Please as I wanted to go out this morning, as my morning routine check on my car, I noticed there is shortage of coolant in the reservoir. I had to refill, #(though it did not take up to half of the bottle water).#

No sign of leakage, is it suppose to be so?

The car is 2012 corolla.

If you have coolant in your system, always refill with coolant.
Except it's an emergency.

Back to your question, You can check the coolant hose connections, radiator and it's cap for leaks which will appear as the color of the coolant.


I'm assuming your Colling system meets manufacturers standards.

I've changed 2 Tokunbo this year already and that rattle noise has started again. I'll keep managing till I'm able to import or get someone do it for me.

As regards the belt, I've been connected to dealers in Lagos, they just don't come cheap.

Nothing is wrong with your present tensioner/adjuster if it's "that rattle noise".
Your current belt is stretched out.
You'll need a 2160 or 2165 belt.

I'm in Lagos, and I repeat there's no OEM 7pk 2170 belt. Even tokunbo is scarce.


I'm assuming you haven't distorted your belt/pulley arrangement.

Let me answer you.
1. Do not buy new tensioner adjuster unless it's coming from US/Japan. Tokunbo is still better.

2. There's currently no OEM 7PK 2170 belt in Nigeria. Make do with used/tokunbo belt until you can import yourself from US/Japan.

3. Compressor should cost about 50k
