It is not compulsory

But

It is Necessary
Women show more submission, so i dont consider it inappropriate for a man to do so once in a while.
Romance › Re: Have You Ever Seen A Girl In A More Complex Dilemma Than I? by Chidexter(m):
This is mind boggling.....

First guy.
Characteristics

Handsome
Intelligent
Good intimacy
Trustworthy
Decent pay
You've been dating for some time.
Has an ambition
His ambition is weighing him down from marrying you quickly
Hasnt introduced you to family?.

Second guy:

Handsome
Neat
A gentleman
Rich
Introduced you to his mum
Seems to be desperate for marriage( He sounds like that kind of guy thats underpressure from relatives to marry quickly as he isnt getting younger.
He observed you for a month and decided he'd like to marry you, though you guys have an option of courtship for three months. BUT you dont feel in love with him, but you do with the first guy.

My Friendly advice: Tell your guy(first one) to introduce you to his family atleast that would show his seriousness in you becoming his wife.
You guys can start preparing now, by going for tests, counselling and what have you.
Dont compare yourself with others who married at age 27, everyone has his/her own destiny.

The worst you'd do in life is comparing yourself with others rather you learn from them. ....
You're still quite far from menopause so pls dont let that weigh you down.

Gracias.
Gaming › Five Genuine Ways To Earn Money From Video Games by Chidexter(op): 5:53pm On Dec 02, 2015
Ever heard of OlajideBT(Ksi) a Nigerian who resides in the UK and earns money from playing/commenting on games online via youtube, he earns millions of dollars annually and has millions of subscribers on his youtube channel.

The methods am about to give you might not make you as rich as he is, or as popular, but it would definitely be important and very much profitable.

Africa in general dont have a massive gaming population like those in the western world, but we definitely make up for that with our passion and dedication.

Here are Five ways you can earn money from Video gaming.
Note: You have 5% chance of making it if you have no passion for video games.

1. Being a Technician :- In the world of gaming, there are basically 3 types of gamers.
The Console/Handheld Gamers
The Smartphone Gamers
The Computer Gamers

Now being very knowledgeable on a couple of them would increase your chances of earning thousands weekly.

Console Gamers ( Xbox, Ps, Gamecube, Nintendo, psp, psvita) would patronise you to fix problems ranging from faulty pad, Modding/Jail breaking and other console malfunctions.

Though the console gaming market isnt particularly large they sure make up for that with sheer dedication.......

2. Becoming a Game Marketer :- This involves selling Gaming Accesories like controller, consoles, physical discs and so much more.
You can purchase consoles on the internet especially on foreign sites like Bestbuy, Craiglist which is generally cheaper then selling them here in Nigeria.

You could also patronise sites like sosogames here in nigeria.
Even your used game cds can be sold if you so wish.

3. Managing a Game Shop :- One of the most profitable methods of earning money through video games, you get to organise a place where people can come and play games for a token and you too can play as much as you want. So its a win-win situation, You play that which you love with a passion and also earn from it.

A standard game shop could comprise of a TV set( the bigger the tv, the greater the experience) a ps3 or xbox 360 , as well as a Generator.
If you can afford them in twos the better.
It could cost as much as 100k-250k to set up.
A Tv set - 10- 25k (or more if you have huge purchasing power)
Playstation 3 - about 30-45k with two pads(fairly used) OR
Xbox 360- 30-40k with two pads (Fairly used)
Playstation 2 - New ones goes for 12k, and fairly used could be anywhere from 6k-10k.
A Generator - 35k for big one(preferably), (12k or so for a small one)

The most important thing to note while setting this up is its nearness to consumers, if its located in a market where people mostly the youths access then the better.

You can charge 30-40naira for a 5min football game play for a single person, or 60naira for two people playing against themselves.

NOT INCLUDING MONEY FOR SHOP RENT.

If 100 people patronise you in a day, you get about 3000 naira. Deducting expenses say 1000naira, you'll be left with 2000.
Supposing you get a steady 100 customers everyday for 30days(including sundays)

Thats 3000naira x 30 days = 90,000.
Expenses 1000naira x 30days = 30,000
deduct it from your total earnings =60,000naira made in a single month.

Of course, all these are just estimations, it could be more or less, the fact still remains that you'll make a lot of profit especially in the long run

While doing this you can include a barber's salon if the shop is spacious or a phone charge center.

4. Online Game Play/Commentary :- This is the least feasible because of the time, money, dedication and many more that would be spent on this sort of goal, the internet brohaha of the nation also makes it harder, but it is much more profitable than any other venture on this list.....

How does it work?
First of all, you play a game, record it, comment on it and upload the whole thing to youtube.
You go ahead to enable the monetization of your video and start earning money through youtube - google adsense ads that is displayed on your video.
Each time someone clicks it, you get paid a certain amount of money.

Its like blogging but ignoring the whole setting up a website part.
A 1000 views on your video for instance can get you about 5dollars. Its little but with each increase of views the higher the money earned at 10,000 views, your video can earn another 1,000 views free. And so on until it goes viral.

Before doing something like this you need to be unique, funny(depending on the type of videos you want to be posting), have a good sense of humor, your voice needs to be appealing or/and funny. Endurance, Dedication and Consistency.

In General, Have a Good command of the English Language and Good speaking skills.

To appeal or reach the african webosphere, its better you include notable slangs, and speeches to add to that african feel, in doing this you'll break into the african world and gain more popularity.

Things needed:-
A computer.
A steady internet connection.
And o'course a game console.
Infact to elaborate more on this would require its own special thread.

Just take a peak at Pewdiepie(youtube channel) or Ksi to get a hint of what i mean

5. Other Methods of earning cash are:- Game Testing : where you're paid to simply play games and give your feedback on how good it is.(common in europe and asia),
Selling Virtual coins for an amount of money e.g fifa coins

For those who have other methods, please kindly post them to further enlighten those who're interested.

Romance › 10 More Types Of People On Nairaland by Chidexter(op):
Based on a couple of years i've been on this site(on a different account). i've seen the good, the bad , the funny.

Well, here's a list of Ten (more)types of characters some people in here have exhibited, that sort of make random others laugh, cry, insult, shout at them.

1. The Reporters :-

These set of individuals usually regard Nairaland as a kind of platform where they can say, expose everything and anything they experience/witness.

They might be going home and suddenly it begins to rain, and wam!, they've created a thread on it within milliseconds, they might kill a rat today and a whole thread will be created about it, with graphic and well detailed pictures.

2. The Relationship Experts: These ones are responsible for the bulk of how to know a cheating blah blah, what to do when in a date, kind of threads.

They turn to Experts on relationship, and dating tips. They provide answers to people in one emotional confusion or the other. Meanwhile, in reality they arent even in a relationship at all.

3. The Political Expert and Critics :

Are you interested in knowing
Who will win the next coming elections?
How much the naira will be in comparison with the dollar?
Do you wish to know, Nigeria's GDP, or what President Buhari was up to yesterday?, look no further. Just visit the politics section and you will see lots of answers from our virtual politicians.

The likes of Barcanista, CramJones and their depth in the political field could leave many ticking political science as their future field of study

There are also those who have Zero knowledge on the politics scene, you mostly see them blaming past and present leaders for any misfortune whatsoever.

The other day a thread was created about Nigerians caught on a duping scam in another country, one blamed Buhari, and we're left to wonder how a scam in another country relates to Buhari.

4. The Derailers :

Ever seen an interesting topic on tips to a strong health, or a thread on how to prepare a favourite meal.
No matter the thread, if you have the patience to scroll down, you will/must see someone saying something else.

When the topic being discussed about is Nigeria education system, thats when you'll see someone begging you to click a link and vote him/her for model competition. Like seriously, what's my business in your modelling life in relation to the topic created?

5. The tribalistic ones/Name Checkers :

I Guess i dont need to elaborate much on this.
The sole purpose why they view threads is to know what tribe is involved, they always speak ill of other tribes, and regard theirs as the best.

If the tribe they hate performs something good, they regard it as victory for Nigeria but once its something bad, they distance themselves from such a tribe.

6. The advertisers

Only on Nairaland have i seen an advert where someone sells an Iphone 6 for 20k,
A 35,000 mAh powerbank for 9k with free usb cable or a phone sold 20k in the market for 28k.

Some have gone on to spam threads with their fake products, while without doubt some are genuine and down to earth it still doesnt hide the fact that many are scammers in disguise.

7. The Desperate Bloggers

Great Headline, Great initial write up but one problem you've got to click that link.
I present to you Bloggers, the description above is their modus operandi, they create catchy topics, but once you click it you'll be asked to click a link to view the rest.

Funny enough, Nairalanders have formed a great reply to such requests like, La Click La Bend cheesy , La Click La Die, La Click Le Blind immediately. LOL grin

8. The Impersonators/Fake Accounts : An Individual who's a male, but ends up creating a female account complete with feminine pics. You tend to notice something's strange about that account with the way the person posts or comments on 'sensitive' issues.

Some even expose themselves when sharing experiences by referring to themselves as a 'He' instead of a 'She'

9. The Depressed Ones
That dude who's contemplating suicide cos he's writing Jamb for the 5th time, or the other who's very depressed because his dad treats him like an outcast. Sadly, there are so many depressed people on Nairaland, its left for you and i to help them adjust and feel Loved. Ease their tensions, give them friendly advice and many more.

I'm now officially recommending the Joke section to those of you feeling stressed up or at the point of depression.

10. The End time Ones
Haha, just by mere thinking about this still make me chuckle.
To these set of people, every Topic, thread, whether informative or not, is automatically an End time topic.

You give someone an advice, it automatically becomes an end time advice, you post pictures of celebrities, they call it end time pics, You post a genuine story and they'll call it end time write up.

They end up flooding threads with their End time gibberish.

You can add yours
