Politics / The Real Reasons Why Nigeria Media Chiefs Were Sacked by chosen04(f): 9:57pm On Feb 15, 2016
NIGERIA’S MEDIA CHIEFS SACKED BECAUSE OF INABILITY TO STOP RADIO BIAFRA

For their inability to match the technological superiority of Radio Biafra, Retired Major General Muhammadu Buhari has sacked Nigeria’s Media Chiefs comprising Mr. Sola Omole of NTA, Ladan Salihu of FRCN, Sam Worlu of VON, Mike Omeri of NOA, Emeka Mba of NBC, and Ima Niboro of NAN.

Buhari, who voted billions of dollars to these government media outfits, was disappointed by the ineptitude and dismal performance of the various units mandated to stop Radio Biafra. At several occasions, these organizations boasted that they have effectively neutralized Radio Biafra and went to town partying for their phantom success. To their chagrin, Radio Biafra continued to broadcast to the entire humanity with more devastating and damaging evidences of structural deficiencies inherent in the British concoction called Nigeria.

Radio Biafra has been able to raise the consciousness of Biafrans as well as the International Community on the plight of Biafrans and provided incontrovertible evidence that Biafra consists of the present-day South-East, South-South (except Edo state), Igala in Kogi state, and Idoma in Benue state. The “divide-and-rule” strategy fashioned against Biafrans by the British and their Hausa-Fulani and Yoruba accomplices were effectively deconstructed and destroyed by the superior evidence, logic, and research undertaken by the Editorial Board of Radio Biafra.

Furthermore, Radio Biafra was used as a rallying point for Biafrans all over the world including those residing in various parts of Nigeria. Through the efforts of Radio Biafra, every Biafran has truly identified himself or herself as a Biafran and recognizes the supremacy of Chukwu Okike Abiama in all things. Radio Biafra was able to remove the scales of deceit planted by Yoruba-based Pentecostal Churches and their criminal tithing obsessions with which they cart away billions of Naira every week from Biafrans in Biafra and elsewhere in the world. Finally, Radio Biafra imparted into Biafrans, the unquenchable, unstoppable, irreversible, and irresistible quest for the restoration of the Nation of Biafra.

Considering these and many more monumental achievements of Radio Biafra and how hopelessly and helplessly these Nigeria’s major Media Outfits were, Buhari was left with no other option than to sack the Media Chiefs. Therefore, their sack is an empirical evidence that Radio Biafra has won the media war!!!......... By Mazi Clifford Iroanya. (Co- Spokesman of the Indigenous People of Biafra)

BIAFRA: EVEN SADDAM HUSSEIN WAS NOT SECRETLY TRIED - - Group Blast FG Over Nnamdi Kanu.

Labour, Health and Human Rights Development Centre has condemned plans by the federal government to secretly try Radio Biafra Director and leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu and two others, Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi.

The trio are facing charges of alleged treason, maintaining unlawful society, possession of firearms, among others.

Government has already asked a Federal High Court in Abuja for backing to carry out a secret trial and ruling fixed for February.

But the centre in a statement by its Executive Director, Ayodele Akele, said the activists are campaigning for the self determination of their indigenous people of Biafra, which is lawful and as enshrined in the African Charter on Human and Peoples Rights,(Ratification and Enforcement Act)Article 20 to which Nigerian State is a signatory.

It said: “Secret trial under any guise is totally unacceptable, we condemn it in strongest term and unequivocally any attempt to try Nnamdi Kanu and co or any other Nigerian for that matter in camera or in secrecy!

“What is the APC regime of President Buhari trying to hide from the members of the public? A re-militarisation of Nigeria society? The truth is that since Buhari became president, Nigerians feels like a country under a military junta once again!

“It is regrettable that the general insecurity, rampaging insurgency in the North East of Nigeria (in spite of FGN claimed technical defeat of Boko Haram), the yet to be rescued chibok girls, welfare of Nigerian people, instead of job creation, we are witnessing job massacre, government unwillingness to pay the miserable N18, 000 minimum wage for workers. ......... http://dailypost.ng/2016/02/14/biafra-even-saddam-hussein-was-not-secretly-tried-group-blasts-fg-over-kanu/

Network On Police Reform In Nigeria Condemns Military Crackdown On IPOB, Urges Investigation Into Incidents
NOPRIN, the Network on Police Reform In Nigeria, has condemned in the strongest terms what it calls the continued unwarranted and brutal crackdown by the military on unarmed members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

NOPRIN, the Network on Police Reform In Nigeria, has condemned in the strongest terms what it calls the continued unwarranted and brutal crackdown by the military on unarmed members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

In a statement today signed by its National Coordinator, Okechukwu Nwanguma, the group called on the President to order military and other law enforcement authorities to act professionally and humanely and desist from the use of excessive and lethal use of force to suppress peaceful protests.

It cited a crackdown yesterday morning in Aba when it said military men who arrived in several Hilux vans opened fire on members of IPOB as they were conducting prayers at the National High School, killing nine unarmed members instantly, and bundling away several injured ones.

According to the statement, “One of the IPOB members who witnessed the attack informed NOPRIN:  ‘we gathered at National High School when Police men came with up to fifteen Hilux. They were outside, and before we know it, the military men came with (another) five Hilux Vans and a Jeep. They surrounded us as if we are criminals. We were singing and praying. They took six of our coordinators and three others away and started shooting at us. Nine people died instantly. They took them away with those with gunshot (injuries). Two died on our way to the hospital. Four in one hospital have no hope (of survival) with many others. All there Hilux Vans were filled with our men…’”

NOPRIN described the conduct of the military as a heinous crime and human rights abuse against a group conducting itself peacefully, stressing that the attack was unprovoked and unjustified as the IPOB members were neither armed nor posed any threat to the military or to anyone else.

“This latest merciless shooting and abduction of members of IPOB by the military is one too many,” it said.

It recalled that on December 18, a coalition of human rights groups in Anambra State had written to Governor Obiano to express concern over the practice of those armed with instruments of coercion repeatedly mowing down in cold blood innocent and unarmed citizens he had sworn to protect.

“The use of excessive force and firearms by security and law enforcement agencies in responding to civil situations is unprofessional and a violation of the Code of Conduct for Law Enforcement Agencies,” NOPRIN pointed out. “In this instant case, there was even no need, in the first place, to use firearms at all. In many previous instances of shootings at protesters by the military, the protesters were not armed or violent. The firing of live bullets at groups of unarmed protesters appears to be motivated by hate. There were shocking instances when soldiers went to hospitals where victims were taken to for treatment and inexplicably bundled them away.”

NOPRIN underlined that there are civilized and legally established ways and procedures of dealing with public disorder, especially in a democracy.

“There are also mechanisms for reviewing the actions of security forces in such circumstances,” it said.  “Even where it is found that a protest was violent, a case of disproportionate use of force and firearms could still be established.”

It regretted what it identified as a clear lack of professionalism and lack of restraint by Nigeria’s security agencies, stressing that they must adhere to the provisions of the constitution as well as domestic and international human rights and humanitarian standards which Nigeria subscribes to.

It called on the government to lead by example by demonstrating its full commitment to protecting human rights, adhering to due process and promoting the rule of law in order to deepen and strengthen, rather than undermine, democracy.

“The Nigerian Government, as a signatory to regional and international human rights treaties, must fulfill its obligation to ensure the protection of the human rights of its citizens, and in particular, to prevent, investigate and punish all cases of extrajudicial killings and to ensure adequate compensation for the victim,” NOPRIN declared.

BUHARI OVERSTATED HIS ABILITY TO STOP TERRORISM – British media

– British media express their dissapointment over President Buhari’s broken promises

– A deadly attack in Dalori is a vivid example of the presidency’s inability to defeat Boko Haram

–  At least 86 people were killed and 62 more injured in the attack that lasted for about four hours

– “There is a difference between what he would like to do and what he is able to do.”

– Terrorism, corruption, economic and other issues are yet to be addressed

Editor’s note: Alistair Dawber, the reporter of the British national newspaper The Independent, claims that Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari overstated his ability to stop the Islamists and a deadly attack in Dalori village clearly shows that the fight with Boko Haram insurgency is far from its end.

The reprisal attack where the terrorists burnt children alive

The attack in the village of Dalori began when three female suicide bombers detonated their explosive belts in the name of Boko Haram. Four hours later, after the jihadists had firebombed houses with local people locked inside, 86 men, women and children were dead.

Women and children look at burnt out houses following an attack by Boko Haram in Dalori

“They came in through the bush, some of them riding on motorcycles and some in cars. People ran helter skelter for safety. Some crossed the river behind our village and we made distress calls to the soldiers but no help came. They started shooting and burnt the town. They even beheaded some of us and set the elderly, who could not escape, on fire,” a resident of Dalori, in Nigeria’s violent north east, told Channels Television

Boko Haram, the band of Islamists that has sworn loyalty to ISIS and which wants to extend its writ across West Africa, is a group that President Muhammadu Buhari has previously said he has beaten. Its continued presence is an embarrassment for the retired army general.

To make matters worse, as news of the attack filtered through, his government had been forced to go cap in hand to the World Bank and African Development Bank, asking for $3.5bn in loans as the fall in the price of oil has caused the Nigerian economy to falter.

Last weekend was probably Mr Buhari’s worst since winning the election 11 months ago – and it capped an uncomfortable time in office.
He came to power on a promise of ending the endemic corruption that had become rife under his predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan, and offering his own guarantee as a military man that Boko Haram’s days were numbered. He has largely over-promised and under-delivered.

“There is a difference between what he would like to do and what he is able to do. He made a promise to tackle corruption, in a country where the only way to get something done is to bribe somebody. Nigeria is almost ungovernable, but he has also been slow to make reforms,” said Richard Dowden, director of the Royal African Society.

Buhari promised “normalcy” for the people in the North-East but failed

If Mr Buhari, “a straight talking military man” according to Mr Dowden, has had little time to cement changes in Nigerian society, he has been quick to laud apparent successes against Boko Haram. In an interview at the end of last year, he said that the Nigerian army, criticised in some quarters for its ineffective performance against the insurgents, had “technically defeated” Boko Haram.

It is true that the military has enjoyed a number of successes, and Nigeria’s regional standing has gained currency – there is now more cooperation between Nigeria and its neighbours. But, as the attack in Dalori shows, the fight is far from at an end.

The war between jihadists and the Nigerian government has killed 20,000 people in the last six years and driven nearly 2.5 million from their homes. Mr Buhari has promised “normalcy” for the people in the North-east areas around the town of Maiduguri, the worst affected area, but it appears that the normality is Boko Haram’s ability to act with impunity.

Economic issues

If the Nigerian president has been too quick to declare his successes against Boko Haram, he has had little chance to solve the other problem in his in-tray. Nigeria’s economy relies heavily on oil – about 70 per cent of national income comes from sales of crude – but the recent collapse in its price has caused the country’s deficit to grow. Just a third of Nigeria’s income is expected to come from oil revenues this year.

The price of oil over the last month

Gene Leon, the International Monetary Fund’s representative in Nigeria, told the Financial Times that Nigeria faced “significant external and fiscal account challenges”. Africa’s biggest oil producer is looking to borrow up to $5bn to shore up its economy. Up to $3.5bn will be sought from the World Bank and African Development Bank, with the rest borrowed from the capital markets.

“We have held exploratory talks with the World Bank. We have not applied for emergency loans,” said the finance minister, Kemi Adeosun.

Some of this, at least, has been sheer bad luck for Mr Buhari. The price of a barrel of oil has halved since he was sworn in last May. According to the IMF, Nigeria is expected to report growth of about three per cent for 2015. If accurate, it would be the lowest growth rate for more than a decade. https://www.naij.com/720009-british-media-roast-buhari-broken-promises-defeat-boko-haram.html/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_group=free

Cameroonian separatist group throws weight behind Biafra, enters alliance with agitators

A Cameroonian separatist group has thrown its weight behind the agitation for Biafra in neighbouring Nigeria, News Express has learnt.

The group, which goes by the name Rufasca and is working for the independence of the people of Southern Cameroon, has reportedly entered into an alliance with the Biafra Nations Youth League (BNYL), one of the groups currently campaigning for the resuscitation of Biafra Republic, which existed from 1967 to 1970 before surrendering to superior federal forces.

“Rufasca is seeking to collaborate with us in the best interest of the people of Southern Cameroon otherwise known as Ambazonia,” BNYL National President, Comrade Prince Chimezie Obuka, told News Express.

“Rufasca has not only allied with us, but they are now part of BNYL representing the interest of Ambazonia. With them in the movement and the BNYL at large, the Nigerian Government will find it difficult denying Biafra access to the sea,” Obuka said.

He disclosed that a Rufasca delegation will attend the BNYL Congress scheduled to hold on February 27, 2016 in Ikom, Cross River State.

Comrade Obuka welcomed the alliance with Rufasca, explaining that the people of Southern Cameroon and Eastern Nigeria share a common history.

“The name Ambazonia is gotten from the Ambas bay in the Bight of Biafra. Southern Cameroon occupies the largest portion of the Bight of Biafra. And they equally want to pull out from Cameroon. We have shared common history as they were administered alongside Eastern Nigeria under the NCNC led by Nnamdi Azikiwe. Our last leakage is Biafra’s coastal line. With the help of Rufasca, there is hope for the people of Bakassi,” the BNYL National President stated. http://www.newsexpressngr.com/news/detail.php?news=19883

HIJACKED SHIP: ARMY EXONERATES IPOB AS MASSOB DISTANCES SELF FROM SEIZURE.
Nigerian military authorities have exonerated the separatist group, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) from the reported hijack of a vessel with foreign nationals. The hijackers are demanding the release of jailed IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu who is facing treason charges.

Acting Director of Defence Information, Brig-General Rabe Abubakar told the Vanguard newspaper that “It is not true. The story about the hijack has happened but not within our waters and it is not under any particular group.

“But it (ship) is currently being guarded by Benin Republic Navy. The name of the Ship is MT Leondias (9279927), a tanker. The ship is presently in Benin waters, about 7.5 nautical miles, off Cotonou Port under the watch of the Benin Republic Navy.”

The exoneration by the military comes as another pro-Biafra group, Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB0 also washed its hand from the reported seizure of the vessel.

A leader of MASSOB, Mr. Uchenna Madu, said that the group has no hand in the alleged hijacking of any merchant ship or any threat to blow up the alleged ship, because of its non-violence policy

“I am aware that a militant group sometime gave the Federal Government twenty-one-day ultimatum to release Mr Nnamdi Kanu, failing which they threatened that they will do what will surprise the Nigerian government. Maybe it is the group, I do not even remember their name but I heard or read about that threat.

“You know that a lot of groups are springing up from the old Eastern Region to agitate for the actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra and as far as they are fighting for Biafra, we cannot disown them, but they have their own style which I think the Federal Government of Nigeria understands easily. If you are not violent, they will not understand and they will ignore you. So, we support the group if that is what they have actually done.

“We in MASSOB are not involved in violence, that is why they do not take us serious. They believe we are illiterate job seekers that are frustrated in life and decided to demand for Biafra. They think that our own is to demonstrate peacefully and they will shoot and kill us and go into jubilation that they have dealt with us, but now, they have seen their match. We support the people if they have actually done that.”

I'll help cure your ignorance, not for your sake but for the sake of others that may stumble on this junk.

First of all, there is a Joint Venture Contract (JVC) and Profit Sharing Contract (PSC) between the Nigerian Government and the International Oil Companies (IOCs). While there are slight variances in each of the contract, the Nigerian State has an average of about 59% stake in the contracts.

When oil is sold for $38, the Nigerian State only has around 59% of that total figure. Secondly, the amount that comes to the Nigerian State goes into the Federation Account to be shared to all tiers of government. The Federal Government has only around 54% of this amount.

Now let's deconstruct your figures again:
---
(1) Gross earnings for entire 2016 = $30.51bn
(2) Nigerian share in Dollars (59%) = $18.00bn
(3) Budget Naira Exchange Rate = N197/$
(4) Nigerian share in Naira = N3.54tn
(5) 13% to Oil Producing States = N461bn
(6) Balance in Federation Account = N3.083tn
(7) Federal Government Share (54%) = N1.66tn

The figures above are GROSS figures. You'll have to discount the cost of production to arrive at a NET figure for the Federal Government.

So are you telling us that the govt produces at a lost cos that is the only way that you can remove the cost of production from N1.66tn to arrive at an income of = N820b....Try and come up with another line. This one is stale

Your analysis is wrong. You need to remove the following cost before determining Federal Government Revenue from Petroleum:

1.Production cost/Profit sharing with the multinationals

2.Share by State Government and Local Government Area of the revenue accruing thereoff.
....So are you now dishonestly trying to tell us that the cost of proudction and other sundry expenses involved is about 5 times more than the expected revenue/income?.......So you want me to believe that the govt produces oil at a lost?.....Try and come up with another line as this one is stale.

Ignorant folks sending out ignorant folks to protest in front of trigger happy policemen

$38/ barrel
2 million barrels a day ( if they can find buyers)
60% profit share

60% X 2,000,000 X $38 X 365 = WETIN
Remove operational and production expenses.
Assuming production goes on 24/7. No shutdowns and all

Awon didinrin
......FYI, freedom begins to be possible when men are not afraid to die for what they believe in. Biafra land is not like your feudal system where the "haves" and sends the "have-nots" out to do their wish, in Biafraland everyone chooses whatever s/he does thus your claim that someone sent anybody out to protest is dead on arrival.......Why didnt you work out the oil production to arrive at the figure that the clueless govt quoted?
