You quoted rightly,but interpreted wrongly.Catholics don't worship mary or idols, take it or live it.But be sure not to condemn ur self by ignorance.Why do Yoruba tribe,prostulate or lie down to elders;is it a worship?why do Igbo tribe bow down wen they greet elders, so many other forms of reverence or respect by other tribes.Better still,why do u wear,ur pastors pictures,shirts containg their pics,or even their handkachieves and other aticles they give you.Do u worship all these items?I chose to respond to u to avoid scandalising others.We have 3 types of veneration in Catholic church.1.Veneration to saints, 2.Veneration to Angles 3.Veneration to God. 1 &2 are acts of respects or reverence and not worship!No 3 is an act of worship.Put ur sentiments on the interpretation of the scriptures right or wen next u prostrate a yoruba elder,u ve worship him! Images are used for spiritual reflections.We have not seen God,but we believe that man is made in God's image after his likeness as the scripture told us.Christ came to the world,lived among men likewise other religious faithfuls.Are u still douting that people that saw him,did not know wat he look like?Tell me that if u live a puis life in ur lifetime and God chose to honour u,that after 2000yrs to come,just like virgin mary,ur looks will disappear!Just have faith in God,Many people may miss heaven because they
