Peter Obi On Private Visit To Gov Okorocha

The immediate past governor of Anambra state, Mr Peter Obi was this morning sighted at the new Governor's Lodge, Government House Owerri after a private audience with the Chairman, Progressive Governors Forum & Imo State governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha.

When accosted by newsmen on his visit to Gov Okorocha, Mr Obi said, "Rochas is my personal friend. He is in APC I am in PDP. There is nothing political about this visit. I came to thank him for his stance on KANU as an Igbo leader" he was quited as saying. When pressed further, he pleaded to be left alone saying, "Its a private visit to a brother "

Nigerian singer Yemi Alade will kick off her ‘Mama Africa’ tour along with her band on April 7.She was spotted in Paris enjoying life with her manager, Taiye Aliyu, ahead of her first ever world tour.

The duo have gone sight seeing, disturbed the streets of Paris with their PDA, as well as have interactive sessions with French press.

She also announced that her new song, ‘Charliee’, will be released on Friday.It should be recalled that the Mama Africa tour was announced last year, following the release of her second studio album Mama Africa, which dropped on March 25, 2016.

N310m WAS NEVER STOLEN FROM SARAKI'S HOUSE, AIDE INSISTS

The attention of the Media Office of the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has been drawn to a rehash of mischievous and concocted allegations aimed at misleading the public with spurious claims that the Senate President allegedly owned the sum of N310million said to have been stolen  from a Bureau de Change operator in November 2015, by suspected operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) and some army personnel.

This Office wants to reiterate that the Senate President had nothing to do with the said stolen money by suspected security agents then and even now as being maliciously peddled by some online media to tarnish his image.

It would be recalled that when the incident was reported by the media in December 2015, a section of the online media which has become notorious for dragging the name of the Senate President into issues that he knows nothing about, the DSS issued a statement where it stated that it had arrested some of its men that partook in robbing a Bureau de Change operator in Abuja.

This Office had also in a statement, in reaction to the false report, stated that the Senate President had nothing to do with the money allegedly stolen. We still insist that he has nothing to do with the money and we challenge those still rehashing  the  stale and fake news to avail themselves of the reports of the police and the DSS on the matter to avoid misleading members of the public unnecessarily.

Let me state that the Senate President has no army personnel among his security details. Therefore, it becomes absurd for one of the suspect in the robbery to have claimed according to the report that the money was brought to the Senate President's house from where they connived to steal it.

The report remains a lie which must be disregarded by the public, and should it be recirculated tomorrow, it will still remain a lie. At best we count this unwarranted fake report as part of the April Fool ritual. But the public deserves a better deal from its sponsors and purveyors.

Besides, the content and intention of the fake is nothing but baseless allegations emanating from the infantile minds of unreasonable interlopers, hell bent on rubbing mud on the reputation of a distinguished Nigerian, who is today in his capacity as the Senate President, is working assiduously with critical stakeholders to stabilize and grow our economy. Enough is enough.

'Urgent identification.

The Benz (car) with the plate number involved in a nasty accident about two hours ago along Etim Ekpo road precisely the bending corner of St. Anthony Catholic church Nkwot Ikono, Etim Ekpo local government area.

As at the scene of the incident three died at the spot while some were rushed to the nearby hospital, the victims that died at the spot are;
1. Chief Justice ameachi lived at number 264  ph road aba.
2.  Essien Ubong Sunday Timothy from Ikot Akpan Eda Ekpad akwa in oruk anam LGA Aks.

The urgent identification and information is needed to salvage the treatment of those in the hospital.

The man badly wounded. Rather than help him, his employer abandoned him. The bank also abandoned him. They left him to die. His family has no food. The children cannot go to school. He is still in hospital badly injured. He cannot even expect to return to work because his employer fired him immediately they saw he was injured.

Well, the man has now become a registered member of DPA, and you know what that means. It means DPA will fight for him. We are giving his employers only 7 days to pay all his salaries from the day he was shot till date, all his medical bills, all benefits due to him'.

We Showed Our Goodwll, They Demonstrated Their Bad Faith - NCC.

We have always known that Sheriff and his co travelers especially, Cairo Ojuogbo, were never men of honour with whom one can reach any agreement. But we tagged along to avoid being accused of unnecessary intransigence. Since the leopard cannot change its spot, it is now very clear that no agreement or political solution can be reached with these bunch of people with huge integrity deficit.

(2).  Cairo is a nonentity, an impostor and a rabble rouser in a non existent National Working Committee (NWC). Sheriff has no men to constitute an NWC with the required constitutional quorum. He therefore has to surround himself with the likes of Cairo who was neither elected or appointed to the Position. Cairo's shameless public parade of himself as Deputy National Chairman is the worst case of impunity in the history of our great Party. His threat against our hard working staff should therefore be ignored and treated with utmost contempt coming from a lawless impostor.

(3).  For the education of Sheriff and his cohorts, our Appeal at the Supreme Court is already on. To that extent, the position and status of the National Caretaker Committee remains completely unaltered. Since they cannot comprehend even very simple matters, we will use a simple analogy. If a Governor looses at the election petitions tribunal and at the Court of Appeal, does he ceases to be a Governor even when his appeal is pending before the Supreme Court? And would the civil servants then refuse to serve him? The position of the law is that he would remain the Governor and all government employees will be expected to continue to service his government until otherwise determined by the Supreme Court.

(4).  In the light of the above, we urge our loyal Party members and staff to ignore this latest rantings of the APC lackeys. We went out of our way few days ago to reach accommodation with them even when some of our top leaders had serious misgivings about any type of talk with them given their unreliability. We are happy that we have shown our goodwill and they too have demonstrated their bad faith.

POSTSCRIPT: It should be noted that we tried strenuously to reach Gov Dickson to report this infraction and deliberate violation of the truce agreement by the Sheriff Group but we were not able to get through to him.
