Hi guys, i was taught that driving a car (automatic) with both feet is bad, as your left foot is used only in manual cars for clutching while your right is for alternating the throttle and the brake. After driving inconsistently for abt 2yrs nw, I discovered that i use both feet to drive automatic and it's really more comfortable and easier for me than using only my right foot. Pls i need your opinion on this because i'm really troubled and people have been telling me its not good to drive with both feet. Thanks

Don't ignore the air filter. But like honmusa and mayor said, start from the exhaust. You might need replacing the cat or O2 sensor in the end.

The car was vanderlised and the ECU was stollen. the jerking was noticed after i got the new (tokunbo) ECU.

Your issue is simple.

Car was working fine before ECU was stolen.
Car is misbehaving after a new ECU was installed.

I actually went with a mechanic who confirmed the engine was good. It was silent initially only for the noise to start after like 20km.

Am on my way there now. They claim it was the oil pump that failed.

Still confused if I should accept a repair or insist on another engine.

I asked you to contact someone that will deliver the exact ECU for your car. Wonder why you are still buying "almost there" ECU's.

An ecu that will work for your car will be programmed with the VIN. But it MUST carry the exact part no.

You cannot get factory (city) mpg under the conditions experienced on Nigerian roads.

A Brand new kia Rio 1.8l does 80-100km for every 10litres. City driving.

But, idling for long consumes fuel.

I change new plugs ngk e6 , new air filter, service injectors but improvement.

Op, if this car is truly in Nigeria and not some Internet picture, then buy the whole car for parts. Of what use is the body if the engine and ecu are gutted out. Just buy the whole car for the 2.5m. I believe the original owner never knew a day would come when he would get up to 2.5m from sale of this car. Since he has condemned it cos of pneumatic shocks (which I strongly doubt), he has lost hope in the car. If u offer him even less than 2.5m, he will give u the whole car.
