CrimeRe: Can a Woman Rape a Man? by chrisd(m): 6:21pm On Feb 23, 2006
Perhaps, but I don't know if that actually happens. I think a woman has enough men chasing her, so she should not have a problem right? Of course right. smiley

Christianity EtcRe: To Tithe or Not to Tithe? by chrisd(m): 5:30pm On Feb 21, 2006
Inspired by the need to raise money, indulgences reproduced the very logic of money. In place of the real thing (good works), indulgences substituted a completely valueless piece of paper. The only reason this worked is because everybody accepted this to be a valid substitution, just like everybody accepts money as a substitution for things that have value.
Christianity EtcRe: To Tithe or Not to Tithe? by chrisd(m): 5:28pm On Feb 21, 2006
It seems also that it is basically similar to the idea of indulgences as practiced in the later middle ages and eventually resulted in abuses that triggered the Protestant Reformation.

The whole concept of an indulgence is based on the medieval Catholic doctrine that sinners must not only repent of sins that they've committed, they must also confess these sins and pay some sort of retribution. It is against all that the protestant church fathers faught against.

IslamRe: God and Allah: Are they the same? by chrisd(m): 9:43pm On Feb 18, 2006
We must stick true to the original right. That's what the Bible tells us. grin
IslamRe: God and Allah: Are they the same? by chrisd(m): 9:38pm On Feb 18, 2006
He is right on this one, really. The word is pronounced "Mus"-lim in Arabic but some English dictionaries allow both.

Christianity EtcRe: Do You Know This Man? (Prophet Muhammad) by chrisd(m): 9:27pm On Feb 18, 2006
You should read a bit on Muhammed's life.
Christianity EtcRe: Do You Know This Man? (Prophet Muhammad) by chrisd(m): 9:27pm On Feb 18, 2006
I fear more british rowdy yobs near pubs at night rather than being attached by the muslims. Muslims stay at home taking care and enjoying their faimily and don't drink alcohol. That the truth.
Christianity EtcRe: Do You Know This Man? (Prophet Muhammad) by chrisd(m): 9:25pm On Feb 18, 2006
But you have to say that most western Muslims stay silent: because the price , or further hate crimes is high.
Christianity EtcRe: Do You Know This Man? (Prophet Muhammad) by chrisd(m): 9:24pm On Feb 18, 2006
So if they stay united and help each other and not to allow people to attack Muslims is something many people don't like.

Apathy is far more enjoyable compared to having to make a choice, or having to make a stand. This is quite simply because people don't want freedom to make changes for themselves, merely the illusion that they do. If their systems lets them put a little number next to a name, stick it in a ballot box and feel that they have made their contribution, then that's all they care about.

In addition in democracy we still have political villians, I mean every president has lied so many times on serious subjects.

The main flaw with a dictatorship is that the leader may do something that pisses alot of people off, and you can be assured that all the bleeding heart, "I'm-so-left-wing-I-want-to-cream-my-pants", political wankers who run like scared little rabbits at the mere mention of the words "communism" or "socialism" will argue this point to the death. Perhaps they should realise that the leader in a dictatorship can be overthrown. The few of them who don't run off will most likely attempt to argue: "oh, but an uprising would mean violence", and in reply to them, a resounding "yes" will be shouted by every right wing person present. Yes, it would take violence. It would mean death. Congratulations, you now have a basic idea of politics.

The holocoust tried to do that, but still many Jews around, so no need to worry, there will be muslims always. grin

Christianity EtcRe: Do You Know This Man? (Prophet Muhammad) by chrisd(m): 9:02pm On Feb 18, 2006
The life of muslims is entirely entwined in the life of Muhammed and trying to follow his example. Picturing Muhammed like that is insult to all aspect of Muslim life. That's why you got that strong reaction.
Christianity EtcRe: Do You Know This Man? (Prophet Muhammad) by chrisd(m): 9:00pm On Feb 18, 2006
The fact that some media bliss does not come from true christians is true. On the other hand, condemning the muslim reaction is very convenient. You talk about freedom of expression, muslim think of freedom of action. There are times when we need strong man so others will think well ahead before starting pranks of that sort.

Look at the image of protestant evangelical worship. The only worship I see is false prophets, drunk on power and money, worshipping one another and being worshipped by an adoring crowd. These men and the false segment of what the deceived believe to be Christianity. There are scads of very needy people out there who are going through unending misery, pain, and suffering. And having nowhere else to turn, it's sad, very sad, that they end up going to one of their miracle services, hoping to find some hope. And the reality is they are sent away empty handed. Is this something to rejoice about?
Christianity EtcRe: Do You Know This Man? (Prophet Muhammad) by chrisd(m): 8:39pm On Feb 18, 2006
I mean if there was no catholic or orthodox church, but just these pentecostals wacks, I would be a muslim. That's much better.
