Chai, don't crucify me naa. It is not the job title that is my problem o. It's the duties. They don't really match elfmann: |
Did that. My worry is just that the duties I listed in my post is exactly what the HR said they will write on the letter. They are not willing to tweak the duties or even the title. Do it think it can fly? This is what the NOC 1114 says for financial planners, the closest in description. Do you think they match at all? This unit group includes professional occupations in finance not elsewhere classified such as financial planners, financial examiners and inspectors, financial investigators, financial underwriters, mortgage brokers and trust officers. They are employed by banks, trust companies, investment firms and governments, or they may be self-employed. Financial planners develop personal financial plans for clients covering cash management, finances, insurance coverage, investments, retirement and estate planning, taxes and legal matters; analyze clients' financial records, set goals and develop a financial strategy; advise clients on implementing the financial plan to help them achieve their goals; may also arrange for the purchase and sale of financial products and investments depending on the licence held, and monitor the portfolio to ensure its quality and profitability; and help to expand business and attract new clients. Titles: 1. foreign interbanking arrangements officer 2. interbanking arrangements officer Kontagious: |
I have done that. But the list I posted is exactly what the HR said they will write on the letter and also state Funds Transfer Officer. I can get them to tweak either the duties or title sef.. Is it ok? If I decide to use another job as primary NOC, can the FT one fly like that? veritas3: |
Good morning all, Thanks for the swift response yesterday. I appreciate it. I hope I am not being a bother if I ask another question. I was not going to but my former employers just contacted me yesterday evening and said that they cannot help me with tweaking my duties while I was there to align with any NOC. I was with them for 4 years as a Funds Transfer officer. See details of my roles below. I would really really appreciate your answers once again in helping me decide on which NOC is best. The thing is giving me worry. Don't want it to be this NOC wahala that will give me problem after sorting the distance learning thing. Thanks. • Accurately processing a variety of financial transactions. • Balancing work daily, and supporting the operations and service functions of the branch, including adherence to all security, reconciliation, monitoring and balancing policies and procedures. • File documents and correspondence, and maintain security within the unit. • Handle all funds transfer instructions. • Handle remittance of regulatory returns upon receipt of authorization. • Liaise with interfacing functions within the bank (SWIFT, Treasury Operations, Clearing and other branches) in the execution of daily duties. • Maintain an accurate record of all activities and transactions. • Perform other duties as assigned by Unit head/Team Lead. • Prepare daily proof of transit accounts and monthly proof of all accounts • Proactively identify referral opportunities utilizing the fundamentals of the sales process by uncovering customer needs and suggesting bank products and services. • Process all inflows and outflows of funds (SWIFT, inter-branch transfers, VAT payments, etc) according to requirements of set policies and procedures. • Process and handles Managers Cheques request and issuance. • Process and transmit all clearing instruments through the central clearing /municipal/or Zonal clearing unit in line with the Bank clearing procedure. • Process of treasury and money market products. • Process salaries accounts and ensure quick credit to salary accounts. • Process standing order instructions/transactions. • Provide regular reports/updates as required for management attention • Provide support in expense processing/posting and prepare daily expense monitoring report. • Reconcile prepaid expenses and other sundry accounts daily. • Reconcile sundry statements of accounts and resolve identified outstanding items. • Remittance of taxes and rendition of regulatory and internal reports. |

Hello everyone, I am amazed at the extent of information one can gather here. It is better than anything an 'agent' can offer. This is the beginning of my sojourn on this platform and this Canada journey also. I have read through the page and I have a good knowledge of all that is required. Kudos to you all. I have a few questions that I would appreciate answers to please: I am 33 and hubby is a year older. I am aiming to be the PA since I have 5 more points in age and also getting employment reference letters would be easier cos I have had only two employers as against DH's 4. So one of my questions stems from the fact that I have an MBA via distance learning from a UK university. Although my degree certificate does not state that in any way, I am worried that it may not be accepted bearing in mind the extract I got from the CIC site on document requirements. See below: In cases where an applicant’s background information suggests that a Canadian education credential may have been obtained via distance learning either abroad or while present in Canada, it is at the officer’s discretion to request for supporting documentation. If it is determined that the applicant obtained more than 50 percent of their education via distance learning, the applicant should not be awarded additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points for having a Canadian education credential. If the reduction in CRS points results in the applicant having a score below the minimum CRS, the application should be refused per A11.2 & Applicants are instructed to indicate that their education was completed by correspondence by typing in brackets {by correspondence} on the same line as the education institution name found in the Education Background Information tab of GCMS. The discretion remains with the officer to decide if a police certificate is required for the country of the education institution 2.) Furthermore, I also need to know if I can use the job i did 4 years ago as my primary NOC instead of my current job. (I am having some issues deciding with my current job-next question explains why) 3.) Do you think I can use Credit Manager 0122 NOC. My job details in the past 3 and half years has been as a Retail & Credit Risk Analyst. But under the Lead Statement for the said NOC 0122, it states that is for "managers". I am only a 4th level officer in my bank although my work entails approving credit requests for disbursements and everything related to processing credit requests. I also supervise other junior officers. Will they raise an eyebrow due to my level? I am not a middle or senior level officer. I am thinking NOC 1212 but I am not sure that cuts it. Apologies for my long write-up. I don't want to keep disturbing you guys with questions. Please help me to make a decision. Thank you. |
