Sorry for your loss bro. There's nothing you've said here that is news to me. I have mourned two of my friends on this same thread...in fact it was much more traumatic for me because I found about their demise on nairaland!

However when you look at it again (not forgetting the ills in our Army), we know who our enemies is! All our friends and families didn't die in good old age. Our enemies killed them. I don't know about you but I'd keep celebrating our gains over our enemies. That's paramount. Shouldn't it?

Why should I be happy with army failures when a lot of my brothers, sisters aunts and uncles are in the system fighting day and night?. Remember the story of a top officer who was shot by other rank soldiers when he came to address them at the war front?. This happened around 2013 if my memory is on cue.

I was at Army headquarters Abuja during that period, I saw my uncle who was the RSM there in tensed mood, who'd tell me to have a seat at his office and then we'd discuss and as at then such an act was quite unexpected. That's why when I see news of certain soldiers going beserk, I'm not surprised... As an officer of you try to change the status quo then be sure not to trigger the wrath of a few corrupt officers...

So my brother, critics are a necessity, it would make those at the upper echelons to be on their toes. The army dey try but u see so many bad individuals still dey there and na them dey stall this campaign.
