I'm not talking of the 2 goals but the laxity of our midfielders. Hererra lacked the discipline and pace that Derlin or Carrick has. Teiger was good earlier on but faded because he can't compete for 90 mins. While Mata was wasteful!!

I expected LvG to bring in Carrick, remove Bastian and Mata but we all know his subs are rarely spot on.

Please do something for me. In our next match, i need you to forget whatever is happening in the game and focus on Mata and see what he's playing. The guy does nothing other than run around with the ball and pass to the closest man. Putting a player in the spotlight is what i do before analysing him, i watch you for 2 to 3 games and make up my mind. Watch Mata, then watch Silva then tell me what you see. Till then i don't want us to drag on it because i see you haven't focused on the guy yet.

No one is saying he has been excellent but he has been the best in a poor attack. Two things that also hamper his performance are him being played on the flank and the lack of movement of the players around him.

A no.10 performs better when players around him make moves which we lack in this Plato's style of play. Reason most times he keeps moving around with the ball cos he sees no movement of players to lay pass to.

Our attackers should sit up.

I agree with everything you said. Mata was useless tonight. Gaal ruined our midfield by not selecting Derlin to cover the laxity of Mata and Teiger.

The team had no problem 2day defensively in the midfield, they actually had no job on that. The two goals were individual errors. Our problem was movement, desire, creativity and conversion of chances.
