Public Relations Officer of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Joseph Attah, says in a matter of days, the service will officially deploy electronic auction platform for Nigerians. Attah announced this on Sunday in Abuja. He said that interested Nigerians who want to benefit from the auction should approach the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) to acquire the Tax Identification Number (TIN). “I told you earlier that the electronic auction platform is ready and undergoing a User Acceptability Test (UAT). “In a matter of days, it is going to be officially deployed for Nigerians. “Those who want to be part of this system should approach the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) to acquire the tax Identification Number (TIN). That is what it takes, they should get that ready,”Attah said. On bonded terminal license, Attah said that NCS was ready to license operators who secured a N50 million bank bond to operate a vehicle terminal. He said that the Service was ready to begin issuance of licence, adding that there were already positive responses from the public. “A lot of people have indicated interest and the process is ongoing. “NCS is ready for the issuance of licenses to people who are interested. “What it takes is for interested persons to acquire a big land, fence it and have Customs section within; a workstation with connectivity and computer system that can easily connect to the Customs server. “Such person will also be required to enter into a bank bond of N50 million. “He or she will now apply through the Customs Area Comptroller of the command that he wants to site the terminal to the Comptroller General,” he said. Comptroller General of Customs, Hameed Ali, rolled out the policy after banning the importation of vehicles through the land borders in January. On the recent removal of HND dichotomy in Customs, Attah said that the reaction had been positive and morale lifting across the commands. Attah said that with the singular decision, officers and men are saying that the Ali had written his name in gold because he restored dignity, integrity and pride of the affected officers. “In my own view, reducing the rank of an HND holder because he does not have a B.Sc was not a perfect decision. “The CGC, in keeping with his reform agenda, has done what needed to have been done many years back. “He has restored laughter and happiness and by the grace of God, we are expecting higher productivity,” Attah said. The Central Bank of Nigeria released a circular BPS/DIR/GEN/CIR/04/004 suspending its most recent withdrawal and deposit processing fee policy that came into effect 1st April 2017 in Lagos, Ogun, Kano, Abia, Anambra, Rivers, and FCT. It requires that the banks revert back to the old charges of 3% processing fee for withdrawals and no processing charges for lodgements. In two previous circulars, BPS/DIR/GEN/CIR/04/001 issued on 21st February 2017, and BPS/DIR/GEN/CIR/04/002 issued on 16th March 2017 the CBN had re-introduced the charges for cash deposits. Charges for cash deposit by individuals were as follows: Less than N500,000, zero charge; from N500,000 to N1 million, 1.5 per cent; from N1 million to N5 million, two percent charge; above N5 million, 3 per cent charge. Charges for cash withdrawal by individuals were as follows: Less than N500,000, zero charge; From N500,000 to N1 million, two percent; from N1 million to N5 million, 3 percent charge; above N5 million, 7.5 per cent charge. The policy took effect on 1st April 2017 in Lagos, Ogun, Kano, Abia, Anambra, Rivers, and FCT. Subsequently, it was to be implemented in other states in the Federation over three phases. The first was to be, May 1, 2017, in the following states: Bauchi, Bayelsa, Delta, Enugu, Gombe, Imo, Kaduna, Ondo, Osun, and Plateau. The second, August 1, 2017, in the following states: Edo, Katsina, Jigawa, Niger, Oyo, Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Ebonyi, Taraba, and Nasarawa. And the third, October 1, 2017, in the following states: Borno, Benue, Ekiti, Cross River, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Yobe, Sokoto, and Zamfara. The CBN circular released suspends the implementation of the policy in Lagos, but it remains unclear if this means that it will not be implemented across the other states. The banks are to revert back to the policy that was in effect prior to 1st April 2017. That policy requires a 3% processing fee for withdrawals above the N500, 000 limit for individuals, and no processing fee lodgements. DMerciful:Mind letting me have an idea of how affordable it is here? |
efuro:Here is the picture of the CC working. Couldn't get the load A, because my inverter is connected directly to the battery. Though I watched some video on youtube which stat that the CC is just a rip-off, because it doesn't have an Inductor, and would waste energy. Any Idea the effect it might have on the battery? If it isn't good, I will be ok if you could suggest a CC.

Got Charge Controller MPPT30A for a single 200AH battery, however I saw Battery Capacity configuration which says >= 300AH(Meaning greater or equal to 300AH) My question is; Can I still use this charge controller on a single 200AH battery without issue? |

Nigerian female musician Cynthia Morgan has been spotted calling Nigeria a "bush" in one of her interviews with Raggae Jamz Music Africa. Bitcoin plunged after one of the largest exchanges halted trading because hackers stole about $65 million of the digital currency. This isn't the first time its happening, MTGox got hacked sometimes 2 years back and affected the bitcoin price. The recent hack made Bitcoin slumped 5.5 percent against the dollar as of 2:30pm on Wednesday in Tokyo, bringing its two-day drop to 13 percent. Prices also sank 6.2 percent on Monday, although it was not clear if that initial move was related to the hack. Hong Kong-based exchange Bitfinex said Tuesday it halted trading, withdrawals and deposits after discovering the security breach. The exchange said it was still investigating details and cooperating with law enforcement, but acknowledged some bitcoins were stolen from its users. “Yes -- it is a large breach,” Fred Ehrsam, co-founder of Coinbase, a cryptocurrency wallet and trading platform, wrote in an e-mail. “Bitfinex is a large exchange, so it is a significant short term event, although Bitcoin has shown its resiliency to these sorts of events in the past.” Bitfinex confirmed in a message to Bloomberg News on Wednesday that the hackers took 119,756 bitcoin, or about $65 million at current prices. While trading was halted in all digital currencies, including ethereum, the exchange said losses were limited only to bitcoin. It also said U.S. dollar deposits were not impacted. Bitfinex Investigating “We will look at various options to address customer losses later in the investigation,” Bitfinex wrote in a blog post. “We ask for the community’s patience as we unravel the causes and consequences of this breach.” The Hong Kong exchange was the largest for U.S. dollar-denominated transactions over the past month, according to bitcoincharts.com. Chinese exchange OKCoin was the largest overall bourse for trading in the digital currency, over 90 percent of which is denominated in the Chinese yuan. More than $1.5 billion has been wiped from bitcoin’s market capitalization this week, according to research from CoinDesk. Mt. Gox Incident The price drop was reminiscent of the market reaction after Tokyo-based Mt. Gox -- then the largest bitcoin exchange in the world -- disclosed it was hacked in February 2014 and filed for bankruptcy weeks later. Bitcoin prices plunged 30 percent that month. Bitfinex last year announced a partnership with Palo Alto-based BitGo, which uses multiple-signature security to store user deposits online, allowing for faster confirmation and withdrawals. Exchanges including OKCoin tend to store the majority of deposits offline, while keeping a small percentage online and available for immediate withdrawal. “Since we now enforce multi-institutional second factor authentication (Bitfinex will be the first factor and BitGo the second factor), attackers are required to compromise both institutions before getting funds,” Bitfinex wrote on its support page after the partnership was announced. BitGo said it is investigating the matter also and hasn’t discovered breaches on its side. “To date, BitGo’s investigation has found no evidence of any compromise of its servers or services,” company spokesman Joe Volat said in an email to Bloomberg. “We believe that multi-sig security technology on which BitGo’s systems are based was not affected.” The company also supplies security to other bitcoin exchanges. “Bitfinex is in lockdown/investigation mode, so we’re not going to know anything for sure for a few days,” Peter Todd, an active bitcoin code contributor based in Toronto, wrote in an e-mail. A self-driving car was spotted in Lagos today and seem to get quite some buzz, reason been that its the first of such in Nigeria. We were able to get a video of the car in action, which can be viewed below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7szBZUd0zE Though we couldn't ascertain if it was remotely controlled or actually driving all by itself. Reactions A Nigerian named "Ize Ifeanyi Adebayo" took to his Twitter and Instagram accounts to share his emotions after seeing the first self-driving car. Autonomous vehicles detect surroundings using radar, lidar, GPS, odometer, and computer vision. Advanced control systems interpret-sensory information to identify appropriate navigation paths, as well as obstacles and relevant signage. Autonomous cars have control systems that are capable of analyzing sensory data to distinguish between different cars on the road, which is very useful in planning a path to the desired destination What is Techplus2016? Believe it or not, it’s real and about to start shipping. The Freedom 251 is now set to start shipping on July 6 to those who pre-ordered the device. Built by India’s Ringing Bell, the phone sports some very ho-hum specs when compared to other devices — but it’s four dollars. Specifications : Display : 4-inch WVGA IPS display Back Camera :3.2 megapixel auto-focus rear camera Front Camera : 0.3 megapixel front camera Processor :1.3 GHz quad-core processor RAM : 1GB Internal Storage : 8GB with External SD card support, Freedom 251 battery : 1450 mAh Operating System : Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. When it was announced, the device drew a lot of side-eye looks for its price point. So much so it caused the India Cellular Association to lobby the country’s telecom minister to figure out how Ringing Bell was accomplishing the feat. Speaking to The Indian Express, Ringing Bells’ Founder and CEO Mohit Goel says “We learned from our mistakes and decided to go silent until we come out with the product. Now we have a 4-inch, dual-SIM phone ready for delivery. I feel vindicated.” The $4 price-point is approximately RS 251, and won’t make Ringing Bell any money unless it’s wildly popular. Goel says there’s a RS 151 loss on each device, but is “happy that the dream of connecting rural and poor Indians as part of the ‘Digital India’ and ‘Make in India’ initiatives has been fulfilled with ‘Freedom 251’.” Source: http://www.appfric.com/2016/06/indias-1500-android-smartphone-freedom.html |
Olamide said it at Yaws. Some were hating. Treat everyone equally, cos anyone can be a boss at some point. Am responding to the second story though, the one of urine been poured into boss wine after altercation. |
xxxtedyxxx:Yea. Although, I've bought another sim the second day i posted that. No be me Airtel go put sand for him garri. Couldn't cope with the 2G sluggish speed. |
xxxtedyxxx:You got no chill bro. See the kin picture u add for this serious matter. I dey vex before buh with this picture I just gat laugh ![]() |
macjireh:Lol, use the un-follow link sir. |
dozmandon:No one is saying its an outright scam. But its actually a scam on the long run because their 2G isn't cool in most locations. Maybe you were lucky at your location, but as for me, I don't appreciate any browsing speed below 500kbps. Imagine you saying 400mb in a whole night, I can't wait that long for such download man. |
macjireh:You don't seem to understand. I never knew about the 2G term before I subbed and now I want out. How do you expect me to cope with 40kbps when I do browse at 1mbps? |
macjireh:It doesn't work for BB plan, and even seem to have throttled the normal data plan once active. |
kecee99:How? were you able to opt-out? |
kecee99:I don't think you understand. That code is not functional. See attached image to get familiar.
|
Untainted007:Were you able to unsubscribe? Am having a hard time to opt-out right now. My BB sub ain't working and the 2G is damn slow. |
ify2nyce:I just hope this is not true (at least for a long time) Otherwise, I will have to buy another sim and dispose it when the 2G thing expires on my main sim. |
aszunky:How did you unsub? |
religionisbad:I guess you ain't in need of fast internet. How do you expect someone who used to download at 1mb/sec to cope with 40/30kb-sec? That's what am experiencing now. |
Sugarcious:Thanks but 482 SMS is not going through. And as for 141 I did not get any reply and the useless 2G plan is still there like vandamme. |
Dear Nairalanders, Airtel has done me strong thing and their customer care are not helping matters at all. They are more or less robots. I have been trying to opt-out from their tricky one month 2G plan because ever since I subbed, I can't use my normal bb data anymore. I have dialed *482*5# it kept saying invalid ussd. I have dialed *482# and select 5, still same thing. Only their *482*1# and *482*2# sub codes are working. They want people to sub and get locked up. Please help biko. |
bogtrotter:Same here ooo my brother. Their customer are just robots. I can't opt-out nor can I use my normal plan. Please if you find a solution, kindly tag me abeg. |
