the difference between i7 and i5 processor is hyperthreading which is needed in pc applications like image and video editors,so an i5 is very okay for gaming.
In addition,the processor only contributes to gaming FPS by 30%...not much....Most of the gaming computing is being done by the GPU....as as regards gaming...The GPU is the most essential component.

intel i5 + nvidia gtx 770 is way better than intel i7+ nvidia gtx 660

Also do not let the video memory fool you. video memory is essential when choosing resolutions.

1GB-2GB is well enough for 1080p resolution gaming
2-4Gb is well enough for 2k-4k resolution gaming

but the memory doesn't give better gaming speed! the cores and clocks of the GPU does.

i used to own a radeon hd 4250 4gb in my old laptop....a useless GPU.
but now i use nvidia gt 635m 2gb is 80% better than the above hd 4250 4gb vga

seen your thread before and i'll say, it was one of the main motivations that factored my move from console to the pc gaming sphere.

I don't live in lagos so using a third party buyer who resides in lagos is gonna increase by budget by about 16%.
main reason i'm giving amazon a 24 hour duration to fix my account is GTB has already forwarded my billing statement to amazon via FAX.it could be resolved within the next 24 hours.ordering the parts from another website could lead to double orders

well my account was put on hold today on amazon as regards credit card issues so i'll be buying the parts from microcenter which gives bundles and disounts.

If amazon doesn't verify my account in the next 24 hours i will be forced to purchase parts from microcenter which is $250 cheaper.

Entire pc build from amazon is $1130 though but it should satisfy my thirst for the next few years.

About to build a PC gaming rig

I sold my ps3 and opted for PC gaming cause

1. PC gaming graphics with a beastly graphics card does outshine even the ps4 by miles away

2. Heard ps4 doesn't support DLNA , so WTF ? I just don't have a gaming thirst !!! I want media satisfaction too

3. Price of console games. During my ps3 era, I did buy the games ranging from 8-12k ....let's say in a year,buying up to 10 CDs is nothing less than 100k !!!! Games which I could easily have downloaded for free on PC.


I don't know if the ps4 will be hacked for free games but with PC I can definitely get all cracked games for free.


Already ordered the PC parts from amazon and below are the specs

120 ssd

With these specs I'll be taking on next gen game titles with ultra graphic settings @1080p 60+ FPS
