Car TalkFable Or Fact? What You Think Of Alloy Wheels May Not Be True! by Chrisodogwu(op): 11:02am On Mar 26, 2019
One of the fascinating accessories you can have in your car is the allow wheel. It gives your car that compelling look that makes people take a glance at it whenever you drive by. However, there are lots of misconceptions about this allow wheel that will shock you. That is why Naijauto has decided to separate what are true about alloy wheels from what are very untrue here in Nigeria.

1. Myths about alloy wheels that are untrue
Alloy wheels increase the speed of a car
One shocking perception of some people is that having bought alloy wheels, your car starts running faster than before. Because of this rumor, some people start rushing to get one for their car and get so disappointed when they realize the truth. Please erode this from your mind.

Alloy wheel is cable of preventing mishap
This is another popular myth about alloy wheel. When people believe that buying or having an alloy wheel in your car will act as iron man when you encounter accident or shield your car from any form of road mishap. Regardless of whether you have alloy wheel or not, if you drive recklessly, you are seriously putting your life at serious jeopardy. The only thing we are certain of is that it might help you avoid flipping as a result of running over a bump at topmost speed. However, this also relies heavily on the driving skill of the person behind the wheel.

Alloy wheels increase the lifespan of your car tyre
Some people believe that when you buy alloy wheel, you are adding years to the longevity of their car tyres. That is a very big NO! The durability of your car tyre depends on your maintenance culture and the kind of terrain you mostly drive your car on. It also depends on how you drive, how long and the number of times you drive on a daily basis.

2. Facts about alloy wheels
Alloy wheels make your car looks beautiful and elegant
This is very true about alloy wheels. When you install this on your car, it gives class and touch of elegance. Hardly will you will drive by that people will not give your car a silent compliment. There are some alloy wheels that you will buy that will give your car that bestie look.

Alloy wheels are very durable
When you are stuck whether to get an alloy wheel or iron wheel, we believe going for alloy wheel is a smart move. Alloy wheels last longer than the regular iron wheels you see on many cars. In fact, alloy wheels can last on the average for a mouthwatering fifteen years. That is why you should put that on your budget depending on the type of alloy wheel you are going for.

Alloy wheels lift your car from the floor
This is why we always recommend Nigerian drivers to go for alloy wheels especially putting the state of most roads in Nigeria at the back of the mind. When you fix an alloy wheel to your car, it lifts your car off the floor by a meter. You will drive over pot holes and rough road like a pro.

Alloy wheels are costly
Although many Nigerians might not like this considering their tight budget, but to get the best, you have to spend. Indeed, you might need to change your set of tyres in case the size of your newly purchased alloy wheels does not fit with your tyre size. You can avoid this extra cost buy selling your tyres to anyone who needs that particular size.

Who else thinks a V10 or V12 sound better than a V8 engine?

Sound qualities are usually dependent on the frequency of the sound where high-frequency sounds are thinner in quality, and low-frequency sounds are thicker and fuller in quality. This explains to some extent why a V8 engine sounds better. However, let’ take a look at this with a deeper focus and see why this is so. Naijauto gives you this qualitative comparison of the sound of V8 vs v10 and v12 engines.

Bore size for the V8 cylinder - the bigger the better!
For an engine to sound very wholesome it has to be able to displace more fuel volume, the more the fuel displaced, the fuller and well rounded the sound is. It is a well-known fact that the cylinders of a V10 and V12 engines are more in number – just stating the obvious, but also of a fact is the bigger cylinders that are present in a V8 engine.

The cylinders in a V8 engine have more diameter individual than in the V10 and V12 engines. It therefore means that more fuel is available for displacement in a V8 engine, giving it a richer and better sound than that of V10 and V12. This explains why the V8 engine with its two banks of 4 cylinders as compared the two banks of 5 and 6 cylinders in the V10 and V12 respectively, sounds better.

The pistons' influence - sound effects ranges!
The pistons in a V8 engine are also designed to be bigger with a larger intake and exhaust valve commensurate with the size of bore in its cylinders. The pistons in the V10 and V12 engine on the other hand are designed to be smaller.

This is in order to ensure that the pistons are lighter and to produce higher revolutions per minute (RPM), which in turn translates to more power, giving the engine a boost to run faster. A higher RPM though does not translate to more displacement per revolution which means the sound of a V12 or a V10 engine will stand a chance of winning the sounding battle with a V8 engine.

Length of stroke – longer is better!
For a V10 or a V12 engine, they are designed to operate on shorter stroke movements with their small piston, while with a v8 engine, the pistons moved on a longer stroke movement with its larger pistons.

The shorter stroke movements in the V10 and V12 engines allow for a higher frequency in the engines and as a result produce a higher frequency sound which is not as good as that of a V8 that is deeper and wholesome.

Wrapping up V8 vs V10 and V12 engines
The factors mentioned above by Naijauto are the reasons why a V8 engine sounds better than a V10 or V12 despite its fewer numbers of cylinders. Though the V8 is seen more on the streets and even on Nigerian roads than the V10 and the V12 engine cars, is good to let V8 users know that they have a better deal in terms of engine sound. So if you are a V8 engine owner, know that you are not missing anything engine sound-wise.

Car TalkWhy Are Spare Tires Usually Smaller Than Normal Tires? by Chrisodogwu(op): 9:56am On Feb 11, 2019
The spare tires on most of current car models are usually smaller than normal tires. However, there are also some spare tires that look exactly identical to the normal tires.
Spare tires are indispensable accessories in almost any car, because they can ensure the vehicle’s uninterrupted operation in the case of tire malfunction. With the development of mechanical engineering and the increasing diversification of car types and models, the spare tires are also changing in terms of styles, quality and sizes.
https://file.naijauto.com/2018/06/07/GzSDFYgt/donut-lead-copy-284e.jpg
Most small-to-mid-sized cars in the world are equipped with spare tires smaller than normal tires

According to the Edmunds Automobile News, in the past, the spare tire is exactly identical to normal tires. However, from 2007 to 2014, the proportion of cars with a full-size spare tire decreased by 49%. In 2014, most small-to-mid-sized cars in the world are equipped with spare tires smaller than normal tires.

Why do spare tires usually smaller than normal tires?
Technical experts from Yourmechanic give some reasons to explain this size difference:

- The smaller size of the spare tire helps to save some space in the luggage compartment.
- Lighter weight helps to reduce vehicle weight and maximize fuel economy.
- Lighter weight also makes it easy to lift, move or replace the spare tire when needed.
- Producing a smaller, lighter spare tire is cheaper than a normal tire, which saves on production costs and helps to reduce the price of the car.
- Lighter tires usually have lower traction, which reduces the maximum operational speed of the vehicle. This reminds the driver to take their car to maintenance and replace the spare tire as soon as possible so that they can drive the car normally. If the spare tire is identical to normal tires and the vehicle can run at normal speed already, the driver might not feel the need to go to maintenance and take tire pressure test and make adjustments accordingly. Failure to do this in a long time after changing the spare tire can make other normal tires wear out faster.
https://file.naijauto.com/2018/06/07/GzSDFYgt/change-tire-copy-2f92.jpg
f the spare tire is identical to normal tires and the vehicle can run at normal speed already, the driver might not feel the need to go to maintenance

Which cars have normal-sized spare tires?
Of course, there are still many manufacturers which provide normal sized spare tires. There are also two categories of normal sized spare tires. The first one is exactly identical to a normal tire in terms of size and quality. This type of spare tire is usually equipped on heavy-duty and long-distance vehicles such as trucks, pickup trucks or full-sized SUVs. The second category has only the same size but has several technical attributes reduced, such as shallower and unhardened treads. These tires are often seen on large vehicles which mainly operate on urban roads and within shorter distances such as crossovers and minivans.

Do you really need a spare tire?
If you are already familiar with cars that have spare tires of various sizes and quality, it can be surprising to know there are cars that do not need spare tires. These modern vehicles are equipped with run-flat tires, which can resist deflation from a puncture and allow the vehicle to move up to 100 kilometers at high speed even after the incident. Pretty insane, right?

Car TalkFuel Tank Capacity And Things Every Motorist Should Know by Chrisodogwu(op): 7:41am On Jan 18, 2019
When the fuel is about to be used up, the fuel light is on to remind us to replenish the fuel. Some may be in no hurry to refill and drive a few more miles while others choose to head for the nearest filling station immediately. In the article today, we will find out the best time to fill up your car without potential damages.

Background knowledge of a car’s fuel tank capacity
The fuel tank belongs to a part of the power system which consists of the flammable material such as oil. An average compact car can bear from 45 to 65 liters. The size of the tank varies among different body types, for instance, trucks and SUVs are equipped with larger tanks while Nano cars getting smaller ones.
https://file.naijauto.com/2018/04/18/u0GUC7wC/fuel-tank-capacity-a-5669.png
An average compact car can bear from 45 to 65 liters

Some cars including long-distance cars and older models even come with an additional tank called reserve tank which contains as much as 15% of the capacity of the main tank.
Auto brands share the same ways to inform us of the fuel capacity, which is a line written on the cap of the fuel tank. Modern vehicles are designed with improvements which combine the reserve tanks with the primary one thanks to a signal turning the fuel light when the vehicle is running out of fuel.

Can we overfill our gas capacity?
Every gas tank is made bigger than the manufacturer-stated fuel capacity to make room for air at the top, which prevents vapor locking. Besides, fuel neck and inlet pipe are spare space which can carry 10 to 15 liters.

My advice is don’t consider it as a chance for you to fill more gas. You should be careful with overfilling because it will take up the necessary space for the air. Therefore, when getting warm, the oil which has no space to expand will exert pressure on the tank, then potentially damage the engine.

Video: Why Not to Overfill (Top Up) Your Car's Gas Tank

How far can you go when the fuel light turns on?
Already knowing your car’s fuel tank capacity, you should know what is the distance the car can survive when the fuel light turns red. Remember that the signal is just to inform us the fuel is now at the reserve level, which means you have 15% fuel tank capacity left in the chamber. Still, it is not recommended to risk emptying your tank because the sediment may spread into the system, which may lead to possible damage to the engine parts since more friction and overheat happens inside the engine when the fuel level gets low.

Its windows can also automatically close to protect the statesman from chemical attack while the gearbox serves as either a generator or an electric engine. Most surprisingly, with 15-mm armour shield over a 7m-long body, the car is not much heavier than a normal auto. It can even act as a submarine to keep its owner alive under the water.

This limousine employs a 4.4L twin-turbo V8 engine developed by Porsche. Before that, all previous Russian President cars had used Mercedes-developed ones since 1994.

Car Talk5 Most Common Problems From A Clogged Air Filter by Chrisodogwu(op): 5:29am On Jan 12, 2019
The air filter's role in a vehicle is to let fresh air flow all the way through the system to mainly help with the burning process, without letting debris and dust inside. The stream of air will be mixed with the fuel to produce an air-fuel mixture which will be burnt to produce force for the car to move forward. Too much air is unnecessary since the amount of fuel pumped in is fixed. Conversely, if there isn't enough air inside, the air to fuel ratio will be imperfect and the outcome of the combustion process will be less then ideal.

Even though this device can be easily replaced or cleaned, most people still forget to take care of it periodically. The manufacturer's recommended number is 12, you should replace it in either 12 thousand miles or 12 months. This number can changes, depending on the environment of where you live. As a rule of thumb, you should take your car to an auto service more frequently if your area is crowded and packed with industrial sites, and vice versa. Since this device is made of layers of hardened papers, the cost of replacement is relatively low. You can still wash it if you want to.

Below are some signs of a troubled air filter and it can vary from vehicle to vehicle. Your vehicle can have one or all of the following symptoms.

1. Black exhaust fume
The exhaust fume turning black translates to too much fuel in the air-fuel mixture ratio. When this happened, the excessive amount of fuel will be partly burned, thus producing this color. In other words, there's less air than usual in the mixture, meaning your filter might be clogged.
https://file.naijauto.com/2018/08/07/UEv3ysze/airfilterava1-1867.jpg
If this has happened to your car, there may be too much oil in the burning chamber

2. Harsh Engine sound
When the engine cranks harshly and produces an unusual sound, the reason might lie in the spark plug. This can be traced back to, again, a clogged air filter. The aforementioned black exhaust fume could leave a trace of carbon soot on the spark plug that prevents it from firing properly.

3. Gunshot sound from the exhaust pipe
If there's a banging sound when you rev the engine, the reason might be the fuel-air mixture again. Rich content of fuel in the mixture sometimes cause explosions, not combustion. The combustions inside the engine should be minor and more gentle.

4. A decline in fuel economy
It's only common sense when your car burns the same amount of fuel but travel less distance (excessive fuel burnt doesn't convert into energy), the fuel economy will consequently decrease.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lkX8aOuGSg
Clean Air Filter increase mileage and performance

5. Oily smell emitting from the exhaust pipe
Sometimes you can smell a hint of oil smells when starting the car, and that's fine. But when you have traveled for some minutes, you stepped out of the car and detect a sharp smell of gas, your air filter might be the problem here. Excessive fuel resulted from a clogged filter that's not burnt completely will leave a trace of oily smell around the exhaust pipe.
https://file.naijauto.com/2018/08/07/UEv3ysze/airfilterava2-3cf6.jpg
In this case, the excessive oil cannot be burn completely and trickle down through the pipe to the road
When you see all or one of the above signs, our recommendation is to always change the filter because you could never clean the filter thoroughly and besides, it's so cheap it's not worth the effort of learning.

Car Talk7 Obvious Symptoms To Know A Damaged Fuel Injector by Chrisodogwu(op): 8:49am On Jan 11, 2019
Inside most of the cars’ fuel system, there is something called the fuel injector. This component's functions to provide fuel for the car engine. The injector basically injects the fuel into the engine’s cylinder via a nozzle, starting the internal combustion process.

Like other important parts of the engine, the injectors are managed by a computer dubbed the Engine Control Unit (ECU). The ECU ensures fuel injection at the right intervals so that the engine can deliver the best possible performance.

And to achieve that possibility, the injectors should be in a good condition to guarantee the engine’s operation. If there is a problem with the fuel injector, the engine will not perform its functions as it should do. A bad fuel injector will prevent the fuel from injecting it into the engine or will mess up the intervals it is supposed to spray. Either way, it will make your car engine fail to start.

But how do we know our car’s injectors are well-functioning or not? Keep calm, Naijauto shall share 7 visible symptoms to realize a bad fuel injector.

1. Fuel leak
If you see the gasoline is leaked out of the injector's body, it could be a definite sign of a broken or damaged injector. As the injector is cracked, the fuel can’t reach the nozzle and then, it will be leaked out. So if you see this symptom, check your car’s fuel injector and replace a new one.
https://file.naijauto.com/2017/12/18/SPwLa8M2/fuel-injector3-0c5a.jpg
If you see the gasoline is leaked out of the injector's body, it could be a definite sign of a broken or damaged injector

2. Bad fuel economy
If the engine does not receive enough fuel that it needs for combustion, it will put additional demands on the injector to provide more fuel. This could be caused by a damaged injector as it can’t supply enough fuel for the motor. As such, your fuel economy will decrease and you are going to pay extra money for gas.

3. Engine surge
If the cylinder is sprayed with too much fuel, it will lead to a surge in the engine and significantly slower your acceleration.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDJoKIoSd-w
Fuel injector test - bad fuel injector symptoms

4. Fuel Odor
If the fuel injector is not absolutely closed, the fuel can't get burned and gives off an odor that can be easily smelled.

5. Engine light turns on
The most visible sign of this problem is when the "Check Engine" lights up on your dashboard. Although this may led by different reasons a damaged fuel injector might be one of them.

6. Engine Misfires
If there is not enough fuel sprayed into the engine, it will repeatedly misfire when you try to start it up. Or even when it is able to start, it is hard to take off or take pauses after you step on the gas pedal. And running for a long distance seems to be impossible.
https://file.naijauto.com/2017/12/18/SPwLa8M2/fuel-injector1-fcc7.jpg
If there is not enough fuel sprayed into the engine, it will repeatedly misfire when you try to start it up

7. Engine vibrates
When there is not enough fuel sprayed into the cylinder, the engine will cause vibration after it completes each cycle without fuel.
Fuel injector will have a longer lifespan than average if you take appropriate maintenance. According to car experts, the fuel injector should be cleaned every 30,000 miles. If not, it could be clogged and can’t deliver the fuel to the cylinder. That said, the injectors will get worn over time and show the same symptoms as a clogged one does. Once you know your injection is bad, you will have to spent around N100,000 for a replacement.

AutosMost Important Rules To Know When Driving At High Speed by Chrisodogwu(op): 8:20am On Jan 11, 2019
1. Hold the steering wheel with both hands at 9h and 3h positions
Drivers should keep their hands at 9h and 3h on the steering wheel to ensure safety when driving at high speed. Placing both hands at the most comfortable positions on the wheel allows the driver to handle situations on the road correctly and with little force.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uc7VAKD_0FA
How To Hold Steering Wheel Clock 9 & 3 Instead of 10 & 2
Experienced drivers are most likely familiar with this rule when handling the steering wheel, but not everyone takes it seriously. In fact, keeping the hands at the right places will help you react and handle situations more quickly and precisely, which minimizes the chance of collisions when driving at high speed.

2. Do not play music too loud
https://file.naijauto.com/2018/03/02/GzSDFYgt/black-music-copy-b699.jpg
Listening to music with a volume of 95 decibels or above will reduce the driver's reflex by as much as 20 percent

According to a report from a Canadian university, listening to music with a volume of 95 decibels or above will reduce the driver's reflex by as much as 20 percent. In addition, the loud music will make the engine sounds hard to hear, increasing the difficulties for drivers to control the speed of their vehicles.

3. Adjust the seat correctly and comfortably
Only when sitting at a stable and comfortable position can you focus on driving the car. When you sit too far from the steering wheel, your hands have to reach far to hold it and cannot be relaxed. Relaxed hands can help you react faster to obstacles and is especially important when driving at high speed. Additionally, sitting too far from the windshield narrows the driver’s vision and increases the risk when driving fast.

On the other hand, sitting too close to the wheel also makes your hands uncomfortable and increases pressure on your foot, making it difficult to control the car’s speed precisely. Therefore, it is very important to adjust the driver’s seat to the most comfortable position before starting to drive, so that you can react faster and more accurate to on-road situations.

4. Expand your vision
https://file.naijauto.com/2018/03/02/GzSDFYgt/laixeotocdocao-banxe-a33d.jpg
Expand your vision to the sides and behind your vehicle using wing mirrors help you recognize unexpected situations and have enough time to handle
Do not just look at the road ahead of you, and instead, expand your vision to the sides and behind your vehicle using wing mirrors. This could help you recognize unexpected situations and have enough time to handle.

5. Do not let the car drift
Letting a vehicle drift with its momentum is perfectly okay when driving slow in the city, but is extremely dangerous when running at high speed, because there would be a high chance of slipping even in dry and clear roads if you did so. You should only adjust the acceleration pedal and use the brake to slow down the car so that you do not lose balance and control.

Car TalkTop 8 Common Car Facts That Are Actually Not True by Chrisodogwu(op): 3:19am On Dec 29, 2018
In this article, Naijauto.com has compiled a list of 8 common car facts that are actually not true. To be honest, we don’t know why those things have been regarding as “facts” for years in auto world. Some might be true several years ago but for now, they’re already passé. Others, in the meantime, are subreptions. Let’s find out.

Car fact #1. Premium fuel is better for your car.
https://file.naijauto.com/2018/02/26/gf7sN3IA/premium-fuel-1a93.jpg
Premium fuel is not of the essence with regular cars
It is necessary to clarify that premium fuel is not of the essence with regular cars. It’s not cleaner or purer, but rather less combustible. In fact, a less combustible fuel is for high-performance vehicles to prevent the engine from knocking. If you fill your performance car with regular gas, you accidentally do serious harm to the engine and cut power, but if your car is a regular one, premium fuel is no better than the one recommended by the owner's manual.

Car fact #2. Changing oil every 3,000 miles is essential.
This adage is absolutely outdated. Nowadays, most vehicles can go as far as 7,500 – 10,000 miles without an oil change. Mind you, it’s better to follow the carmaker’s recommendation to keep your car in pristine condition.
https://file.naijauto.com/2018/02/26/gf7sN3IA/change-oil-38ec.jpg
Nowadays, most vehicles can go as far as 7,500 – 10,000 miles without an oil change
Car fact #3. You should not use engine oil that’s turned black
https://file.naijauto.com/2018/02/26/gf7sN3IA/black-oil-e607.jpg
Your engine oil turning black is just a sign of the oil’s operation
Presently, detergent-dispersant additives are added to engine oils to remove carbon deposits then keeping engine internal parts clean as well as maintaining them in innocuous suspension in the fluid. Thus, your engine oil turning black is just a sign of the oil’s operation. In truth, having carbon deposits in the oil to be drained off is better than depositing them in the engine.

Car fact #4. Hiding behind a vehicle will save you from gunfire.
Do not be completely convinced of Hollywood films. Despite the fact that some bullets is sometimes not powerful enough to cut through steel in old vehicles, we’re unsure what will happen to newer ones. The engine block area is actually a protective cover, yet it’s still a hit and miss. So, be cautious!
https://file.naijauto.com/2018/02/26/gf7sN3IA/hiding-ba6a.jpg
The engine block area is actually a protective cover, yet it’s still a hit and miss

Car fact #5. Bullets can make your fuel tank explode.
Hollywood and Nollywood films once again show us that a bullet hitting the car’s gas tank might set off an almighty explosion.
However, it’s is something of an overstatement. There is no ignition in the tank, so how can it explode?
https://file.naijauto.com/2018/02/26/gf7sN3IA/car-explosion-9e7d.jpg
There is no ignition in the tank, so how can it explode?

Car fact #6. Using A/C is better for fuel economy than letting the windows down.
It is horribly wrong. By contrast, a study carried out by GM and SAE figures out that turning the A/C consumes more fuel than leaving the window open. That said, opening the windows may cause the aerodynamic drag and the engine has to work harder. All things considered, it’s advisable to use the A/C while driving in order to keep yourself alert and more comfy.
https://file.naijauto.com/2018/02/26/gf7sN3IA/open-window-31f2.jpg
Opening the windows may cause the aerodynamic drag since the engine has to work harder

Car fact #7. Warming up your car for several minutes before driving is required.
https://file.naijauto.com/2018/02/26/gf7sN3IA/temperature-guage-3c7b.jpg
Currently, it just takes around 30 seconds to warm up your car
Warming up the engine is essential to make the heat turn on sooner, reduce emissions and cut down your fuel costs as well. Nevertheless, spending up to several minutes on this job is only needful if you own a car with a carburetor, but it has disappeared since the introduction of electronic fuel injection in 1980s. Currently, it takes just around 30 seconds to warm up your car.

Car fact #8. Old cars are safer than new cars
https://file.naijauto.com/2018/02/26/gf7sN3IA/airbags-0778.jpg
Key safety features like seat belts and airbags are fully set up in new models
Car fact #4 somewhat tells you that old cars are more protective than new ones. That’s right as their steel frames are more solid to resist impacts than modern vehicles’ economy boxes. However, at the present, cars have been engineered with “crumple zones” that better handle impacts. Beyond that, key safety features like seat belts and airbags, which are absent from classic machines, are fully set up in new models.

Car TalkThings You Should Know About The Shift Lock Release And How To Use It by Chrisodogwu(op): 10:03am On Dec 28, 2018
It is a common knowledge that there are two types of transmission: automatic and manual. While both have a clutch to shift the gear, the manual cars don't have the shift lock release like their automatic counterparts.

What you should know about the Shift Lock Release
On automatic cars, there is no need to manually shift the gears. The gear shift on this type of cars is used for switching among driving modes including neutral, parking, reverse, etc. And to shift between those modes, you need the shift lock release options.
https://file.naijauto.com/2018/05/29/u0GUC7wC/shift-lock02-a0d7.png
To shift between driving modes, you need the shift lock release options
This shift is actually a button found on the lever. It allows the driver to pick an option, parking for example, then he/she can lock it until picking another one. That means if the driver doesn’t release the shift lock, he/she is not able to move the lever.
How should you handle the Shift Lock Release
When the driver presses the shift lock button, the lock will be released, so he/she is free to switch between options. When he/she has already chosen one, he/she should press the button again so that the lever is locked on the setting.
https://file.naijauto.com/2018/05/29/u0GUC7wC/shift-lock03-8da1.png

This is also considered to be a safety function which is there to help move the vehicle in case that gear shift doesn’t work. Bear in mind these 9 steps to use the shift lock release in case the gear shift isn’t working:

Step #1: Put on the parking brake.
Step #2: Take the key out of the ignition.
Step #3: Lift the shift lock’s cap off (with a screwdriver - recommended). It’s located at the upper right of the gear shift.
Step #4: Once the cover is off, put the key into the hole.
Step #5: Gently apply a force down with the key. At the same time, pull on the button in front of the gear shift. By doing this, you deactivate the parking.
Step #6: Take the key out.
Step #7: Lid on the cover like before.
Step #8: Put back the key into the ignition, then apply the brake pedal.
Step #9: Start the engine.

Car Talk4 Signs To Show That Your Car Is Dying Soon by Chrisodogwu(op): 9:52am On Dec 28, 2018
If you notice the following signs, then all car maintenance attempts don't work any longer. It is probably best that you bring your car to the wrecking yard right away.

1. The check engine light is constantly on
https://file.naijauto.com/2017/12/04/jAVVbi5R/car-is-dying-soon-1ebd.jpg
Your check engine light being on all the time is one of the most obvious warning signs
Many experienced car experts reveal that when your car’s check engine light is constantly on, it means you need to get your car to the service station asap. As a part of your onboard diagnostics system, the check engine light popping out and flashing continuously is, in most cases, an indication of a state of emergency. The car engine might malfunction soon, and when it does, then you know the rest of the story.

2. Your car is always out of engine oil
https://file.naijauto.com/2017/12/04/jAVVbi5R/2-car-is-dying-soon-e254.jpg
You just had an engine oil change and now it’s out of oil again
The engine oil has one simple job - to lubricate the car engine. If you find your car constantly out of oil, do a quick inspection: if you detect any oil leakage to the exhaust pipe or off to the road, you should take your car on a trip to the mechanic before it’s too late. However, if you haven’t had an oil change for about 5 years or so, and the excess oil has accumulated and spilled into other parts in the surrounding area, then there’s probably no longer any cure for your car.

3. You notice toxic smoke and strange smell
https://file.naijauto.com/2017/12/04/jAVVbi5R/3-car-is-dying-soon-dc7a.jpg
Your car is discharging toxic smoke and odd smell
Many people believe that smoke discharge from the car is completely normal. However, when there are thick clouds of smoke that have strange colors and odors coming out of your car tailpipe, this is when you should get very worried.

Blue smoke: Your car exhausting blue smoke means that the vehicle is burning too much oil. Blue smoke might appear when you start the car or accelerate. What you need to do in this case is to replace, or have someone replace, the head gaskets on your car’s pistons.

White thick smoke: This is almost certainly a sign of an engine malfunction - it’s either a cracked engine block, a damaged cylinder head, or a blown head gasket. When seeing this sign, you need to quickly bring the car to the repair center to avoid complete damage to the engine. White smoke from the exhaust also indicates that the car’s gearbox oil or coolant is being burnt instead of the fuel, which can lead to jams when shifting gears.

Black smoke: Black smoke is also a rather dangerous sign, and the darker the smoke, the more serious of a trouble you’re having. When your car flushes out black smoke, it’s an indication that your car engine is flooded with gasoline. Another common cause is that your car is burning too much fuel, in which case you should adjust the carburetor or the electronic fuel injection system.

4. Your gearbox is not functioning properly
https://file.naijauto.com/2018/08/06/GzSDFYgt/fig1frost-copy-9385.jpg
You might notice something is really off about your gearbox
Transmission slipping is when your car suddenly shifts gears on its own while you’re driving. You might notice other signs of problem with the gearbox such as the jumping or grinding of the transmission during acceleration. This is a very dangerous situation, as it can cause the driver to lose control over the steering wheel. Needless to say, a trip to the mechanic should be first on your to-do list in this case.

Gerard Pique, the Spanish defender playing for Barcelona, just got a fine which goes along with a ban from driving.

Pique was found driving with no points on the license, for which police forced to suspend his right to driving till the footballer complete a 24h course and succeed an exam at the Traffic Headquarters.
https://file.naijauto.com/2018/09/06/u0GUC7wC/barcelona-defender-g-40f5.png
The reason he lost his points was all for the plenteous times the man’s caused traffic offenses.

He has featured on media with myriad law-breaking issues on roads such as reckless driving or exceeding the speed limit.

He used to be fined £9400 (~N4.4m) in 2014 following an argument with an on-duty traffic officer. A year later, Gerald Pique was caught holding a child in his arms while driving instead of buckling him up.

Knowing his problems with the traffic laws, Greyp Bikes approached him and presented a high-performance electric bike to Pique and two other his teammates, Lionel Messi and Cesc Fabregas, in 2016.
