By Levinus Nwabughiogu ABUJA – Former Vice President and chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), Atiku Abubakar has urged all the stakeholders in party to accept the outcome of the elections that brought Senator Bukola Saraki and Rep. Yakubu Dogara as Senate president and Speaker, House of Representatives respectively and move on as one family. The former Vice President also stated that the current face-off between mostly the leaders of APC was not in the interest of the party or President Mohammadu Buhari, saying it would rather slow down the pace of developments in the polity. Atiku in a statement by his media office, signed by Mazi Paul Ibe said that it was dangerous for any individual or group in the ranks of the ruling party to constitute themselves into an opposition even before the constitution and take off President Muhammadu Buhari’s government. He noted that there are no fixed outcomes in politics, saying that the game was always dynamic as it were. “While acknowledging that it is legitimate and desirable for individuals or groups to seek to pursue their interest, it must be done with the benefit of sustaining our democracy and promoting equity, fair play and justice in mind. “Anything to the contrary may jeopardise our hard- earned democracy and constitute a clog in the wheel of the new administration “In politics, it is a mistake to expect fixed outcomes. As the President has done, let’s all come to terms with what has happened in the interest of the system and move on. Suffice it to say that the new administration should be allowed a smooth take off and be allowed the atmosphere to deliver. On this, I stand with President Buhari,” Atiku said. The former Vice President denied hijacking the party, cautioning that he should not be dragged against president Buhari. Recalling his role in the emergence of Dr. Adesina as the President of the African Development Bank on behalf of President Buhari, Atiku said he held the president in high esteem and would assist him to succeed. “Not only did Atiku Abubakar congratulate Buhari after his emergence as the presidential candidate of the APC at the party’s national convention in Lagos, he also handed over his best assets to the Buhari Presidential Campaign. “The former Vice President enthusiastically handled the diplomatic assignment of seeking endorsement for Dr. Adesina as the President of the African Development Bank on behalf of President Buhari and would be available for any other assignments as the President pleases. “Make no mistake about it, Atiku Abubakar holds Buhari in the highest esteem, and would always remain loyal to him, and support him in every endeavour to succeed as president”, he said. The APC chieftain also called on Nigerians with members of the President’s own party taking a lead in their undiluted support of his administration. “We, the members of the President’s own family need to lead in this direction for others to follow for the good of our nation and its peoples.” Atiku Abubakar denounced the increasing determination of some people to draw a wedge between President Buhari and himself. “It has become crystal clear even to the blind that the motives of these hatchet men who are desperate to take every available newspaper space is to insult, vilify and calumniate the former Vice President. “We cannot allow liars, denigrators and blackmailers and their sponsors to use Atiku as platform to ingratiate themselves with President Buhari and hijack his presidency under the pretext of loving him more than anyone else. These political ventriloquists are hiding behind the cover of anonymity to achieve their sinister agenda of making Atiku the fall guy in the unfolding political developments”, he stressed. |

bigass:ma‘am i am writing with inside information. Not what i read from paper. |
plendil:Fidelity bank was hard on both clients & staff in the month of April. They did it to “propel“ people into registrering. I registered in Diamond back in October last year but I got my number in May this year. Some banks are more zealous than others |
benedictnsi:u r welcome Sir! |
bigass:ma‘am without BVN registration from July 1st unless otherwise you can do any form of 3rd party transaction... |
Chibok girls‘ secondary school principal have been apointed a commisioner in Bornu State. |
redsquare:BVN registration will never end. It will be a continous affair however, if dont have it by 1st JULY, you might not be able to use ur ATM, issue check (cheque) etc. But if you eventually register your ATM will be reactivated and your check honoured. |
benedictnsi:BVN registration will never end but third party transaction will stop by end of this JUNE. Third party transaction is like check (cheque), ATM but you can withdraw from the counter. Also some other bank privilages will be withheld depending on bank anyway. |
mascot87:i pity people from ur village |
deluxecad:when people write you will know why their village looks like a plaaace in 14 century. Dear i am from Anambra state and we believe that a wealthy man in city without anything to show for it in the vila is a poor man everywhere... |
Clerverly:for your mind the tribunal will talk say Dakuku win the election, abi? Lolzzzz... The worst that would happen will be cancelation of the whole process & re-conduct the election & in Wike‘s voice: “if this election is held 10times i will still win it.“ |
lolababe331e:i wish you can also tell our traveling president the same thing too. |
MzJackBaueress:in Wike‘s voice “if this election is conducted 10times, I will still come out ‘THE‘ winner.“ Una NEVER start crying... |
ShineuEye:humn... Is Saraki a yoruba person? Even if he is a yoruba he is from north west & not south west. They are seeking OBJ‘s support so that he will not blackmail them for romancing Atiku his number one enemy. OBJ is a princepality in African politics as it stands now... |
Hysmady:and we can see how Fashola built lots drainages which he used to control flood in Lagos. In my state the erosion site that the former governor controled this present governor is overlooking it & soon Enugu - Onitsha expressway will soon be cut off at Nkpor new parts flyover. And still everybody here is shouting Willie is working. Fashola just like willie did work that will be shown on TV and not really things that will bring happiness to the common man. God help us. |
firstEVA:Buhari should take the glory... even the constant light too... are you satisfied now...? It should be called The Buhari Magic... using 4 weeks to repair the refineries that other past presidents could not repair in 20years... Ndi ara... |
I am waiting for those that hate Mr Peter Obi to come here and fire him... Obi is actually a role model... Soludo said obi didnt carry out any capital project... We Ndi Anambra are laughing at Soludo because we have the best road network in Nigeria... Trust me if i tell you that. |
boman2014:I dont know oh... how will I know that? |
angieberry:I dont know oh... Just saw the picture |
Please what do you make out of this?
|
Sant1m:sir the party needs him more than he needs them at this point in time. How many of his friends from governors‘ forum are now in senate? Sir Saraki can never be ‘lonely‘ because he is in the midst of his long time political friends & allies. Saraki is of nPDP which sees themselves as power brokers. (let me stop here). Think about this: How many people from APC supported him as senate president? APC cant impeech him. If APC fights him he will play the Tambuwal game of dancing the music of the opposition. Their is no different between his case and that of Dogara except that dogara‘s deputy is of APC while he‘s is from PDP. Soon Saraki‘s agents will come up to tell us to disrgared this piece of pooh. Saraki is working with Atiku and they can never beg because they have the upper hand. Let us even think a little outside the box. If Saraki actually begged OBJ to plead on his behalf; it means he will concede the major offices of the Senate to Tinubu group, which you and i know that will never happen. APC will never be the same again because Saraki will play the “CHIEF“ and others will only do what he wishes because his support is coming somewhere beyond APC. |
