It was Russia that declared war against Ukraine thinking it was going to be a 4 month short war.
Two, zelensky on finding itself in a war with Russia declared martial law.the decree that he imposed on himself was absolutely uncalled for but the martial law was legal(since it is a wartime situation).
On wether Russia can sustainably continue this war.hmmm(it already lost Finland and Sweden to NATO.it has lost another round of person of both itself and its allies and only God knows what terms it will find itself in the case of post Russo Ukraine war.
Can Russia seriously continue the war..it is a totally different subject
As for zelensky and Ukraine's demand.it has to wait for whatever is the outcome of the so called meeting because it won't end there.

Yes Russia didn't expect a full blown war. There are actually two reasons why the war occured.
Ukraine was treating the people of the Donbas poorly so they wanted to break out which caused a civil conflict in Ukraine that made the Ukraine government to bombard the Donbas region. That is why Russia actually want to keep the Donbas.
The second was the NATO expansion. Since the time that NATO was created, they have expanded towards Russia and people will say it's because of threat from Russia. Russia hasn't expanded since except Crimea. On one hand there is an alliance of more than 50 countries controlled by an enemy nation encircling Russia even though there was a signed agreement for NATO not to do that.
Russia can sustain the war. The war is already over anyway. The peace talk can only favor Russia because Russia has captured the whole Donbas while Ukraine has a small part of Kursk. The troops there can't hold on much longer I mean they said it not me.

Your earlier comments didn't do any justice to prove your comments weren't hatred. War is bad however in the case of Ukraine and Russia, it was never meant to happen. Every world power has its way of exacting power on smaller neighboring nations. Ukraine should have been smart in its diplomacy. As of present, Ukraine has lost. If Ukraine said they weren't trying to join NATO, there won't have been war. Trump warned Biden but he didn't hear. Boris Johnson and co were ensuring Zelensky to use brute force well, the brute force has made Ukraine look they have been abandoned by the west and Europe.

Didn't Zelensky make a decree not to speak to Putin until they have all their lands? Why is he now wanting peace. Russia can continue because no nation will declare war on a nation that has 1500 nuclear warheads.

A nation's number one goal is to keep the country intact and that is enforced by the government. It's true that the regions are having it hard however, the Government knows that any protest can be fought using hunger and any agitation can be fought using military or police. Such tactics becomes easier with a divided nation where each citizen is blaming the other.
