the spare part came I called him to send his inverter, this man didn't send the inverter becos he can't afford to be in the dark for 2 days. I then sent him the spare part to fix it in Benin since he doesn't want to send it to Lagos cos he doesn't have a spare he can use.
This man didn't install the spare part I sent him only for him to call me after some months (I can't remember exactly ) that the inverter packed up. He has blown the MOSFETs and igbt. I told him we don't tend to MOSFETs and igbt as under warranty but he should send it. He sent it back with the spare part he didn't fix. I told him if he had fixed this thing, the touch button won't press itself and scatter his settings. I fixed this inverter with over 70k and sent it back to him and the touch button problem was solved and he also reduced his charging voltage wch solved the bus over voltage error. He is someone I know for a while, so it's not a big deal for me to spend that amount on some1 I thought was a friend.

So What else do you want from me or Sorotec.
Why the bad pr. Several people use Sorotec without issues.

What has shocked me in all of this is that I sent you almost 200K for cables, you have dubiously reduced the quantity by close to 50 feet. Is that not enough grouse for me to complain or be mad?

This is a guy I have invited to Benin to work for friends on a couple of occasions. Even after negotiating fees with him, I offer for him to stay in my house with his boys, I provide food for him and even take him and his boys to outings to unwind just so he doesn't spend on accommodation.

I am interested in how Zeestone has done me a favor because I have paid over the odds for everything he has ever done with his incompetence.

Even one of the houses he came to work in Benin has leakage problems which they have been battling since zeestone installed the panels. A couple of people have complained about him damaging roofs too on this thread but I choose to ignore.

I want to bring the notice of everyone here to beware of a solar installer @zeestone. I have always noticed that he has dubious traits but I kept managing because there is a popular saying that the devil you know is better than the angel you do not know.

I ll start from the very beginning, this is a long read so please bear with me.

I was introduced to Zeestone by niyi as far back as 5 years ago. I negotiated installation costs with him back then for a solar install for my house and he came to benin to do the install. He quoted me for a roll of 6mm dc cables along with other accessories which I paid for and when he came to Benin, he couldn't present the roll of 6 mm cables. He had apparently bought 20 meters believing it would be enough and not refunded my money. To ensure that the job progressed, I decided to let it fly. My concern was that he did a good job.

I have had numerous issues with the install but that is a story for another day.

I then had issues with my old felicity inverter which had served over 4 years and it was time for a change. I contacted Zeestone and he recommended a sorotec inverter. He charged me close to 400,000 naira and he sent the inverter. I cannot say 100% that the inverter was new because the carton had been opened. From the first week, i noticed that inverter was displaying errors, bus over voltage, and touch screen was always going blank. I complained to him for over 6 months and he kept recommending all sorts of things until the inverter suddenly packed up. I sent it to him and he claimed to have fixed it under warranty. Upon returning the inverter, I continued to have bus over voltage errors along with other errors. Only the touch screen seemed to have been resolved. I opted to just forget about it and keep managing the inverter with thought that I would buy a new one whenever it decides to pack up again.

Now, to the issue that has broken the camels back. one week ago, I ordered for 6mm 4 core cables from zeestone against my better judgement, I had already reached out to a couple other reputable people and they didn't have in stock so I was forced to go back to him.

I paid for 50 Meters according to the agreement. Upon sending to Benin, the installer said the cable was incomplete. I went to the site and saw that they had to change the original plan for the trunking so the cable will be enough. I called Zeestone and expressed my misgiven, he claimed that they sent 50 yards and not meters. Why would I pay for meters and you would send yards? That is the first red flag. Eventually, I pacified the owner of the project and said it may have been an error. After install, we needed to change the borehole cable that goes into the well so we decided to order another 50 meters. This time, zeestone made it clear it was in yards. I also sang it over and over again that he should ensure he confirms the measurement before sending the cable to Benin.

I received the cable on Monday, left it in my car and took it to the site this morning. I wanted to witness the usage because I did not want stories again. They pulled the solar borehole pump and attached the new cable. Alas, the cable couldn't even cover the 8 pipes for the borehole. At that point, I asked them to pull the borehole and I went to bring my measuring tape, I measured the cable sent and it was 126 feet which would be 42 yards. That meant my previous assertion was correct and he reduced the quantity bought.

I called him and was very angry. I sent videos to him on the measurement. I had specifically asked him to measure the cable before sending to Benin and for reasons best known to him, he decided not to and sent it anyways. I told him clearly that I would take this issue to nairaland and zeestone flared up. He said there was nothing he could do about it.

He insulted me, said everything he has been doing for me is a favor, he fixed my inverter for 70K according to him. This is an inverter that went bad after 5 months under warranty. There was nothing he did not say

Can anyone give me an idea of how many bags of cement it would take to cast a 5 inch concrete deck 43 feet by 98 feet.

My engineer is quoting 250 bags and that is scary. I understand it would be not 100% accurate but I just want an idea.

Please I need advise on a construction project. We are planning to erect a foundation for a two storey building on a plot of land which used to house an old building. We have demolished the old house and then noticed that the old soakaway pit is inside the perimeter of the new foundation. In fact a pillar for the new building falls into the old soakway pit location. My engineer says to open the soakaway pit and fill with sand and compact for the next couple of months before the new foundation. My concern is that I have seen foundations settle even after 2 years so I am worried about that possibility. The pit is 8ft by 6ft

Experienced engineers in the house, what are my options to fill the Soakaway pit?

I would appreciate all suggestions.

Please, has anybody had any redemption issues wit Stanbic IBTC mutual funds in the last few weeks? I did a redemption over one week ago and after the funds were not credited into my account, I called them after 48 hours. They claim the transfer to my account failed and they are working on it. Everyday, I get text messages saying they are working on it and it is due to pressure on the payment platform. I do not know what that means. Calling them twice in the last few days has done nothing to resolve the issue. I am not sure if this is a general issue.

Can anyone please advise if they have had any such issues recently?

Hmmm. Sorotec. I have a 5.5kw unit (bought late last year) acting up. Displaying error 32. Manual says it's a communication failure between inverter and remote display. It will not connect to battery and when switched on by solar imput, will temporary display no battery mode before bringing out the error.
I had to put back my backup 5kw Gennex while waiting for the resolution.
My battery is 12kwh LiFePo4 and connected to the battery through positive and negative power cables only.

Useless inverter @sorotec Revo ii pro or whatever it is called. I don’t have to list issues cos it is more numerous than I have the energy for. Sorotec is not my first rodeo so I know a well built inverter.

Battery is well made, contains a bms and a heltec balancer. Perfect for small systems. I used it for 2.5 months and decommissioned as soon as my batteries arrived from china.
