you can tell how a match will be with the line-up. van gaal chose the wrong team or chose to play them in a wrong position.

if rafael is fit, carrick should be playing in the midfield. there's no reason to play him at the back & then play an unfit midfielder & a make shift midfielder in the middle. weak midfield, weak defence.

of course, we will struggle!

Carrick should be moved to that midfield if we're to get anything from this game. Villa shuts down our wingback.

Or move to a back four. Remove Fletcher and Val, introduce Rafael and Di maria.
