How long does it take for Abuja Embassy to print approved visa?
Someone shared with me that she hasn’t received her passport since her approval June 6th. |

CNNalhaji: Dear Reader. This is a wicked and cruel advice and no one should take it serious. @Elo2020 some genuine posters have given you the best answers You can look out for other avenues . America is the mother of charities don't let anyone scare you. You have stated you can't get this money and this poster is enforcing you to do otherwise to the extent of not even accepting discount from the hospital haba ! How is the truth a cruel advice? What he posted there is the absolute truth. So how is it a wicked advice? Taking public funds to settle your hospital bills might serve you negatively in subsequent interviews |

No one talked about either renting or buying a car. The conversation was, can I drive with my FRSC drivers license in Houston, Texas? Yes he/ she can drive |

Elo2020: What do you suggest i do please? There are few things you can do. 1. Take a payment plan. It can be as low as $500 monthly. 2. Ask the Case Manager for low income financial waiver application. This way, you might get those bills waived. Hospitals are non-profits, so there are forms/ applications that low income earners can fill to have their medical bills reduced or waived. Do not use medicaid. Tell them you’re a non-immigrant and not entitled to state/ federal benefits. They might want to make the Medicaid application for your child, inform them that you cannot take it as it would jeopardize your chances of bringing your child back when you leave. If they are adamant and would not let you fill out the application, make a post here let me see if that’s the case. https://www.hcahoustonhealthcare.com/patient-resources/patient-financial-resources/financial-assistance |

JadeWilliam: Ur baby is a US citizen. Tell the hospital case manager that u will like to apply for Medicaid. Do not let the hospital con u into paying out of pocket.
NICU bill will drown u. It’s ur baby’s entitlement. U, the parent doesn’t have to be a US citizen to do that. Ur baby is a citizen. There are so many Mexican immigrants that utilize Medicaid and they are not even PR. U have to be informed to know the way.
U can also call Medicaid urself or go to their office nearest to u. Just put it on google map. Goodluck and pray for ur baby. Wishing u the best This is a terrible and wrong advice. If you do this, be aware that you’ll never get approved for visa renewal. You’ll likely not be able to bring your child back here for any vacation. Maybe after your child turns 21 he can then file for you. |

MelaninGemstone: I’m in a similar situation, my own case is even worse.
After 2 previous visa denials, the agent that helped me arrange my 3rd visa application indicated that I am married on my DS-160 form. NB: I’m not married at all, I’m a single lady
He said that’s the best way to get the visa as the consular officer will see me as a “family woman” who won’t abscond but will return to her husband and kids
The agent filled in made up names of my so called husband
I went for the interview at Us embassy VI and I got my tourist visa (I was going for a conference)
I traveled and spent 3 months in New York and came back. I met a loving and caring dude there and he said he loves me and wants to marry me and file for me.
I’m currently in Nigeria, but my US bae has been asking me to come back over to the states so we can proceed with our marriage plans etc
I have a feeling that the “married” the agent filled in my DS-160 will affect any future plans of my future US based husband to file for me.
Please what can I do How do I divorce a husband that don’t even exist not every marriage happens in a court. But beware of agent. They will ruin your life. You’re not married and you are aware of the agents antics to add in your application that you are married. Now you got your visa and stuck with a married status. Do not do a fake divorce. Do not do a fake divorce |

JaySterling: yes, I reported in my DS-160 that I am married Do the right thing, file for divorce. You can file for divorce from here and have to partner sign the divorce papers at the embassy, so it can be notarized. Do not do a fake divorce, they will find out and all your stay here would be jeopardized. |

JaySterling: Hey guys. Can I get married in the USA if I’m currently married in Nigeria?
My wife and I are separated though, due to some cheating, which I can’t talk about here
I’m currently in the states on a b2 tourist visa and I’ve found another woman who I’m deeply in love with. I proposed and she said yes. why not file for a divorce before you enter another marriage? Did you report in your ds160 that you’re married? Please, don’t ever think of doing fake divorce document, don’t ever try it because you’ll be roasting in a life denial. |

Richdiamond000: Hey Nairaland fam, I need your urgent advice on something
Okay, I used to date this beautiful white girl in the past about 5 years ago and she opened a bank account for me in her name.
Reason I couldn’t open an account was because I had some issues with my previous bank (not entirely my fault, something related to overdrawing my account when I was out of work and not paying when due) and I got flagged on ChexSystems and no bank wanted to take me again
She opened the bank account and gave me the debit card and I used it like it was my own
Unfortunately this good woman passed away in 2020 during covid. I still maintained and operated the bank account she created for me and had a ton of money saved in there
Two months ago, about the end of April, I received a large deposit in the account and the bank (CapitalOne) froze the account for suspicious activity. Nothing suspicious about the payment just that it was a direct deposit in my name but was paid into the account my girlfriend opened for me (which is in her name)
I had thousands of my own dollars saved up in that account
Please how do I claim my money now, I really don’t know what to do
The account is frozen now. Can I go to the bank and explain all these? Will they listen to me ?? First, what you’re doing is actually fraudulent and a breach of bank ethics and code of operation. 1. Why don’t you go and resolve the issue with ChexSystem? If you have been fraudulently overdrawing your account without paying back, you think it would only be written off as bad debt without any record being placed on you as a liability and not insurable? 2. You cannot access the funds and for banks to tag that account suspicious they would have placed a call to verify the transaction or close the account. I’ll advise you to take some time and fix your financial situation. It is bad that you cannot open a bank account. |

Seun: This is hard for me because I don't know who is who on this section. Hi @Seun, There are number of ways you can vet volunteers to make an informed decision. 1. A short Zoom/Teams/WebEx meeting. Here you can access volunteers interest, experience, and any qualification you deem fit for the platform. 2. You can conduct a brief phone session to see if the volunteer aligns with what you have for the travel section. 3. You can make it a formal and open application straight to an email and you can vet that way. I am willing to go through any you might deem appropriate or comfortable. |

Hi @Seun,
Hi have been part of the travel section since 2012/2023 when the likes of Imperiouxx, Yvette, BigFrancis21, GboyegaD, and Justwise. Justwise did a great job sanitizing the travel section keeping it sane as the moderator.
I am interested in moderating the travel section.
Travel information is vital and I strongly believe people need a totally healthy and safe space to seek information and Nairaland has presented such opportunities. But this safe space needs to be moderated by one who is unbiased, selfless, and have a passion for travel.
I came back here to be part of the community again making sure nairalanders have a safe space where they can share vital information for travel/immigration.
I am one who believe in treating people with dignity and respect and also making sure rules and regulations are being followed.
Aside moderating the New Hire Teams channel within my organization, I also help run the Facebook page of my Catholic parish. These are some of the volunteer work I do to give back to the society. I have stable internet access, a personal laptop, and the bandwidth to take on the moderator role.
I am available for further discussion via chat, teams/zoom or phone call.
Respectfully,
Chidi |

Why on earth are they concerned about a criminal who looted state funds? Of what importance is that to the development of Anambra state.
I don't understand where Nigeria got it wrong that we have so many bad leaders. |
