The trial of Maryam Sanda, who was granted bail based on medical reports which indicated that she is pregnant and ill is still ongoing, and a first prosecution witness Ibrahim Mohammed, a businessman and a friend of Bilyamin Bello, who was killed by his wife, Maryam Sanda, told a High Court in Jabi that she had earlier threatened to cut her husband’s penis.

According to Ibrahim Mohammed, he was smoking ‘Shisha’ and watching TV with the deceased, when Maryam came down to call the deceased. While they were upstairs, he heard noise from upstairs before Maryam sent Sadiya (the fourth defendant) to call him.

Leicester City striker, Kelechi Iheanacho has broken former Nigeria international, Yakubu Aiyegbeni’s goal record in the FA Cup. Iheanacho scored twice in Leicester City’s 5-1 thrashing of Peterborough on Saturday.

In doing so, the 21-year-old broke a record previously held by Aiyegbeni, as he took his tally in the prestigious competition to 9 goals in 9 appearances. Aiyegbeni notched 8 goals in 20 appearances in the FA Cup wearing the jerseys of Reading, Middlesbrough and Portsmouth.

The Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) has slammed a Not-To-Be-Broadcast (NTTB) warning on Olamide‘s latest single “Science Student“.

According to Nigerian Tribune, the warning was served to all radio and television stations over the week.

Confirming the news, NBC’s Head of Public Affairs Hajia Maimuna Jihada told Tribune that the song was not out-rightly banned but prohibited from being played on local stations for public consumption. She said:

NBC does not ban music. Our mandate is on what goes on Radio and TV. Olamide’s Science Student has been declared ‘Unfit for broadcast’.

She further went on to mention that the song’s subtle promotion of illegal drugs was the main reason for declaring it unlawful as she issued a stern warning to all broadcasting houses;

We have communicated all our licensees for compliance or they will face sanctions
