One thing I like most about him is his confidence, though it becomes over sometimes. He's also comfortable with the ball.

Why would I get another Jones here? I would take Stones simply cos Varane is hardly fit ( I've already tagged him injury prone) and already conversant with the league.

I mentioned Stones verbally to a friend last week, he replied that I have not been watching him because he thinks Stones is not better than McNair. He said he commits lots of errors.

Stones has potential considering his age and very comfortable with the ball which is a bonus in recent football style of play. Every defender commits errors, even Ramos does almost per game. Considering his age he'll commit errors and you should also look at his team and their tactics. Martinez plays more of attacking football with little care on his defence, not to mention that Everton's defence has been made up of inexperienced defenders this season.

Let's be realistic here. We're not going to get Thiago or Ramos or even Varane. He's more feasible and there's a reason even Jose wanted him and Rio wants us to get him. And the person that compared him with McNair is seriously joking.

I am afraid too. Without the players on injury returning, we will not play differently from the way we do now or give superior performances over our opponents. We need a solid defence to give us a good balance. I checked possible return dates for Valencia, Rojo and Phil Jones, it was disappointing.

Valencia won't be returning till end of February. Rojo not until middle of February. Jones hasn't a return date because his is complicated. Before November, the whole world agreed we were very good defensively. Except for Gaal's mistake in starting Blind, Carrick, Darmian and Schweinsteiger all at once against Arsenal, we did well in almost all the other matches.

If Shaw, Valencia and Jones have not been on a long term injury, we would surely have been on top of the league. Even, we didn't notice Blind lack of pace and height when Shaw played beside him because he covered so much for him.

I wonder why we didn't go to buy at least a defender this window. If McNair could even give us 90% of his performance last season, we wouldn't have a problem.

Another problem is that our back up players are too young and lack experience. Those days, Oshea would do a great job in the absence of one or two of our defenders. Put Oshea in full back or DM, you're not going to get past him and he modestly supports attack. Put him in central defence, he will do a job for you, you won't beat him on aerial due or catch him badly positioned.

No be today we begin ask for a CB. If we had a consistent CB to partner Smalling, then, Blind would be at LB with Young on the LW to track back and cover his lack of pace. They also have good understanding of each other.

I wouldn't mind the amount spent to get that Stones this January. Dude is a good ball playing CB that LvG likes. There's a reason Rio has asked the club to get either him or Varane.

We were 7 men against 3 Newcastle forwards in our box area and we conceded. That is unacceptable. Smalling got confused on where to stay, then he went to stay on attacking side of that guy that scored while he should be on the defensive side. With seven men behind a long ball, there shouldn't have been enough space for an opposition to utilize. This is what opposition had successfully done against us week in week out.

I also wonder if the tactics was to allow the opposition space to utilize the ball while building with the intention of outnumbering them in our defensive area.

Maybe he instructs his players to wait and try to intercept the ball instead of pressing the opponent.

They still had two or three men in front of Rooney. Colochini passed it left and right without us charging the three of them. So we should actually have more men in midfield.

What I mean is that it made most of their midfielders and forwards to push forward more. Had their defenders given no space, they would have hoofed it and lost the ball, their midfielders would have been denied the ball and they would retract same with their forwards to close the gap. Coloccini was in our half when he made the pass to Mitrovic that led to their 1st goal.

We need two of our defenders back asap and a good RW if we're to make anything out of this season.

Lingard is not average, he needs to work on his strength, he falls way too easily when wrestled for de ball with an opponent.

I saw that too, and it's not the first time. Rooney was always some yards from Newcastle last men when they had the ball making it easier for them to comfortably start a build up, then I wonder if LVG is now too old to read the game. And whether his assistance have any experience.

that was where we lost the game cos it made their defenders to occupy the midfield while their midfielders and forwards overloaded our half. Coloccini was left free to spread passes while Blind that should have done so for us was engaged by their forward. Our lack of a CMF to dictate play also worsened it.

Our forward players gave Newcastle defenders space, especially Colocini, to move the ball while they gave us none. I thought LvG was going to solve that in the 2nd half but he resorted to hoofing to Fellaini.

We use two makeshift defenders when we've 3 taking home free money while on the sick bed

Get in a RW and loan out Lingard, dude is average, while Martial should be on the left or CF. He's less effective on the right.

I should point out that our longest run win streak last season featured fellani in the team.

cos he played upfront and with Young providing the crosses. But today he's asked to dictate play in the midfield or when he's upfront there is no winger to feed him with aerial ball instead the crosses come from the defenders expecting him to do magic with them.

Reason why teams with good dribblers slice through our midfield like a knife through butter. Likely also the reason he keeps Morgan on the bench cos dude likes to chase players. He used two old midfielders that would rather wait than chase the opponent against Arsenal and saw how it fared and yet has learned nothing. The man irritates me.

Haven't you noticed Depay plays better in his 1st 10-20mins? I would be giving him 10-15mins cameo if I were LvG until he gets serious and hard working. I'd bench Mata; most fans here have been asking for a RW so his poor performances have been obvious. The problem is the RW we've, Lingard, is just average and good at wasting chances.

Herrera will perform better when we start playing expansive football cos he more of a box to box midfielder that likes to take risky passes, run into the box and shoot from outside. I believe he was benched cos of his risky style of play, even LvG wouldn't praise him in games he performed excellent or even bench him in the next game and what he does now is to pass it around. When a player can't shoot, make a 5 yard pass or his 1st touch takes the ball 5yards away then, that is beyond the system/tactics.

LvG setup of our attack is the worst I've seen that even with Xavi and Scholes in the midfield, they'd still be passing it around cos of the lack of movement of those upfront. If Martial doesn’t go pass two players then we're not creating any chance. Just put players around him and our attack is dead cos players are told to stick to their positions.

Mr Plato selects his players not based on their performances. He will bench Schneiderlin, Herrera and Young and start Carrick, Fellaini( in the midfield with the job to dictate the play) and Depay. I'm tired of the man seriously.
