I think the embassy has some backlogs to deal with. I submitted on 14th at vfs Abuja and there hasn't been any update yet.
Anyways, I'll drop my visa approval testimony very soon (2 weeks maybe)
Chai. I hope they fix it quick and start processing o.

We have called and called and called more than 30 times, they kept saying they will notify us once there is a decision. My wife's own has been issued about nearly 2 months ago and she has traveled. My anger is we have an 11 month old baby who is here without the mother for 2 months now.

At a time the last email they replied was on October 3rd 2019. The last call to the Embassy last two weeks, they said they had some changes in personnel and processes but that someone has been assigned to look into our case.

Even somewhere in September, they said my first son who is 5years plus and VFS didnt capture his biometrics should be brought to Abuja for biometrics. We brought him to Abuja, yet the VFS couldnt capture him as their system was programmed to capture 6years upwards. We had to contact the Irish consular while still there at VFS and they told us to go back to our base that they will make an exemption for my son while they will come back to reprogram VFS system.

The last person we spoke with whom I guess is a Nigerian working at the Abuja Embassy, told us to exercise a little patience as he wouldn't want the oyibo in charge of our application to feel he is being pressured which may affect the decision.

That's where we are stuck. We don't know what they are waiting for and how long they will wait for it. They didn't ask for any further documents or clarification. It's 16 weeks now
You have taken the right steps already, apologies for everything. There's just a lot of complications already. The best is to take a step back n pray. Youve done all they asked you to do. No shaking Bro.

I agree with you. Our Join family application has been at the Abuja Embassy of Ireland since July 25th, 2019 till this moment. They kept saying application is still undergoing some checks. This week will make it 16 weeks for us

You will need a good warm jacket
Not like Nigeria jacket
You will need both sweater and jacket together you can get it at parmark for as low is €30 if they are on sales
Your house will always be warm during cold time unless you don’t pay electricity bills grin
Lol, thank you very much Sir, I really appreciate your time sir, I understand that time is gold that's why lots of people on this platform are not even here, thanks to everyone that have contributed to straighten the Crooked roads. As more questions come, I'll drop them

My visa outcome will be out soon. I'll hope to drop the testimony very soon.

You'll buy clothes that can keep you warm here and the houses have heaters or fireplace. It's cold here but you'll survive.
Thanks sir,

Average wait time for study visa is 8 weeks,I waited 13 weeks for mine. Check the Irish embassy site for the average wait time for a tourist visa. I'd suggest you wait for the decision though. From my experience, if they wanted to deny you they would have..... you've waited this long already, stay positive.
Chineke! Why did yours take 13 weeks, that's super long o and far cry from the 5-8wks. This study visa is real scary ooo. I hear sometimes, they release it very early but they forgot to send it to the applicant. Abeg explain oo.

Concerning the weather, it's cold all year round. The sun is lazy, rises late and sets early. I'm not sure you'll get a jacket thick enough for the cold in Nigeria, I'll advice you buy here, a good jacket costs between €50-€70 ( if you don't care about designer). In my opinion, food is relatively cheap, at least the normal stuffs like rice, potatoes and stew stuffs, you'll get good prices at Lidl and Tesco (yam is a no go area, I would not advice you bring from nigeria due to the weight though)Chicken is the cheapest protein and in abundance. Pack lots of indomie when coming, it's expensive here. If you don't know how to cook, go and start learning. Eating out is a bad idea for saving, especially in Dublin. And yes DBS is a good school. I like the fact that they understand students need free time to work and have structured classes to allow for that. All the best in your application, we hope to hear good news from you soon. Cheers.
Boss thank you very much for the reply, I'll screenshot this. Really helps, alot. Really happy that what I love is affordable.

I want to thank you for all your posts, comments and Encouragement, I used an Agent for my application and I got great service, was on this Canada craze and the Agent pointed my attention to Ireland. I submitted 10th of October. First application tho. First time I'll be commenting on a travel section. ICASNG and others have been so helpful and all.

I applied to study in Dublin Business school, would have preferred a less busy city due to my personality and the cheaper option, but it's already in motion.

Been watching lots of YouTube and I can't place my finger on the weather in Ireland, some say it's always raining, barely snows, little sun.... So I don't know how to gear up when it's time to pack.
Unlike Canada, UK and Germany threads, you'll know that January snow is not a laughing matter. I also heard you can't use an umbrella cos of the wind. So I thought of waterproof shoes and jacket.
We need more survival tips here. Seriously we do.
What food do I bring? I already decided on bringing just indomie. I love my potatoes lol, fresh stuff, not a fan of dried fish and the rest. Not keen on yam, I also Love my beans.

Just so you know, I have consumed this thread from the page 1 to now that I'm typing and it has offered lots of assistance in application but very little on survival.

BOOOMNAIJA:
That 1m will completely change the lives of at least 2 poor Nigerians....whereas mike may just exhaust it under 2 days.
Very very true sadly, person wey dey UK, come get Rolls-Royce(except na fake life), come naija dey struggle with our national chin chin, not fair o, all those jobless youths with potential would have been picked o. I'm not a fan of BBN, but I can't deny the product it has produced, I've enjoyed shows hosted by former BBN folks and they did great, these were people who would have been broke and looking for a platform to shine.

PS Based on Mike self control, he performed as expected. We can praise him to encourage Randy men. The fact is His wife was watching him like CCTV. If there's divorce, she win with the evidence and sue for damages that will drain him completely, remember he has some assets in Pound sterling.
