Dear all, if you refused to pay tithes you are robbing God. The God of old testament is the same God of the new testament. If you refuse to repent, my friend you are risking hell fire. Because God will take you as a robber! And no robber can enter the kingdom of God.

Response No.1

Did Jesus Claim To Be God?

So what is it that convinces many scholars that Jesus claimed to be God? Author, John Piper explains that Jesus claimed power which uniquely belonged to God.
“…Jesus’ friends and enemies were staggered again and again by what he said and did. He would be walking down the road, seemingly like any other man, then turn and say something like, ‘Before Abraham was, I am.’ Or ,‘If you have seen me, you have seen the Father.’ Or, very calmly, after being accused of blasphemy, he would say, ‘The Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.’ To the dead he might simply say, ‘Come forth,’ or, ‘Rise up.’ And they would obey. To the storms on the sea he would say, ‘Be still.’ And to a loaf of bread he would say, ‘Become a thousand meals.’ And it was done immediately.”
But what did Jesus really mean by such statements? Is it possible Jesus was merely a prophet like Moses or Elijah, or Daniel? Even a superficial reading of the Gospels reveals that Jesus claimed to be someone more than a prophet. No other prophet had made such claims about himself; in fact, no other prophet ever put himself in God’s place.
Some argue that Jesus never explicitly said, “I am God.” It is true that he never stated the exact words, “I am God.” However, Jesus also never explicitly said, “I am a man,” or “I am a prophet.” Yet Jesus was undoubtedly human, and his followers considered him a prophet like Moses and Elijah. So we cannot rule out Jesus being divine just because he didn’t say those exact words, anymore than we can say he wasn’t a prophet. In fact, Jesus’ statements about himself contradict the notion that he was simply a great man or a prophet. On more than one occasion, Jesus referred to himself as God’s Son. When asked whether he thought it far-fetched for Jesus to be the Son of God, lead singer of U2, Bono, answered:

“No, it’s not far-fetched to me. Look, the secular response to the Christ story always goes like this: He
was a great prophet, obviously a very interesting guy, had a lot to say along the lines of other great
prophets, be they Elijah, Muhammad, Buddha, or Confucius. But actually Christ doesn’t allow you that. He doesn’t let you off the hook. Christ says, No. I’m not saying I’m a teacher, don’t call me a teacher. I’m not saying I’m a prophet….I’m saying I’m God incarnate.” And people say: No, no, please, just be a prophet. A prophet we can take.” [8]

Before we examine Jesus’ claims, it is important to understand that he made them in the context of the Jewish belief in one God (monotheism). No faithful Jew would ever believe in more than one God. And Jesus believed in the one God, praying to his Father as, “the only true God.”[9]
But in that same prayer, Jesus spoke of having always existed with his Father. And when Philip asked Jesus to show them the Father, Jesus said, “Philip, have I been with you so long and you don’t know me? Whoever has seen me, has seen the Father.”[10] So the question is: “Was Jesus claiming to be the Hebrew God who created the universe?” Yes.

Now, Did Jesus Claim To Be The God Of Abraham & Moses?

Jesus continually referred to himself in ways that confounded his listeners. As Piper notes, Jesus made theaudacious statement, “Before Abraham was, I AM.”[11] He told Martha and others around her, “I AM the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, though he is dead, yet shall he live.”[12] Likewise, Jesus would make statements like, “I AM the light of the world,”[13] “I AM the only way to God,”[14] or, “I AM the “truth.”[15] These and several other of his claims were preceded by the sacred words for God, “I AM” (ego eimi)[16]. What did Jesus mean by such statements, and what is the significance or the term, “I AM”? Once again, we must go back to context. In the Hebrew Scriptures, when Moses asked God His name at the burning bush, God answered, “I AM.” He was revealing to Moses that He is the one and only God who is outside of time and has always existed. Incredibly, Jesus was using these holy words to describe himself. The question is,
“Why?” Since the time of Moses, no practicing Jew would ever refer to himself or anyone else by “I AM.” As a result, Jesus’ “I AM” claims infuriated the Jewish leaders. One time, for example, some leaders explained to Jesus why they were trying to kill him: “Because you, a mere man, have made yourself God.”[17] Jesus’ usage of God’s name greatly angered the religious leaders. The point is that these Old Testament scholars knew exactly what he was saying—he was claiming to be God, the Creator of the universe. It is only this claim that would have brought the accusation of blasphemy.

C. S. Lewis initially considered Jesus a myth. But this literary genius who knew myths well, concluded that Jesus had to have been a real person. Furthermore, as Lewis investigated the evidence for Jesus, he became convinced that not only was Jesus real, but he was unlike any man who had ever lived. Lewis writes:

“Then comes the real shock,’ wrote Lewis: ‘Among these Jews there suddenly turns up a man who goes about talking as if He was God. He claims to forgive sins. He says He always existed. He says He is coming to judge the world at the end of time.”[18]

Now What Kind Of God?

Some have argued that Jesus was only claiming to be part of God. But the idea that we are all part of God, and that within us is the seed of divinity, is simply not a possible meaning for Jesus’ words and actions. Such thoughts are revisionist, foreign to his teaching, foreign to his stated beliefs, and foreign to his disciples’ understanding of his teaching.
Jesus taught that he is God in the way the Jews understood God and the way the Hebrew Scriptures portrayed God, not in the way the New Age movement understands God.

Lewis explains,
Now let us get this clear. Among Pantheists, like the Indians, anyone might say that he was a part of God, or one with God….But this man, since He was a Jew, could not mean that kind of God. God, in their language, meant the Being outside the world, who had made it and was infinitely different from anything else. And when you have grasped that, you will see that what this man said was, quite simply, the most shocking thing that has ever been uttered by human lips.[19]

Certainly there are those who accept Jesus as a great teacher, yet are unwilling to call him God. As a Deist, we’ve seen that Thomas Jefferson had no problem accepting Jesus’ teachings on morals and ethics while denying his deity.[20] But as we’ve said, and will explore further, if Jesus was not who he claimed to be, then wemust examine some other alternatives, none of which would make him a great moral teacher. Lewis, argued, “I am trying here to prevent anyone from saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: ‘I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept his claim to be God.’ That is the one thing we must not say.”[21]
In his quest for truth, Lewis knew that he could not have it both ways with the identity of Jesus. Either Jesus was who he claimed to be—God in the flesh—or his claims were false. And if they were false, Jesus could not be a great moral teacher. He would either be lying intentionally or he would be a lunatic with a God complex.

The claims of Jesus Christ force us to choose. As Lewis stated, we cannot put Jesus in the category of being just a great religious leader or good moral teacher. This former skeptic challenges us to make up our own minds about Jesus, stating,

“You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or
something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.”

The greatest question in human history is, “Who is the real Jesus Christ?” Bono, Lewis, and countless others have concluded that God visited our planet in human form. But if that is true, then we would expect him to be alive today. And that is exactly what we his followers believe. And we have been witnessing!

In Mere Christianity, Lewis explores the options regarding the identity of Jesus, concluding that he is exactly who he claimed to be. His careful examination of the life and words of Jesus led this great literary genius to renounce his former atheism and become a committed Christian.

Wouldn’t you rather believe Him and have life? The choice is yours.
Remember you have two options in this life to choose from, life or death.

Religion / 10 Reasons Jesus Is Not God? by chosenst: 11:16pm On May 07, 2013
1. In the Gospel of Mark Chapter 8 says:

22 They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him.23 He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man’s eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, “Do you see anything?”
24 He looked up and said, “I see people; they look like trees walking around.”
25 Once more Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly. 26 Jesus sent him home, saying, “Don’t even go into the village.”

The story is about a blind man getting healed by Jesus.

The problem I have is: if Jesus is God incarnate in flesh, wouldn’t he know that the Blind man is healed already? Doesn’t God almighty know everything? How can Jesus mess up the healing and make him see people: they look like trees walking? Why does he have to perform the miracle again for the guy to see?

2. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. (Mathew 28:18)

6 “I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. 7 Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are from You. 8 For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent Me. (John 17:6-cool

All authority has been "GIVEN" to Jesus by the Father (God)? How can Jesus be "God" if he was "GIVEN" this authority? So before Jesus was "GIVEN" this "authority", what was he? He was a no body. What kind of God was he before he was “GIVEN” all this authority? If Jesus is co equal with the Father (God), why would Jesus need the Father to give him the authority if he is God himself?

3. Jesus Is Tempted
The Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert. There the devil tempted him (Jesus). 2 After 40 days and 40 nights of going without eating, Jesus was hungry.
3 The tempter came to him. He said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
8 Finally, the devil took Jesus to a very high mountain. He showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 “If you bow down and worship me,” he said, “I will give you all of this.”
10 Jesus said to him, “Get away from me, Satan! It is written, ‘Worship the Lord your God. He is the only one you should serve.’” 11 Then the devil left Jesus. Angels came and took care of him. (Mathew 4:1-11)

Can you ever think or come to your mind for 1 second that God gets tempted by the devil to do evil? It says in:

James 1:13 When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone.

So there you have it, God cannot be tempted to do evil and Jesus (pbuh) was tempted to do evil.

It says in verse 8: Finally, the devil took Jesus to a very high mountain. He showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 “If you bow down and worship me,” he said, “I will give you all of this.”
Can you imagine God almighty that created the heavens and the earth, the beautiful sky the earth, the mountains, trees, beautiful animals the sea. Yet devil says, I will give you all this, if you worship me? Isn’t it clear that that Jesus is not GOD? The reason the devil said these things, because he knew Jesus was not God but a prophet of God.

Jesus said lastly: "Worship the Lord your God". He is the only one you should serve.’ Jesus made it clear that the only person that should be worshipped is God alone and no one else.

4. 'I am going away and I am coming back to you.' If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. John 14:28

Jesus clearly said that the Father (God) is greater than him. Christians will argue and say: that this means that the Father is greater than Jesus in authority but not in essence. But this contradicts Matthew 28:18 where Jesus says all authority is given by the father to him. Another thing to note is, if they are all co equal as Christians say, how can 1 be greater than the other?

5. I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. John 5:30

Jesus (pbuh) here says it clearly that everything he does, the miracles, forgiving sin, is not from him but from God almighty. He does everything by the will of God.
If Jesus was God why couldn’t he do whatever he wanted, if he is God, why does he need to listen to the Father (God) to be granted permission?

6. And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine. (Mathew 7:28)
And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes. (Mark 1:22)
Jesus answered them, and said the following: My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. He means God almighty. (John 7:16)
So as you see it is clear that Jesus (pbuh) was a prophet of God almighty. The doctrine was teaching, which is the Gospel, is not his, but it belongs to the one who sent him, in other words God. If he was God, wouldn’t he be saying this Gospel is my own words, I am God?

7. You won’t find 1 verse in the whole Bible where Jesus says “I am God”. Why is that? If Jesus is God, why would he not declare that he is God? Is he shy to say he is God? I mean there are so many verses in the Old Testament where he makes himself clear that he is God, why hasn’t he once said he is God? Can I call someone King if he never declared himself to be a King? I am going to show 10 verses where God says he is God in Old Testament:

(A) Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me. (Isaiah 46:9)

(B) Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me. (Hosea 13:4)

(C) I am the LORD, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged me. Isaiah 45:5)

(D) And God said to him, "I am God Almighty; be fruitful and increase in number. A nation and a community of nations will come from you, and kings will be among your descendants. (Genesis 35:11)

(E) "I have heard the grumbling of the Israelites. Tell them, 'At twilight you will eat meat, and in the morning you will be filled with bread. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God.'" (Exodus 16:12)

(F) "I am God, the God of your father," he said. "Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you into a great nation there. (Genesis 46:3)

(G) "I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me? (Jeremiah 32:27)

(H) And they shall recompense your lewdness upon you, and ye shall bear the sins of your idols: and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.(Ezekiel 23:49)

(I) Keep my Sabbaths holy, that they may be a sign between us. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God." (Ezekiel 20:20)

(J) "So My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and utter lying divinations. They will have no place in the council of My people, nor will they be written down in the register of the house of Israel, nor will they enter the land of Israel, that you may know that I am the Lord GOD. (Ezekiel 13:9)

8. As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. “Good teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
18 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone. (Mark 10:17-18)

In this above verse a man runs up to Jesus and says “Good teacher” Jesus replies back and says “why do you call me good”? Jesus answered him and said “no one is good except God alone”. If he was really God, why would he differentiate himself, why would he say God ALONE is good? He is making himself clear that God alone is perfect and no one else, not even himself.

9. "But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

All believers know and believe that God almighty knows everything single thing. If Jesus is really God incarnate in flesh, how come he does not know the day of judgement when it will occur? So here we see the Jesus doesn’t know of the hour. The Angels don’t know of the hour and the Holy Spirit does not know of the hour as well. Yet we have Christians claiming that Jesus is God, the Holy Spirit is God and they are all co equal. If they are all co equal, how come the son does not know of the hour or the Holy Spirit??

10. Jesus bowing down and worshipping God:

(A) Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” (Mathew 26:39)

(B) He went away a second time and prayed, “My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.” (Mathew 26:42)

(C) Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. (Mark 1:35)

(D) They went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” (Mark 14:32)

(E) Going a little farther, he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him. (Mark 14:35)

(F) One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God. (Luke 6:12)

(G) He withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed. (Luke 22:41)

(H) And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground. (Luke 22:44)

Isn’t it logical for you to pray to the creator who Jesus worshipped?
Jesus says: But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth. (John 4:23)

Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'" (Mathew 4:10)

If Jesus said worship GOD ONLY, why do people worship Jesus?

Brothers and sisters in humanity come back to the truth and worship God alone and nobody else. Listen to Jesus (pbuh)’s teachings worship your Lord and his Lord.

Yes they did not know the Father (God) nor the Son (Jesus), that is why they are killing! Judgement is set against them unless they repent and beg God for forgiveness through the blood of Jesus.
plappville:

(John 16:1-4) 1“All this I have told you so that you will not go astray. 2They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering a service to God. 3They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me. 4I have told you this, so that when the time comes you will remember that I warned you. I did not tell you this at first because I was with you.

Its not only in Nigeria, Its a worldwide killing, you cannot stop it. what does this verse say? Muslims believe they kill for ALLAH abi?

No wonder God showed a pastor that all 'Christians' that have died are all in hell fire! How would that not be when they have married the world, brought the world into the church rather than giving the world the church! when they have forgotten that God cannot be mocked, you reap what you sow. If you sow to the flesh you will reap destruction..Galatians 6:7-8. And when they have been told to separate themselves from the world, but they have refused the voice of the saviour. How are they going to escape the Judgement of God? Including their Pastors and G.O's how are they going to escape for misleading the flocks? Pls readers follow this link and read about so called big pastors that God has warned to repent and stop leading their members to hell. http://mypenmypaper./2012/06/26/top-nigerian-pastors-seen-in-hell-

Disobedience is a sin true true. If you are heavenly minded, you will want to obey every word of the Bible to the last. You will not make a defence to yourself. You will be Christ like. that is why the early disciples were called christians.
Many 'christians' may not enter heaven because they have married the world, they have brought the world into the church rather than bringing the church into the world, they loved to be like those in the world - that is why they cannot see the sin in wearing trousers.

my friend, all what you posted are nothing but the truth!
But let me ask you, Is it possible to fight your God? Look here it is not possible. I want to start by answering from poster MS quoting Luke 19:27. If you start reading that chapter from verse 11 you will understand this parable (proverb) by Jesus. And what He said there, pointed to Him (Jesus) when his kingdom shall start, that God judgement will come down very hard on every disobedient child or slave.
Because God did not want us to come into that condemnation, that is why He sent Christ to come and save and reconcile mankind with God.
As God is a very loving God, He is also a consuming fire Hebrews 12:29
And only in this earth man can repent and ask God for forgiveness through Christ alone, because hereafter is judgement, and there is no forgiveness there. As you yourself see God in action in OT, is a lesson to us in NT to fear God, we cannot fight God, even Lucifer (Satan) could not!
All you saw Him doing or did in Old Testament, He can still do more than that in this new generation but He called this generation, a generation of great GRACE, and this grace is His life He laid down for the salvation of mankind, if anybody miss this GRACE, he/she will find himself/herself to blame. The Lord is God (I king 18:37 & 39) believe and be saved!

Founding Pastor of the Ark of Grace Ministry International, Agenda Gardens, Yellow House, Tantral Hills, Accra, Ghana, Apostle Daniel O. Daniels has warned that the country is heading towards disintegration.

The cleric said “enough is enough to bloodshed.”
According to Daniels, “God instructed that I should warn this nation, the citizenry and the leadership most especially the North, that He is the one that initiated and orchestrated the amalgamation of this nation but that some are taking the glory.

“The Almighty God said since they are taking the glory, that there is no prayer that would make the country to continue. Since the purpose of the amalgamation is not being achieved, there is no reason for its continued existence. If they insist on producing a president, the country would divide. No prayer can stop it.

He started further: “These people are systematically dismantling churches in the North. Christians there have suffered a lot of degradation and yet they are the divine sheep owned by the Almighty God. They are being killed and maimed as if their owner cannot defend them. God said He would rise up to defend them.”

He said, “God’s anger with the Northern Christian is that they have refused to call Him by His name, Jehovah God, the name as revealed from eternity. Jehovah has nothing to do with what they are calling Him over there today. As long as they have that name in their Bible, then they would continue to die. Christians should stand out as divine sheep and their owner would defend them.”

We love the Muslims, and it is wonderful to see so many of them finding the joy and freedom of salvation in Christ through our ministry The Lord's Chosen and further afield. But we must never forget that the Quran teaches the supremacy of Islam. To be a good Muslim you must believe that there is only one true religion – Islam. All others must be overthrown or subjugated. This is the clear teaching of the founder of Islam and of all its major religious texts.
