PrettyRX:Yes, this is a very good point that should be noted by all. If you aren't using the gift option, your 6 months statement must be accompanied by trails of how you accumulated the money, especially in scenarios where your salary doesn't match the Balance. |
atesunate16:Then your proof of funds must have a trail of how it was accumulated. You can't just deposit a large sum few weeks to your application submission and present it as proof of funds. You will get an ADR asking you to explain the source of your money. Either you take the 6months route( with Trails) or you use the Gift Deed option. |

sharalliyah:Everything about this process lies in this thread, all you need to do is search, Read page 1 of this thread properly, 90% of it is still relevant. To your question, you don't need the balance to be in your Bank account for 6 months if you use a Gift Deed. Get a Direct Relative Father, mother, brother or sister to send the proof of funds to your account with the description of Gift. Write a Gift Deed document (Examples are on this thread or you can Google it) and visit the nearest Law chamber or Court to Notarize the document. Then make a POF PDF containing 1. An Explanation letter stating that your proof of fund was a Gift from a blood relative 2. The Notarized Gift Deed Document 3. Transfer Receipt from the sender 4. A bank Reference letter. 5. Your statement of account showing current balance. 6. A document to prove the relationship btw you and the said relative, in my case I used the National population birth certificate, that showed that I and my sister have the same parents. If you use your father or mother as the source, provide an ID of the said parent and then your Birth Certificate; the names of Ur parents are written on this certificate. This should also be stated in the Explanation letter. 7. Currency conversion rate if the money is in Naira. I used a screenshot from Oanda website. This is the best strategy to avoid getting an ADR if your proof of funds has no trail. With Gift Deed it eliminates the question about your POF needing to sit in Ur account for 6months. |
Soferkizzy007:Check your IRCC secure account messages directly. Sometimes the email notification lags behind the actual letter being uploaded to your portal. If you applied online and paid the fee, but haven't seen the letter in your account after 10 business days, it is recommended to contact IRCC via their Web Form. |
Anonymous2026:Mine was a PFL, it took 2 months after I replied before I got a feedback from them. The feedback was "Ready for Visa" Be patient and remain hopeful. |
Reference letters are supposed to be enough, but the payslip or account statement showing salary payments gives more credibility to your application. So by any means necessary try to attach a payslip to your reference letters. Stunningsail: |
The Professional Engineer License is the end goal of all of this effort, One of the requirements is a 48 Months work Experience as an Engineer, which I do not have, as I only have 24Months and also, a Master degree in a related Engineering program accounts for additional 12Months of work experience leaving me needing 12 more months of work experience before I can qualify to apply for the certification. And I believe that after attaining a master degree in Canada i could easily get the extra needed 12Months of experience. But i read somewhere that the skilled trade work experience could also count towards the 48Months experience if I performed "Engineering Intern" level duties under the supervision of a licensed P.Eng who can vouch for my technical competency. This is one of the reasons why I am considering the red seal exam; as it offers me the ability to earn while still gaining experience for the P.Eng license. lanresz: |
Having a reference letter might not be enough, and just plainly stating that it was a mistake, might also not be enough, there has to be a proper justification as why you mixed up your employment dates in two different profiles. Question that might need answers include In the expired profile was there another work experience in the 2018-2019 time frame? In the new profile that got ITA what work experience finally replaced the 2020-2022 time period after you corrected it to the "Right" time period. If possible can you list out all the work experience with the time period contained in the two profiles I am just preparing your mind for what is to come, you have to think 2 steps ahead and prepare For all scenarios before submitting that application. I need Ideas, I got PR and would be landing in Ontario in June, I am an Electrical Electronic Engineer by profession (2years experience in field work), I also have Certification in Information Technology. Even though the last 3 years, I have been working as an Investigation officer with a Federal government agency. My initial plan was to go back to school once I land to earn a masters degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. But that plan has been placed on hold due to low finance. I am thinking of what to do to be able to get a job as soon as possible when I land, I am thinking of challenging the RedSeal certificate Exam which will enable me practice as a tradesman in Construction Electrician. Then go back to school for my masters within 1 year. I really need ideas on how to navigate this as a new immigrant. |
This is one of the best way to evade getting refused. If you have multiple profiles with different NOCs ensure to declare all the work experience both in the previous profile and in your current profile in the personal history section of your EPR application. You will most likely get a PFL, but doing this, gives you a slim chance of getting Approval if you can properly explain the discrepancies and you have supporting documents to backup your explanations. You don't have to pay to secure an appointment, just book appointment then go with Ur international passport. Payment will be made When you get there. Haywhy433: |
Not entirely true, she should go ahead and write her IELTS exam and also Evaluate her Credentials. Go through page 1of this thread for all information regarding the PR process. Lovebeam: |
Word of advice for those with CRS of 470 and above, but still struggling to get invited. ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE BASED IN NIGERIA. yes french draw is the most consistent draw currently but you can still position yourself for the Education and several other draws while still preparing for the french Exam In 2024, I was in the pool and I had a CRS point of 480.I Wrote IELTS thrice just to get maximum score, wrote BCS exam to get the two or more certificates points. In the end, i was so frustrated because the STEM draw I was hoping to get had a CRS cut of 491 and I missed out. They never did another STEM draw till date. Same 2024, I registered with Alliance Francaise to start preparing for TCF exam, it was so difficult for me that I gave up after 1 month because I knew I wouldn't be ready to attempt that exam even in the next 2years. What did I do? I couldn't let my CRS of 480 go to waste, so I position my self by going through all the category based NOC's on IRCC website checked through the employment requirements and if the work experience were regulated (there is a very big loop hole there). As an Electrical Electronics Engineer, I had the flexibility of claiming some NOC's under the Trade category, there are Some NOC's where the Employment requirements is a secondary school certificate. Do your research on the IRCC website, get a job in that NOC and get your invite. Everything depends on how much you want it. I picked one of the NOC's and applied for jobs related to that NOC, I didn't even mind being underpaid I was very desperate. Luckily for me I got one. And after 6months of working there I added the NOC to my profile. In 2025, my CRS reduced to 475 due to age, Mid 2025, I got invited through that job experience. It is unfortunate that the category based work experience time frame has been increased to 12months but that shouldn't stop you unless you feel you can Ace the TCF exam in One year. Note: Don't be too desperate to the point of going to alter your Profile, IRCC keeps a record of all your entries and if found that your application is not consistent you could be banned for 5 years for misrepresentation. It is better to get a job with verifiable documents and add it to your profile than going to alter the profile to fit in a fake work experience. |
The POF stayed in my account for only 2 days before I printed my statement of account. Even though my Complete PR application was submitted 23 days later. The thing with gift deed is not about how long the money stayed in your account, but proving that the funds is not an arrangement fund. That is why there is need for it to come from a blood relative and not using a recently opened account because it might raise suspicion. napoleonbaba: |
Full list of job Experience for category draws 2026 1.Medical doctors, researchers and senior managers with Canadian work experience 2. Workers with French-language proficiency 3. Health care and social services professionals 4. Tradespersons 5. Educators 6. Professionals for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) occupations 7. Professionals for transport occupations 8. Pilots, aircraft mechanics and inspectors 9. Highly skilled foreign military applicants recruited by The Canadian Armed Forces for key roles such as military doctors, nurses and pilots Do well to research for the NOC's under these categories on the IRCC website |
You will not be invited to apply Until you reach the 12Months work experience threshold. The good part is that it doesn't need to be 12months Continuous. If you already have 6months you need to find a way to get an additional 6months for you to qualify for a category based draw... UrFears: |
Update on this, Canada has passed a new rule, for you to qualify for any category based draw you must have at least 12-month work-experience in that job within the last 3years. It is no longer 6months. chimzyblack: |
It doesn't really matter, the main thing is you can prove that you received payment for work experience claimed. But a minimum wage (70k) should be the least any worker in Nigeria should be earning. But you and I know that many teachers receive less than that. so sit down with the Director/Owner and reach an agreement on that. Damolux01: |
You already have everything in place, what you need is to position yourself properly for the Education draw. Based on previous post from others on this thread NOC 43100 (Teaching Assistant) qualifies for Education draw and does not require a teaching certificate. One of the employment requirements is the completion of a secondary school certificate which is equivalent to WAEC, this is a loophole that can be utilised if one gets a PFL letter. Start by requesting your uncle give you a job in his school with a signed Appointment/offer letter. This Appointment must come with a monthly pay from the school's bank account so that you can use the bank payment as proof of work experience when you get ITA. All you need is 12 month's work experience and you can add it to your profile. While you continue with your french exam preparations. opezi: |
PrettyRX:I used a gift deed in my application process, but in my case I used my regular Nigerian bank account which I normally use to process large transactions. This allowed me to print a 6 Months statement of the account which showed past transactions and made the total credit count on the statement of account to be large. It is usually advisable to use an old account when doing a gift deed. Also make sure the money is sent to the account by a direct blood relative and attach a document to show your relationship with this person (in my case I used our birth certificates, which had the names of our parents on them) My Pdf for Proof of funds had the following documents; 1.Letter of Explanation for gift deed 2.Notorized gift deed from a High Court 3.Transaction Receipt of the money (from the sender) 4.Birth certificates showing relationship 5.Reference Letter/letter of non-indebtedness from the bank 6 Statement of account 7. Printed screenshot of the POF when converted from Naira to Canadian dollar on OANDA website |
Refer to page 1 of this thread, everything there is still 90% accurate Teejahny: |

KingCassy:She better just continue in the path of Bsc being her highest qualification before the PGD else she will not only be refused she will also be banned and removed from Canada for 5 years. So better continue in that path. |
Favouralltheway:Just book an appointment. On the day of appointment, you will be asked to make Ur payment in naira, before registering and having your medical test. Make sure to go with Ur int. passport |
yingman:Thanks for this very enlightening post. For every category based NOC that one plans to use for his EE application, he/she must ensure to check the employment requirement of that NOC in Canada. If it is a regulated NOC and you don't possess the Certification for that NOC, the chances of you being refused is 100%. |
Zeemaan:Simply combine all Educational Certificates together in one PDF. Degree certificate Transcripts WES ECA IELTS TRF You can also add a LOE in the PDF explaning that the PDf contains the above listed documents. So in one PDF you will have LOE, Degree certificate, Transcripts, WES,IELTS and TRF. this PDF will be uploaded in the Education placeholder. |
But any job you put in your work history Pre-ITA, a place holder is automatically created for submission of proof of that work experience. If a LOE is not submitted in that placeholder won't the application be deemed as incomplete? Ontarioo: |
Nemmie:IOM centre in Asokoro, you have to book an appointment first. Also the total fee (Application+RPRF) In naira using timon Virtual dollar card is about 1.83M |
For those who recently made payment for application fee and RPRF please what payment platform did you use? I don't want to use chipper cash. |
I have been reading about recent refusal on other websites and some say adding Cash Salary certificate is a red flag. It's making want to remove mine from my application. Can someone give me ideas. |
Guys does choosing to not pay RPRF together with the application fee when submitting your application have any effect? |
