A US-based Nigerian woman, Ogechukwu Christine Kalu, has taken to Facebook to list the characteristics she requires in a man for marriage.

The educational consultant, in a post on Sunday, June 2, 2024, said the man should know how to cook, do laundry, enjoy other house chores, PDA and “perform.”

She stated that the man must love plants and know how to pronounce certain words before she can consider him.

A 47-year old man, Samami Ayomide, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing a Volkswagen Faragon bus parked on the street.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Agbado Ijaiye area of Lagos, where the bus with registration number, AAA513YD belonging to Abdulsalami Olarewaju was parked.

According to the Police, the suspect, Ayomide and others now at large had on 2nd March, 2024, conspired, stole the vehicle and escaped. When the owner, Olarewaju did not see the vehicle where he parked it, he reported to the Commissioner of the Police Special Squad, who moved into action and eventually arrested Ayomide before he was detained at the Command for interrogation over his alleged conduct.

After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence under Sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal code of Lagos State 2015.

He pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Inspector John Iberedem, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since the defendant pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Ex. Kubenije, granted him bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and addresses will be verified by the Court.

The matter was adjourned till 10th July, 2024, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.

A private security guard, Yusuf Akadogo, has died after being allegedly stabbed during a minor altercation in Lagos.

Spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, said that the security guard was attacked by an Okada rider while trying to settle a quarrel.

Hundeyin stated that the incident occurred on Thursday at the Idi-Araba area of the state.

“On that fateful day, around 9:20 p.m., the police received a distress call from a concerned community member regarding a disturbance at Igbira Road, Idi-Araba,” the PPRO said.

He also said that police operatives swiftly moved to the scene where an eyewitness provided an account of the events.

According to the witness, the security guard intervened in a minor altercation between the Okada rider and another individual.

“Unexpectedly, the motorcycle rider, whose identity is withheld, allegedly turned his aggression towards the security guard and stabbed him in the stomach with a knife

“The victim was rushed to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, for urgent medical attention but unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

“The suspect fled the scene immediately after the attack, and the area is currently under surveillance as efforts to apprehend him are ongoing,” he said.

[b]A married 57-year old cleric, Pastor Ikotidem Eyo Goldstein, of the Overcomers Squad Church, located at 10 Anita Crescent, Isolo, Lagos, has landed in trouble for secretly swearing an affidavit before the Commissioner of Oath claim[/b]ing to be single while opting for a mistress.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the Nigeria Police has commenced investigation to know why Pastor Goldstein would commit such alleged criminal offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.

Pastor Goldstein was said to have a son, who is 20 years and a second son, who is 18, both of whom are in the University in his home state, Akwa Ibom State, while his other children are in various schools in Lagos State except one of them.

In the affidavit sighted by P.M.EXPRESS dated 13th November, 2020, Pastor Goldstein affirmed that he was a Bachelor and was free to get married because he had no wife.

However, he got married to his wife, Lilian Ogechi Goldstein, on 24th October, 2003 in Mbaise, Imo State and had the church wedding on 10th January, 2004. Their children, all boys, included Devine, 20, Destiny,18, Twins namely Marvelous and Splendour, 16, Peculiar, 14 and Victory, 11.

Following the discussion of the affidavit, Pastor Goldstein filed a suit before the Isolo Customary Court seeking for the dissolution of their marriage on the ground that his wife abandoned him, stayed with strange male lovers, emotional abuse, domestic violence, no more love and lack of intimacy.

However, the embattled wife denied the allegations and told the Court that she never abandoned her matrimonial home because they were still living together in the same house.

She told the Court that their problem started when he met one Amina after they had their fifth child and other women, who he was bringing home. And when she asks him about those women, he will start beating her to the extent that she had to run to her village and her parents brought her back.

She also revealed that despite the fact that her embattled husband claimed to be a Pastor, he is into fraud because he writes letters to white men to defraud them. She told the Court that she does not want the dissolution of the marriage because she wants to be close to her children.

However, the President of the Court, Mrs. F.K. Obisakin, noted that the marriage had broken down irretrievable as there is no mutual respect for one another, where the husband will be bringing women friends to their matrimonial home with six children and there was domestic violence even in the presence of the children.

The Court consequently dissolved the marriage and asked the parties to go their separate ways and maintain peace. And any party seeking for the custody of the children should seek redress in the Family Court.

The affidavit in question may land Pastor Goldstein in prison custody if he is tried and found guilty before the Court for the alleged offence.

A man identified as Akinyode Rasaq, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for having unlawful carnal knowledge of a 14-year-old hawker in the Bode Olude area of Abeokuta.

The incident occurred at about 10 am on Sunday, May 5, 2024, when the teenage girl left the home to hawk Moi Moi.

It was gathered that the culprit allegedly approached the teenage hawker, pretending to be interested in buying Moi Moi.

According to Punch, the suspect refused to pay her (the teenage girl) after purchasing N1000 worth of the food item, insisting that he would only do so after he finished eating.

“She left home to hawk. The suspect was believed to have chased her and persuaded her to sell the steamed bean cake to him," a divisional police source told the publication

"He said she had to wait for him to finish the steamed bean cake before he would pay the money. She said she was there for many hours, but the man refused to pay her. She didn’t even realise how much time had passed while she waited there, hoping the suspect would pay the money.

“Then, at about 1 p.m. on the same day, the suspect suddenly dragged the girl to his apartment in Bode Olude and had carnal knowledge of her before freeing her.''

It was further learnt that an aged woman who also lived in the street, identified simply as Nurat, corroborated the teenage hawker’s account of the incident to the police who visited the crime scene.

The spokesperson of the State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the incident disclosed that the suspect had been arrested and detained.

“The minor was hawking when the suspect approached her, pretending to buy what she was selling, unknown to the girl that he had a clandestine and evil plan. He forcefully dragged her into his room and defiled the teenage girl. Our men at the Bode Olude Police Division visited the crime scene,” she stated.

“A medical test was conducted on the teenage girl, and the result showed that there was forceful penetration. The case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department.”.

A medical doctor has revealed the extent a man went to get his (doctor's) cousin who rejected his advances.

He explained that the man went as far as getting married to the woman traditionally just so he could sleep with her.

Nkeruewen Etuk, who beat his lover to death, said that he killed her because she nearly set their apartment on fire by burning the rice she was cooking.

The 54-year-old said that his girlfriend, Esther Ndereke, could not correctly prepare rice, which angered him and caused him to hit her.

While being paraded before reporters, Etuk said he never intended to harm Ms. Ndereke.

“I became increasingly outraged by her failure to cook rice properly, which became a major point of contention between us. She almost burnt down the house while cooking.

She didn’t add enough water before turning on the gas and she almost burnt down the house.

“When I asked her why she behaved that way, that was when we started arguing then I beat her up. I never intended to kill her. I have never had any serious issues with her for the past two years that we have been dating.

“Unfortunately, our altercation escalated, resulting in her tragic demise after she slumped during the fight. It was never my plan to kill her. I was only angry because she was careless and almost burnt down someone’s house” he said.

Remember that Etuk was detained by the Cross River Police Command after he was accused of killing his girlfriend in the Calabar South Local Government Area of the state.

On Wednesday, the command’s spokeswoman, SP Irene Ugbo, confirmed the arrest in Calabar.

She claimed that on Tuesday at Abasi Obori Street, a minor argument resulted in the suspect attacking the victim, who was only given the name Ndereke.

Ugbo claimed that after receiving a distress call about the event, the Uwanse Divisional Police Headquarters men made the arrest as soon as they arrived at the spot.

“The police rushed the victim to University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH).

Unfortunately, she didn’t make it, as she was certified dead on arrival by the doctor on duty

“Following established protocols, her remains were deposited in the morgue for autopsy, to shed more light on the exact cause of her death.

'I have a condition where I'm permanently aroused - it has ruined my life'

A student has shared the reality of living with an excruciating condition that leaves her permanently aroused - and has ruined her life. Student Scarlet Kaitlin Wallen, 21, has persistent genital arousal disorder (PGAD) - a condition that causes uncontrollable arousal.
Her symptoms started at the age of six - when she began to feel severe and constant “pins-and-needles” in her genitals. In 15 years, she’s only had a handful of pain-free days - and she’s unable to work or study full-time.

But with treatments and surgeries being developed all the time Scarlet remains hopeful she’ll be able to have “a life without PGAD” one day. She has even had some of her genital nerves removed in a bid to numb the pain.
Scarlet, a part-time courier and art student from Barrington, Rhode Island, said: “I’d been experiencing pain for as long as I remember. My vulva was constantly burning - it was like I was naturally aroused but I didn’t want it.

“There’s nerve pain, it's not wanted - and there's no pleasure. I’m hopeful I’ll be able to have a painless sexual relationship in my lifetime.” Scarlet says her PGAD started when she was six years old - and it would stop her from playing out with her friends.

She described the pain as “burning bugs under my skin” - and like her genitals were on fire. “In my brain it was like, I didn’t want to feel this,” she added. “I wanted to be playing outside.”
When puberty hit at the age of 13, she started experiencing random days without pain. But the burning and unwanted arousal would come back with a vengeance after a couple of days - and Scarlet would deliberately use vapour rub on her genitals to distract from the unwanted arousal.

Chemicals in the rub would give her severe thrush - but she found the “rawness and burning” more tolerable than the pain from PGAD. She said: “The PGAD on its own was unbearable - and such an odd sensation.
“I started trying to help it with vapour rub and found that at least if it wasn’t treating me, the pain I’d get from it was distracting. I wanted my genitals to burn from that, rather than the PGAD.”

Scarlet’s PGAD, alongside other conditions like OCD, meant she became reclusive as a teen. She struggled to make friends due to her anxiety - and couldn’t stay around people for long periods of time in case she had a PGAD flare-up.

Just before graduating from high school, in 2020, Scarlet saw a doctor for the first time so she could attend college without worrying about her condition. “By 18, I was quite certain my body was attacking me,” she added. “So I wrote a letter to my parents.

“I didn’t want to tell them face-to-face - but it was getting so bad I couldn’t hide it from them anymore. I wrote that I had this non-stop nerve pain that wasn’t even pain, it was worse.

“I told them it was something I had no control over.” With the help of her dad, 54, an investment banker, Scarlet was referred to the San Diego Sexual Medicine Clinic in California.
Her clinician was certain Scarlet was experiencing PGAD alongside her other sexual dysfunctions, like post-SSRI sexual dysfunction - numbness in the genitals caused by antidepressants.

He also found she was suffering from another condition - congenital neuroproliferative vestibulodynia - which means the pelvic nerves are hypersensitive to touch, and Scarlet has been suffering from this since birth.

It's believed this caused the PGAD. In a bid to find out the cause and correct treatment, he examined Scarlet for the first time. But he found she had lots of complications - including a duplicate vagina.

It is unconnected to her PGAD. She said: “My clinician, Dr. Irwin, told me he wanted to do a vestibulectomy - a surgery to remove painful tissue from the vagina. But during the examination, they found I had a duplicate.
