Yesterday, the internet was set on fire by the photos posted by one instagram artist as a birthday photo to wish her son a happy birthday.

The instagram user who goes by the name Akuapem Poloo has cleared the air after getting numerous calls and reactions from people accusing her of child abuse.



According to her, she is an artist and anything she posts is an artistic work aiming at giving a deeper explaination and feeding a deeper meaning.

She further explained that she wasn’t aiming at nudity hence, she can do that with her son rather she was teaching more the importance of mother for those who must have forgotten in a haste.

Any condition you see your mother, whether sick, mad, dying e.t.c, always acknowledge she is your mother and that was why she told her son whenever you see me naked (as a result of madness or related situation) don’t run just know that iam still your mother.

So her going nude was an artistic language to tell the people that mothers may be like that oneday, either in sickness, in madness, in depression, in death or in any related situation and when you see that, don’t run always know that she is still your mother.



She further apologises to fans and beg them to keep supporting her as usual.

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has observed what it calls steady decline in free distribution of condoms in Nigeria.

Dr Idowu Araoyinbo, an official of the UN agency, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Monday in Calabar.



Araoyinbo noted that Nigeria still needed about 564 million condoms to meet its annual needs, adding that the current rate of free condoms distribution in Nigeria was at 20 percent and that it was on steady decline.

He said it was imperative to deliver an efficient, all-inclusive and comprehensive condom programme, if Nigeria was to achieve the family planning post-2020 commitments to increase the use of modern contraceptives and reduce the burden of the HIV.

To this effect, Araoyinbo said that UNFPA was interested in setting up a state level comprehensive condom programme, where key stakeholders in Cross River would be invited to be part of the initiative.

“The percentage of the free condoms that is available in most states in Nigeria is reducing. It is less than 20 percent.



“Based on this, we are about to start a pilot programme from Cross River where we will look at how we can engage with government to be the centre of distribution of the condoms.

“We will also invite some key non-governmental organisations (NGOs) across the entire population spectrum that work with young people, female sex workers and others.

“Invariably, we are going to have more accountability and effective monitoring, because government already has a system through which the commodities can be sent to the end users.

“We are trying to leverage on this to ensure that in the next six months, we have a consistent and sustained distribution of condoms

“You know condoms have dual functions, that is, prevention of unintended pregnancies and the prevention of sexually-transmitted diseases (STDs), including HIV.

“If the result comes out and it is favorable, we are hoping to expand this to other states.
“We have some young people who work as ward coordinators; they will be the whistle blowers, who will help us to ensure remote monitoring.

“We create awareness, for instance, through town hall meetings.
“People are aware that condoms are coming into their community and it will be assessed at particular points; if there are challenges with people accessing the condom, the people will raise the alarm.

“These young people will serve as the feedback mechanism that will enable us articulate any stop-gap issue,” he said.

Residents of Afaraukwu Ibeku community, in Umuahia North Council of Abia State, the home town of the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, scampered to safety as over 100 fierce-looking soldiers invaded the community.
The IPOB leader’s parents, Eze Okwu and Ugoeze Kanu, will be laid to rest on February 14, 2020, at Afaraukwa.
Vanguard gathered that the situation caused tension as the residents shut their shops while others fled their homes as the soldiers patrolled the area in their armoured personnel carrier.
A resident said; The soldiers numbering over 100 in nine military veterans and 2 Armored personnel carriers have been patrolling Bank road to Flo FM.
“The Soldiers have blocked the entrance street to Eze Kanu’s Palace, Afaraukwa, Umuahia with their van, walking round the community on foot. Everyone was scared, we ran away,” he said.
Another resident who simply gave his name as Abarikwu said he was on his way back from church when he got a call that soldiers had invaded the community.

Oxford English Dictionary (OED) has introduced 29 Nigerian words and expressions in the January updates to its glossary.

Although OED’s World English editor, Danica Salazar, announced this in a blog post last week, the news of the latest addition went viral recently.

She said, “The majority of these new additions are either borrowings from Nigerian languages or unique Nigerian coinages that have only begun to be used in English in the second half of the twentieth century, mostly in the 1970s and 1980s.

Some of the words and expressions added to the updated edition of the dictionary include Buka, chop-chop, ember months, Guber, next tomorrow, and tokunbo, among others.

A Shocking incident has occurred in the Volta Region of Ghana as a man’s bite has led to the death of a dog.

According to reports, a 45-year-old was bitten by a stray dog and as revenge, he bit the animal back and the bit ended up killing the animal in Adafienu, a coastal community in the Volta Region of Ghana.

The man identified as Justice Aflakpui aka Efo was relaxing at home and enjoying his ‘Akpeteshie(locally brewed wine) on Saturday afternoon when a stray dog came to his house from nowhere and bit his ankle.

Efo’s brother narrated that he was in pain after the dog bit him but out of rage he quickly chased the dog that had run to a nearby bush to revenge.

Efo’s brother added that he got hold of the dog, strangled it and bit it back.

“He was in pain after the dog bite. Out of anger, he chased the dog that had quickly run to a nearby bush to take revenge. Fortunately for him, he got hold of it, strangled it, and bit it back,” Justice’s brother narrated.

According to Victor, Justice’s brother, his brother then left the dog and came back to continue his drink.

“I heard the dog bark and cry like it was in real pain and within a few minutes, it stopped. I went there to check what had happened only find out the dog had died – with foam coming out from its mouth,”he recounted.

Speaking with some of the community folks, they said an incident like this had never happened in the community before.

“I find it strange that a human being can bite a dog in revenge for the dog to die within minutes. This has never happened in this community before. Even after the dog bite, he is perfectly fine and says there’s no need going to the hospital for an injection,”one woman said.

When asked the man what he actually did to the dog, he said he wouldn’t like to comment on it because what the dog wanted was exactly what it got in return.

“It attacked me in my own house and I attacked back, that’s all,” he said.

A yet to be identified nursing mother whose whereabouts is unknown, has abandoned her two months old baby in Libra Motors Park At Onitsha Overhead bridge in Anambra State.


According to a statement signed by Activist Gwamnishu Emefiena Harrison, the Director-General of Behind Bars Initiative, who swung into action after receiving a distress call, the 2months old baby has being handed over to the Divisional Police Station in Onitsha for investigation.



He wrote;


2 MONTHS OLD BABY ABANDONED BY MOTHER IN ONITSHA HEAD BRIDGE.

Today, Bebind Bars Human Right Foundation received a distress call from a member about an abandoned 2 months old baby in Libra Motors at Onitsha head bridge. We quickly travelled down there for prompt intervention.

We took the baby to Divisional Police Station, head bridge, Onitsha, where the matter is being investigated.

BBI Nigeria also reached out to appropriate authorities and hopes that they will come pick up the baby for proper welfare.


We are also trying to make contact with the numbers found in a bag perceived to be the mother’s bag.

Maverick entertainer, Charles Oputa also known as CharlyBoy, has reacted to the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, Senator Hope uzodimma’s victory at the Supreme Court on Tuesday.

The apex court had on Tuesday removed Gov Emeka Ihedioha of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and declared the All Progressive Congress, APC’s Hope Uzodinma as the Governor of Imo State.

Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC was ordered to withdraw the certificate of return from former Governor Emeka Ihedioha and issue Uzodinma with certificate of return as governor of the state.

Delivering the judgment, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun said the votes due to Uzodinma and APC from 318 polling units were wrongly excluded and should be added.

But, Charly Boy, while reacting on his Twitter page, wrote: “Imo State is Gone.”

He further attacked Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka of Adoration Ministries for his earlier prophecies.

Mbaka predicted that the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Hope Uzodinma, will take overfrom Emeka Ihedioha as Imo Governor in 2020.

WHERE IS IT IN THE BIBLE?
I wanted to pretend I didn’t read about the G. O who said ‘Christmas’ is not in the Bible and so shouldn’t be celebrated. It’s the same funny mentality of those who confuse terminology with theology. Easter as a term is not in the Bible but we celebrate easter because it’s an event and a mystery recorded in scripture. Same with Christmas, it’s not the term or calendar date we celebrate but the event and mystery. One day now someone will wake up tipsy on ‘anointing’ and tell me to tell him why I call myself a Catholic since that term doesn’t exist in the Bible. Same folly can be extended to all churches because no church has a name that’s used as a group of church members in the Bible. A Pentecostal church that says it doesn’t celebrate Christmas bc the term doesn’t exist in the Bible but calls itself a Pentecostal church is just a comic contradiction. Pentecost means 50th day, it was an agricultural feast that had nothing to do with the Holy Spirit until that particular year that the Holy Spirit fell on the apostles in Acts 2. Even after that there is no record in scripture that the Holy Spirit fell on other people on Pentecost day. If I wanted to be ‘an anointed idiot’ I would have been going round condemning Christians who identify as Pentecostals, quizzing them to show me where it’s in the Bible that a group of believers were referred to as Pentecostals or to prove to me where any group of Christians celebrated Pentecost in the Bible. Yet common sense dictates that it’s neither terminology nor semantics we identify as Pentecostal but the reality and mystery of the Holy Spirit. Whoever adjectivised SENSE with COMMON hasn’t experienced this generation of WHERE IS IT IN THE BIBLE intoxicated Christians, common sense is very rare. The Bible is not a dictionary or history book, it’s more of a theology than terminology. When you want to use the Bible to validate or invalidate any religious practice, you look for the biblical theology about it, not the terminology. Mothers day, fathers day, Children’s day, etc are not in the Bible, but the Bible doesn’t have anything against their celebration. It’s only a religious ignoramus that will condemn those celebrations and get pious zombies to follow suit. If you care to know, there are many things we do in life that are not in the Bible and God isn’t angry at all. Traditional marriage, village meetings, cross over vigils(these ‘show me where it’s in the Bible’ folks who are addicted to 31st Dec Cross over vigil don’t even know it’s not in the Bible in their sense), birthday parties, wedding anniversaries etc are not in the Bible.
Finally, someone needs to tell Dr Olukoya that MFM has a football club, I’ve been searching for it in the Bible and couldn’t find, abi no be MFM get that football club? Some nonsense must stop this 2019 o, let me come and be going.”

A lady is currently on the run after allegedly leaving indelible marks on the face of her friend, following a dispute over N950 in Umuahia, Abia State.
Giving an account of what happened, someone in the know, Eva, said: “On Friday, 28th November 2019, one miss Chikaodi Umeh — who is a friend to Onyinyechi Abaruo — went out drinking with their mutual friend, Nene.
Onyinyechi later went to join them, but as she was arriving, Chikaodi’s male friend who was hosting them, was about to leave and Chikaodi pleaded with him to give her some money to enable her buy more drinks for Onyinyechi who just came in. The guy then gave Chikaodi the sum of N2000 and left.
And Chikaodi went ahead to buy 5 bottles of beer which amounted to N1,050 and was left with N950 which she decided to keep. But that got Onyinyichi angry and questioned why Chikaodi would keep the money to herself. This resulted in a dispute and later a fight between them.
After the fight, Chikaodi left but forgot her body lotion on the table. She later called their other friend, Nene — who invited Onyinyechi in the first place — to please help her bring the lotion to kano street, uzoakoli road, umuahia.
However, while waiting for Nene to arrive, Onyinyechi stormed the place in a tricycle and told her: “this your fine face, I will disfigure it for you.” Then she brought out a sharp object and attacked her, leaving in a pool of blood before fleeing in the tricycle.

The video triggered negative reactions from Nigerians who felt that ladies are beginning to take their quest for a ‘lighter’ skin to a whole new outrageous level.

However, the lady who is the supposed skin expert has come out to air her displeasure with Nigerians for the heavy backlash that came her way and that of her client after her procedure made it way online.

She lashed at other self acclaimed beauty expert and ladies sliding to her DM asking her for the secret behind the procedure. She threatened to expose them if they don’t block themselves from her page.

A video showing how Nadia Buari wept at John Dumelo’s wedding has popped up.

She was happy for the couple, especially, Gifty, Dumelo’s wife. They have called themselves “Besties” on social media.

The video was shared by Dumelo’s wife to celebrate Nadia on her birthday.

Best described as tears of joy, Nadia’s action expressed the happy moment of seeing her best friends get married.

Mrs Dumelo shared the video on her Instagram page to celebrate Nadia on her birthday. She wrote: “She wept like a baby on my wedding day….I love and adore you @iamnadiabuari …..happy birthday darling.”

Nadia also responded telling the whole reason why she cried. According to her, watching her friends walk down the aisle was so beautiful to her and at that time, the tears of joy meant the world to her; iamnadiabuari: “Just watching u walk down that isle soo beautiful shedding those tears of joy meant the world to me. I love u bae.”

It was a shocking moment in Akwa Ibom state as a thief who got more than he bargained for as he got visited by over 500 millipedes after being written a letter to return all he stole.

The incident reportedly occurred at 240 Abak road after Ikot Okubo market in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital.

The thief was told to either return all he stole within two days or he dies.

Facebook user Kingsley Achugbu wrote “Happening Now: Beside 240 Abak road close to Uddy King filling station immidatly after Ikot Okubo market, a00e young man that has been identify as a thief a specialist in breaking and entering; into peoples apartment to Cart away their belonging received strange matured millipede numbering more than 500 inside his house why some where within the walls and floor of his house outside parading round the compound.
“Attached is a copy of the latter in front of the house showing what he was alleged to have stolen and to be returned within two (2) days or he die.
Omo juju dey oo.”
