The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar, has promised to create three million jobs every year if he is elected as president in the 2019 election. This is one of the key points in the policy document released by the PDP flagbearer today (Sunday), which details a seven-year timeline in which he intends to deliver on his campaign promises. Apart from job creation, the document also lists three other areas of priority namely infrastructure development, human capital development and poverty eradication. According to the former Vice President, he has plans to lift 50 million Nigerians out of poverty, by 2025. Furthermore, he stated that he has plans to privatise the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and also sell all four national refineries. Other areas of focus in terms of infrastructure is the construction of 5,000 kilometres of roads, and 5,000 kilometres of modern railway. A statement released on Saturday, by the Atiku Campaign Organisation, had explained that Atiku’s decision to kick-start his presidential campaign with the launch of his policy document was to reiterate his commitment to running an issue-based campaign. It added that the intention was to take their policy directly to Nigerians and to register Atiku’s belief that it would take the collective efforts of every Nigerian to rebuild the country. It read in part, “That is why we want Nigerians to access the policy directly and ultimately take ownership of it,” it said, adding, “Our campaign offers a simple message: United, the people of Nigeria can begin anew, creating a prosperous and secure future and a better life for every Nigerian. “Our policy document focuses on creating jobs, ensuring security, growing business, developing power and water infrastructure, agriculture and education and how we will empower women. “Our policies outline the goals and methods for developing and revitalising Nigeria as the foundation of our campaign. This policy document is being launched to encourage a dialogue with the people of Nigeria, inviting everyone to join us in helping to get Nigeria working again. “The PDP presidential candidate looks forward to conducting vital discussions as he travels across the length and breadth of Nigeria, meeting and talking with stakeholders – farmers, small business people, workers, students, mothers, and children.” https://www.santosnaija.com.ng/2018/11/atiku-releases-policy-document-promise.html?m=1

The Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal, on Friday, reviewed the 14-year jail term that was handed to the former governor of Taraba State, Rev. Jolly Nyame, and reduced it to 10 years. [img][/img] The court however ordered Nyame to pay an aggregate fine of N525million that was not part of the sentence that was imposed on him by a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory which found him guilty on 27 out of the 41-count money laundering charge the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, preferred against him. The appellate court panel, led by Justice Abdul Aboki, dismissed the appeal Nyame filed against his conviction by trial Justice Adebukola Banjoko. Mama Taraba APC in the day, PDP at night Says, Shittu’s case a serious moral burden The All Progressives Congress APC has declared Thursday’s Osun governorship election rerun as “substantially” free, fair and credible, accusing the Peoples Democratic Party PDP of crying foul because they were unable to rig the polls. APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole This was as the party accused the Minister of Women Affairs, Hajia Jumai Alhassan of engaging in anti-party activities, describing her as an APC member in the day and a PDP member at night. National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole stated these at a news conference Friday in Abuja. Oshiomhole also gave reasons why the Communications minister, Adebayo Shittu was disqualified saying his illegal exemption from the mandatory national youth service raises both moral and legal questions. “As for the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, she has issues that have to do with party loyalty. Our constitution is clear and it dictates that to contest elections or even hold office in the APC, you must be loyal to the party in every material concern. From all she had said in the past and even her comments and general attitude during the screening, the NWC reviewed everything taken together and we arrived at the conclusion that she does not possess the level of loyalty that the APC requires for her to contest elections on our platform. We made it clear when the defections happened that APC may well benefit from these defections if it helps us to be more critical in terms of who we give platform to contest elections and that there are core values that binds the APC together and they are non-negotiable. “The Electoral Act and the APC Constitution forbids anyone from being a member of more than one political party at a time. You cannot be a member of APC and be a card-carrying member of another party but when you have a situation where it would appear, based on what you know and based on what I know that someone is probably APC in the daytime maybe for the purpose of retaining certain offices and they are PDP at heart or if they are not PDP at heart, they are actually and simply a follower of a one-man permanent presidential candidate…then we have the right to ask ourselves if these attitudes and qualities are characteristics of an ideal member of an APC. So, those are the reasons. We did not want to have a lengthy explanation to do but she knows why she was disqualified and we know why we denied her the use of our platform”, he said. Hajia Alhassan had last year raises dusts when she declared her support for a PDP presidential aspirant and former vice president, Atiku Abubakar. https://www.santosnaija.com.ng/2018/09/apc-primaries-atiku-cost-mama-taraba.html?m=1 |
Disinclined to continue with his four-year-old marriage, a pastor, Michael Adebowale, has urged an Iseyin Customary Court in Oyo State to dissolve the union, so he can begin to receive anointing from God. “My wife, Ashabi, is a devil,” the middle-aged pastor told the court. Pastor Adebowale informed the court that the marriage contracted four years ago had produced two children. He said: “My wife is evil. I noticed my prayers are not really answered by God like before and I have also noticed that I am now living with a devil. “She will not attend church or join me in prayers; all she specialised in is to gossip around town and go to parties. “I have told her to pack out of my house and she has obeyed me. I want her totally out of my life so that I can begin to receive `anointing’ again from God.” President of the court, Mr. Adelodun Raheem, after listening to the petitioner, ordered that another summons be served on the respondent. He said Ashabi must appear in court at the next adjourned date, October 5. https://www.santosnaija.com.ng/2018/09/i-need-to-divorce-my-wife-to-receive.html?m=1 |

Apart from Mr Galadima, others at the Monday meeting from the PDP include Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, a senator, Dino melaye, and Akwa Ibom State Governor; Emmanuel Udom Some leaders of a faction of Nigeria’s ruling party, APC, on Monday afternoon gathered in Abuja to sign a memorandum with opposition parties for the 2019 general elections. The Reformed APC (R-APC) members were led to the Monday event by their leader Buba Galadima. PREMIUM TIMES last week published how the R-APC announced itself. The faction is believed to have the backing of Senate President Bukola Saraki and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara. The actions of the faction have been condemned by the APC leadership. On Monday, Mr Galadima met with leaders of opposition parties like the PDP and SDP to sign the memorandum of understanding. Apart from Mr Galadima, others at the Monday meeting from the PDP include Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, a senator, Dino melaye, and Akwa Ibom State Governor; Emmanuel Udom. A former senator, Ben Obi, who briefed journalists, said the parties gathered to sign a memorandum for a coalition that will take over power in 2019 and esnure the defeat of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC. He described the 2019 election as a battle between light and darkness, saying the coalition is the light that has come to rescue Nigeria. He said the signing of the memorandum is a signal to the ruling APC and the international community that they are ready to take over power in 2019. National Chairman of Reformed All Progressives Congress, R-APC, a splinter within the ruling APC, Buba Galadima, has lashed out at leadership of the ruling party, describing them as mere servants who are attempting to lock out their landlord. Buba Galadima He spoke, yesterday night in a television programme, Politics Today on Channels Television. He said: “I don’t need to talk much in trying to establish my status as a member of the APC. Those who say so (doubt my membership of the APC) might not know because when we were forming the APC, we didn’t see them. They were nowhere. So, how will they know? Let them go to INEC and check who were the signatories. Buba Galadima was the third signatory in the document that merged the parties. “These people are AGIP — Any Government In Power. We know their antecedents, so we are not surprised that they are saying this.” On whether his faction would leave the APC, he said it was impossible for a landlord to leave his house for his servants. “Go where? You mean that you build a house, roof it, bring in water, light and then once you go out, your servants just lock you out and you want me to clap for them?” he queried. He also dismissed reports that his group is being sponsored by some disenchanted power brokers within the ruling party. He said: “Sponsored like how? I have a stake. What will I use money for? Check my background, I have impeccable integrity, an honest individual, a principled Nigerian per excellence not second to anybody, since 1978 till date. I don’t follow the flowers. I follow the grains and that is where I am. “I am a stakeholder, a foundation member. We formed the APC. We have gone through this road before and people were called names. Do you remember Alhaji Bamanga Tukur of the PDP when such issue occurred? He told the nation that the five governors could go, that it will not affect the fortunes of the party but we know what happened. People should be students of history and nobody can discountennace our contributions, nobody.” Oshiomhole cannot redeem APC He also said the new leadership of the party headed by Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is bereft of ideas as to how to navigate the party through this critical moment. He said: “Let me say that I don’t think Oshiomhole has the wisdom to do what he is supposed to do, having started with the countenance that some people matter and some are inconsequential. “We want to say we matter, we are not inconsequential and the kind of group that I lead today is stronger than what he is supposed to lead because of our number and the right thing must be done because this issue is beyond personalization.” https://www.santosnaija.com.ng/2018/07/we-wont-leave-apc-for-our-servants-r.html?m=1 |
Some of the immediate consequences of the action of Mr. Galadima is that he and his gang (unless those who have disassociated themselves from his Press Release) have committed several criminal infractions as well as given rise to civil injury against the APC which include; Impersonation: Mr. Galadima in his Press Release copiously referred to himself as the substantive Chairman of R-APC a variant of APC whilst he knows full well that there is indeed no such political party in Nigeria. Also, he also suggests that he is the substantive Chairman of APC even though he knows that Com. Adams Oshiomole is indeed the party Chairman and Mr. Galadima never contested for Chairmanship at the just concluded convention of the APC. In the circumstance, Mr. Galadima has committed the offence of Personation as defined and punishable under Section 484 of the Criminal Code and the authorities will be requested to do their work in bringing him to account. Fraudulent Misrepresentation: To the extent that Mr. Galadima continues to perpetuate a falsehood knowing such falsehood of him forming a Political Party overnight and being Chairman either of same party or APC indeed to be untrue yet persists for the purpose of gaining either pecuniary or other benefits, he is guilty of fraudulent misrepresentation. In Ikechukwu Ikpa vs. The State (2018) 4 NWLR Part 1069 Page 175 – 240, the Supreme Court defines Fraudulent Misrepresentation to mean; ‘a false statement that is known to be false or is made recklessly without knowing or caring whether it is true or false and that is intended to induce a party to detrimentally rely on it.’ In this case, Mr. Galadima knowingly made his false statement with the clear intention of deceiving Nigerians to abandon the APC and instead follow him and his gang. Conduct Likely To Breach Public Peace: Without a doubt, the declaration of Mr. Galadima if left unchecked is capable of leading to the public nuisance and a breach of peace across Country. Our loyal members are already agitated by the incendiary action of this group which runs counter to the beliefs, principles and creed of the APC. Breach of Trademark and Infringement of Copy Right: This for us is one of the key points of this address. We trust relevant authorities to deal with the criminal conducts of this group. However as it touches on our brand we are forced to quickly take steps to protect it from being subjected to erosion by the thoughtless actions of this group. As Nigerians are aware, the coinage APC is both a mark and a copy right capable of being protected under the common law principles of passing off as well as under the extant provisions of the Copyright’s Act. Nigerians can only imagine what it would be like if we were to wake up one morning to a bank claiming to the Reformed First Bank Plc or a Construction company claiming to be the Reformed Julius Berger Plc formed by a group of its directors allegedly because they disagree with certain decisions taken at the board meeting! This will be viewed as a blatant assault on the brand for which both civil and criminal recourse can be sought. So is it in this case that APC is a brand owned by its teeming members who have invested the National Executive Committee and other organs of the party with the power to protect this brand from abuse and erosion. We practice a multi-party democratic system and therefore cannot stop Mr. Galadima from forming his own political party if he so desires. However, he will not be allowed to do so using the APC brand. For the infringement so far committed by Mr. Galadima and the odium he has brought upon the APC brand we will be seeking civil redress against his person and that of his group. With respect to the criminal aspect of his conduct, we will be notifying the appropriate authorities to do the needful. Fellow Nigerians, in 2015, we witnessed a seismic event where for the first time in our political history an opposition party defeated an incumbent. We opened our arms to work with all Nigerians because we believe in the inherent goodness of all Nigerians. However, we have had to battle with the manifest desperation of a few overlords who consider every segment of Nigeria their personal property. The government of President Muhammad Buhari and the leadership of our great party are committed to winning the battle for the soul of Nigeria, securing it from further pillaging by these rent seekers and deliver the dividends of democracy to all Nigerians without regards for tribe, religion and social status. This requires us to cleanse our political process of people who have become accustomed to brigandage and being unruly. Politics and leadership are enterprises that should summon the best in us not expose the worst in us. Let those who are in doubt hear this, APC under the current leadership will work with the leadership of President Muhammad Buhari to sanitize our political space and we will start with Mr. Galadima and his group to show that there is no room today for the impunity of old. Babatunde OGALA, Esq National Legal Adviser; All Progressives Congress (APC) https://www.santosnaija.com.ng/2018/07/apc-lays-four-criminal-charges-against.html?m=1 |

The pig that predicted Nigeria to win over her opponent was reported to have said, it requested the FIFA to not allow super eagle's wear that Jersey. "If you can remember vividly, they lost their first match with that same so called "home Jersey", then I raised alarm, but no one cares. It took me three wonderful days of consultations to reverse the backluck associated with that Jersey but to no avail. I had to asked the super eagle's management to talk to FIFA to allow only that White-like V stripped Jersey, but FiFA knowing fully that the win for Nigeria is connected to that Jersey refused to accept the plea". He said. Also speaking the Cat put the blames on the recent killings on the plateau caused Nigeria the exit in the world cup. " we never predicted falsely ever, but after the match, I was meant to understand that luck ran out of Naija when the killer headsmen carried out that deadly attack. You don't allow innocent blood run on your land, it causes backclash, badluck". He declared. Further, the cat stated that the players didn't respond according to the directives that they should wear black armband in solidarity for the killings, that would have averted the exit from world cup. https://www.santosnaija.com.ng/2018/06/nigerian-home-jersey-and-plateau.html?m=1 |
I hang out with a lot of couples. And I write a lot about singleness. Go figure, right? My life, humorous to many, typically brings about a lot of questions. Isn’t it awkward to hang out with couples? How hard is it to be the token single friend? How much does it suck going to weddings alone? And what’s it like to watch all your friends get married? What is it like? How does it feel? Allow me to let you in on the biggest secret of Krysantus's Wedding Season 2022--2030: it’s normal. I don’t know how else to describe it, because it’s just my life. It’s all I know, really. It just happens to be where God has me right now. I’m pretty sick of society telling me over and over again that I’m supposed to hate it, and I’m getting pretty tired of having to explain to people that I actually don’t detest my current reality. At its very best, it’s incredibly wonderful. I’m happy for my friends because they have found the person that makes them come alive, pushes them to be a better person, and points them back to Jesus. My friends have navigated the hard conversations, put in the effort, and have now found someone to promise themselves to forever. That’s exciting! That’s wonderful! I get to be a part of this treasured season, and I get to celebrate with them on one of the most special days of their lives. That’s great. That’s an honor. That’s to be cherished—no matter what my relationship status is. At its very worst, it’s incredibly unsettling. My friends have found their other half and I’m not sure where I fit in the equation. Their lives are now characterized by compromise, communication, and putting another person before themselves—whereas I’m in the season of life where I get to be selfish, focus on my needs, and go wherever God leads. While they can be the most important people in my life, I know I’ll never be the most important one in theirs. At the end of the day, they go home to their best friend; I go home alone. They’ve found someone and I . . . haven’t. Typically, however, it’s right in the middle. It’s incredibly confusing. Sometimes I see my married friends’ relationship dynamics and I am so grateful I am single; sometimes I see their relationship dynamics and I really wish I am not. I don’t understand why God brought someone special into their lives and has yet to do so in mine. At times I feel loved and secure in my friendships; other times, I feel constantly put on the back burner, constantly forgotten about. I am loved in my singleness, and yet I am constantly set up, introduced, and nudged to be not single. I try hard to care about marriage problems and empathize with things I know nothing about, but my single problems and issues can feel brushed aside. That girl texting me? Never mind that, what about her husband? I don’t feel lesser, I don’t feel unloved, and I definitely don’t feel like something is wrong with me. But watching all your friends get married while you remain single is like watching all your friends graduate college when you never had the chance to go. Are you any less intelligent? Are you automatically lesser? No. And yet . . . it can feel a bit like that at times. When you’re all the same age and yet in very different life stages, it’s easy to feel a bit left behind. I’m now recovering from wedding season busy-ness, while my friends are recovering from their honeymoon. As I’m falling back into old routines and familiar patterns, they are trying to create new rhythms and seeking new routines with their new spouse. Like getting rejected from your dream school and having to watch friends live the life you expected, I see my friends living out a life stage everyone assumed I would be in by now. It’s like having a lifelong conversation about a place everyone in the room has traveled to, except you. Everyone has had this experience and seen these places, and you’ve only heard about them. Although you’ve also traveled and know things about traveling, and although you’ve had so many conversations about traveling to this place, you can’t really join the conversation. You can’t talk of your experiences there. You haven’t even been given a visa yet. You can try all you want and give all your advice, but some people will never take your word, simply because you haven’t seen it. You haven’t experienced it. You haven’t been there. Sometimes, all you want to do is to talk about something other than traveling. Something you all have in common. But marriage seems to affect everything—everything! Where can you go that feels safe, neutral? Sometimes, it seems, nowhere. I know it’s not quite the same—but when I moved back to Jalingo, Taraba state after living in Jos, Plateau, Nigeria I felt like no one understood, exactly, what I was going through. After spending sometimes away from family, friends, and my norm, I suddenly found myself home and smack dab in the middle of “normal”—except it now felt foreign. All my friends were wonderful and well intentioned, but no one knew. And did I push them away and claim we couldn’t be friends because we had different life experiences? Did I shut them out and try to find new friends who might understand me better? Did I give up on our friendships because we were at different places in life? Of course not. I try, over and over again, to emphasize that my friends are my friends—single, married, male, female, whatever. I believe God brings people into our lives to shape us and grow us—not to be exactly like us. I’m beyond blessed that the majority of my friends have married wonderful, wonderful people who have since become my friends. I understand this isn’t always the case, and I get that it’s hard when someone you’re close to marries someone you aren’t—and probably will never be—close to. I’m part of a group of five—my two best friends and their wifes—whom I hang out with all the time. All the time. People always ask me, in hushed tones, about how hard that must be for me. How is it, really, constantly hanging out with two couples? Answer: It’s the best. Because it’s never my friends and their wives; it’s my four friends. It’s not Krysantus the Single and Them the Couple; it’s a group of friends committed to each other, despite any differences. It’s not uncomfortable, awkward third wheeling, because we’re all equally present and all equally cherished. Why should my friends’ marital status—or mine—determine how much I love, care for, or invest in them? Some days, I don’t even notice it. We sit on the couch and we all catch up and we all make fun of each other. We all love each other so much and we all know each other so well—it isn’t Krysantus and two couples, it isn’t us and him, it’s a group of friends. It’s my team. We get up to say our goodbyes and it’s two by two by . . . oh, just one. Just me. Other days, it’s all I notice. I sit on the couch and hear talk about weddings and couples and grocery shopping together—things I don’t quite have a voice in. It’s hand holding and discussing communication patterns and laughing about fights we’ve had . . . uh, they’ve had, and it’s marriage talk. I’m thankful to be a part of it; I’m glad I’m given this insight, and I’m grateful my friends love me enough to give me the real-life, front-seat version of their happily ever after. But then we part ways and I get home alone and get in bed alone and I can’t help but think, they aren’t doing any of these things alone . . . I don’t know how long this will be my life. How many more weddings will I go to before it’s my wedding? How many more proposals will I help plan before a girl gets me down, Will that ever happen? I don’t know. It can be easy to assume I missed some train, that singleness will forever be my norm. It can be easy to assume—in a culture so obsessed with relationships—that somehow God forgot about me and my happiness. It can be easy to believe a whole host of unhelpful, untruthful lies about singlehood. But luckily there are a few things I know to be true. I know that God is bigger than my relationship status, my friendships, and my life stage. I know that God is bigger than my relationship status, my friendships, and my life stage. I know that I serve a God who cares deeply about my happiness and about my growth. I trust Him with His timing, His promises, and His omnipotence—even when I don’t understand it. I also know there are far worse things than being the single friend among marrieds. There are worse things than feeling like the odd one out. And this is: Not having these people in my life. Losing these cherished relationships. Choosing to focus on our differences and therefore pushing away our similarities—all these would be so much more painful, so much more disheartening, so much more unsettling than dancing solo at all these weddings. Even during the slow songs. By: Krysantus Michael http://www.santosnaija.com.ng/2018/05/reasons-why-watching-all-your-friends.html?m=1 |

test tube babies...... hope for mankind |
they had
patented a method to create sperm using stem cells
harvested from infertile men - though they do not
know if the lab-fabricated seed actually works.
The team hailed their technique as a step towards
solving male infertility, but admitted it would take
several years before the "quality" of the sperm will be
confirmed. It involved recreating, outside the human body, the
fluid in which seminiferous tubules - the tiny
structures where sperm cells are formed in the male
testes - can survive. The sperm are "morphologically normal" (normal-
looking), the researchers said. It is not known
whether the tiny cells are up to the job of creating
babies. The next step, the team said, is to try and give life to
rats with rat sperm created using the method.
"We must see if the baby rats are normal, whether
they are able to reproduce," project member Philippe
Durand told journalists in Lyon. |
